Reckoning

Daniel walked into the dimly lit café, his heart pounding in his chest. He scanned the room until his eyes landed on Arda Demir, seated in a corner booth. Arda looked up, his expression cold and resolute. Daniel steeled himself and walked over, sliding into the seat opposite Arda.

“You wanted to see me,” Daniel said, trying to keep his voice steady.

Arda leaned back, a bitter smile on his face. “Yes, I did. I thought it was time we had a face-to-face conversation.”

Daniel nodded. “I’m here. What do you want?”

Arda’s smile faded, replaced by a look of pure hatred. “I want justice, Daniel. You ruined my life, my family’s life. My parents couldn’t handle the shame and the financial ruin you brought upon us. They committed suicide because of the desperation you caused.”

Daniel swallowed hard, feeling a pang of guilt. “I’m sorry for what happened to your family, but I’m here to find a solution. Let’s talk about how we can make things right.”
