Chapter 3 ~Luna?

              •••••(Somewhere Far Away)•••••

A shiver ran through everyone in the courtroom as soon they heard the announcement about The king coming back from his hunting.

They stood up and bowed their head in fear and respect of their King Leonidas Knight.

Soon the quiet courtroom filled with the dominant aura and footsteps of the king which could make whole world shiver and kneel in front of him.

Slowly the king made his way towards the throne.

Beside him sat his older sister Astraea on her throne.

 Astraea smiled as she saw her younger brother taking his seat on the throne.

Unlike his brother Astraea had been the sweetest queen.

Somewhere deep in her heart, she blamed herself for not being there for him when he needed her the most but she didn't have any choice at that time.

She knew her little brother very well brother. For others, he might be the most arrogant and cruel person who never cares about anyone but only she knew that he was such a nice and sweet like a kid who still thrives for love and the warmth he missed, he wants nothing but all the love he missed as a child. He just wants someone who'll cherish him and love him passionately. 

He drastically changed after the death of their mother.

" BEGIN" A loud voice boomed making her come out of her thoughts as she focused on the court matters.

 A few ministers came forward with few documents in their hands as they bowed down and begin the court procession.

" Your highness, the kingdom is in peace. The issue regarding peace with other species and us have been sorted out. All alphas have agreed to keep the peace. But from our sources, we've found that there's an alpha who's involved in illegal human trafficking" the minister finished.

 " Who's the alpha that dares to disobey us?"  Leonidas asked gaining the attention of all ministers.

 He looked calm but everyone knew that he's anything but calm.

 " Alp.....alpha Ste...Stephen Hendriks of Nightfall Pack" The minister while stuttered bowing his head.

" Prepare the guards. It's time I pay a proper visit to that mutt" Leonidas said as got up from the throne before making his way out of the courtroom without any further word.

Soon Astraea followed after him.

" Do you want to say anything ?" Leonidas asked as soon as they both entered his private office.

" I'm wondering how are you going to make him agree to sign those paper and stop human trafficking?" she asked before taking a seat in front of him.

 " Nothing, I'm just going to make him regret even thinking about breaking the rules" Leonidas answered before saw his sister frowning at him.

"Don't worry I won't kill him" He informed and saw his sister nodding.

" At least not yet" He murmured under his breath.

Suddenly they were interrupted by a guard who bowed their head.

" Your highness we're ready for heading to Nightfall pack" He informed. 

" Very well. We'll head there in the morning." Leonidas ordered.

The guard bowed and left. 

                        •••••Aurora's POV•••••

"Help Luna" I heard a voice and soon I felt two pairs of hands helping me stand.

Slowly I stood up with the help of the maids and looked ahead.

" We need your help," the man in front of me said making me look back at him in confusion.

 " Since you're our Luna we need you to act like one since Alpha is not here," he said before he motioned the maids. " Take her back to her suite and prepare her for the morning" he continued before walking away without giving me any chance to question.

What did he mean by I need to act like to be Luna and where is Alpha Stephen?

Didn't Alpha Stephen say that he only needed me to be alive because I was his mate?

Prepare me for the morning? 

What is happening?

 " Luna"

 " Luna"

 "Aurora "

I came out of thought when I felt someone calling my name.

I looked around and saw that now I'm in a huge room.

I turned my head and saw a woman in her forties near me in a white coat.

"I need you to lay down so I could take a look at your injuries" she informed as she pointed towards the bed.

 I made my way towards the king-sized bed as I don't have any other option than to follow her.

I slowly laid and let her do her work.I must have dozed off because when I opened my eyes I felt much better.

I didn't felt any pain I looked around and noticed I'm still in the same room.

Suddenly the door of the room was pushed opened again and few maids came and started to help me out of the bed and took me to the bathroom.

They helped me wash my hairs and took a bath.

In no time I was dressed in a long maroon maxi dress and was sitting in front of a white dresser as they started to braid my hairs and started to cover the bruises around my neck and face.

Soon they brought my breakfast and fed me and gave me painkillers to numb my pain.

I don't know suddenly what changed over night that they started to pamper me like this.

But there was an unsettled feeling in my gut which is telling me there's something wrong with this sudden change of their behaviour. 

Soon a guard came and I was escorted outside from the packhouse towards the little garden in front of the porch.

" How can the alpha leave and let us handle the King? 

Why doesn't he agree to the peace truce and stop human trafficking?

 Do you think that the king will leave us alone? He's fucking going to kill us all if alpha doesn't stop all this. Now the whole pack is in danger just because of our stubborn alpha. 

You let girl face the king do you think he'll think twice before snapping her head? " I heard someone say and turned my head and saw panicked gamma talking to the beta.

I turned my head around fearing the punishment I'll receive if I was found eavesdropping on their conversation.

" Don't worry nothing will happen. And about the girl we all know that she doesn't mean anything to our alpha. And alpha knew that royals don't lay a hand on women that's why he planned to present her in front of the king" the beta replied.

" The King?"

What are they talking about?

Is everyone going to die?

Are they talking about lycan king?

Before I could understand anything I heard a commotion around the packhouse.

What is happening?

 Suddenly the bright sky was covered with black angry thundering clouds and Rain started to fall and I shifted on my feet, groaning softly as my clothes began to plater against my skin, momentarily distracting me from my panic.

 A low growl of an engine sounded followed by a sleek black car pulling up to the front of the packhouse.

There was silence. No one moved, no one spoke, only thundering and lightning was heard before...
