Chapter Two

Crack...crack...crack...crack... The sound of the whip meeting my skin was the only sound that bounced against the walls of the cell. This was the fifth day of my capture. I groaned in pain as the whip met my back, my wolf whimpered not because of the whipping but because of the silver chains. She had grown weaker than the first day so it's made it hard for my wounds to heal.

Landon signalled Dakota to stop just when I thought I was going to pass out. I couldn't move, my body was on fire and my head felt heavy. My blood rolled down my back and face to the floor. " You brought this on yourself...after all this you'll never cross another pack without permission...if you make it out alive" he said. 

The cell door opened and someone entered the cell. I couldn't look up from the floor, " still not saying anything?" I recognized the voice as the Beta's, " a stubborn one" Landon grumbled. There was silence after that, I wondered what they're thinking about...maybe how to end my life...

" I think we should take her to Theo, he'll know what to do" Landon said. They always talk about their alpha but I've never seen him, never heard his name...I don't even know what pack I'm in...

My arm was pulled roughly and I was jerked up to my feet. My knees felt like jelly because of no motion for five days. Dakota removed the chain from the wall with gloves. Then I was dragged out of the cell and down a narrow dark hallway. 

I tried reaching out to my wolf but she was too far...Soon we were in front of a black iron door. The door opened and I was blinded by bright white light. I was dragged into the room, my eyes finally adjusted to the brightness. We were in a room painted light grey, a long table sat at a corner with a lot of ....torture tools laid out on it, then there was a single chair at the opposite side of the table below what looked like a rusted shower.

I was made to seat on the chair and chained to it with the chains around my wrists and ankles. Finally I noticed a scary looking guy standing by the table. He had jet black hair and dead grey eyes. Creepy but okay looking. 

Landon walked over to him and said something in his ear. The guy nodded and turned around to pick something up from the table. Tobias turned around and nodded at Dakota, she walked up beside me, I narrowed my eyes at her as she reached above my head. I jump in fright as ice cold water runs over me, I winced because of the contact of water and my wounds. 

After some minutes she turned it off. The water entering the drainage under the chair was colored red. I glared at Tobias, " What? Wanna fight me?" He asked " I would love to but I'm not sure you would survive and I'm not prepared to go to trial for murder" I said, he growled at me " Are you calling me weak, rogue?"" I didn't say that...but that works too" I grinned. 

He lunged at me, wrapping his hands around my neck tightly, " Tobias stop"" she disrespected me" he growled and continued to strangle me, I held my breath. Landon tried to pry his hands off but he didn't budge, " Don't listen to her, she's just trying to get under your skin and Phoenix wouldn't be happy if he finds out that you killed without permission" Landon said to him. 

He hesitated but eventually let go. I let out the breath I was holding and swallowed, " You should listen to blondie more" I said and he scoffed. The other guy at the corner walked towards me with some kind of weird looking cuffs. Dakota unchained my ankles, then the guy locked the cuffs around my ankles. 

" What is this?" I asked on confusion " a surprise" Landon said with a grin. The Theo guy gave him a small remote, then Dakota turned on the shower again. Landon pressed the button on the remote and a great wave of electricity ran all over my body. 

I yelled as the unbearable wave made my body shake in pain. It felt like my insides were burning over and over again. I shut my eyes tight as I tried to bear the pain. Soon he stopped it and I was panting heavily. " It's a new device and you are the first wolf we've used it on" Tobias said with a smile. 

I scoffed, " I feel so honored"" you should" Landon said " so are you going to answer the question?"" I've already told you before... I was just passing through and it's none of your business where I was heading so go fuck yourselves" I answered with a sweet smile. 

Landon nodded, " okay then...Theo turn it up... higher" he said, Theo went towards what looked like a fuse box and flipped a switch. Landon pressed the button again, I screamed out. It was worse than the first one, so much worse and he left it longer than before. 

When he finally turned it off, I felt extremely weak and slowly my body shut down on it's own accord. Maybe when I wake up everything would be back to normal.

Phoenix

The meeting was finally over and I couldn't wait to go back home. All they talked about was about some rogue that had been violating the rules by running in and out of packs without permission. As much as hate rogues, I feel extremely sorry for this one because once it's caught, it's going to be put to death. 

My beta reported five rogue cases to me three days ago. He said that he had taken care of four, but the last one was a serious pain in the ass and he wasn't sure how long he was going to restrain himself from strangling it to death. 

I zipped my small bag and carried it out of the room I was staying. We had the meeting at the Midnight pack, the leader, Alpha Lincoln let us stay in his pack house. 

As I went down the stairs, some females at the foot of the stairs openly gawked at me, some kept batting their lashes and pushing their chests and asses out just to catch my attention. I glared at them, my wolf growled at their foolishly disgusting antics.

After watching them scurry off in shame I left the pack house. The other Alphas were around conversing. I went straight to meet Alpha Lincoln, he was laughing with two other Alphas, Alpha Victor of the Night shade pack and Alpha Roman of the Crimson pack, my least favorite wolves. 

He spotted me immediately, " ah Phoenix, my son" the side of his eyes wrinkled as he grinned at me. I nodded at the other two and faced Lincoln, " thank you alpha for your hospitality, I'll be leaving now" I said, he scoffed " As usual, I still remember when you were younger, such a rascal but now look at you all grown up and always busy, you never stay long enough to see Leilani"" I'm sorry but I have something to take care of at the pack, I promise to come visit when I'm free" I gave him a small reassuring smile. 

Him and his Luna, leila had always been like parents to me and I respect them so much for everything they had done for me and my pack. Alpha Roman spoke up, " Yes you're always rushing off as if you can't wait to see your mate, speaking of which have you found her yet? or you're still lonely? You can come to my pack and search...""Sorry but I don't see how any of that is your business, so stay out of my life and face your's, now excuse me I have serious things to attend to...thanks again Alpha Lincoln, I'll see you when I can...goodbye" I said calmly and walked away. 

The other Alphas watched me leave silently. I entered my car, " drive Regan"" yes alpha" the warrior said and drove of immediately. 

Stupid asshole...My wolf growled.

I don't need a woman to lead, their just a bundle distractions. I've been saying this to myself ever since I was a kid and I'm not going to go back on my words.

Clover

" Come on Clover!" I tried to move but... my body felt numb..." Get up!" I felt her pull me up but I slipped back..."You have to get up!" Tears rolled down my face as I watched her..." Please Clover Cloverrrr....!" She started to fade and her voice grew distant...at that moment I could move the upper half of my body... I reached out to her but...it was too late...she was...gone.

My body jerked forward and my eyes snapped open to meet the darkness of my cell. My heart was beating rapidly in my chest, my wolf whined in my head. I closed my eyes and took some deep breaths to attain my normal heart beat. 

I opened my eyes and stared at the tiny window just above me. It looked like it was sunset...maybe sunrise?... Honestly, I've lost track of time since most of the time I'm lying unconscious on the floor of this dirty old cell. 

Sometimes I'd wake up and it's bright out side then they'd come and take me to that place and beat the shit out of me until I pass out...then I'd wake up and find it dark outside...I'd ask the guard outside my cell what time it is, but he'd just ignore me...I don't know how long I've been here, but at least I know the pack I'm in...  Titan pack, one of the most feared pack, their alpha..*scoffs*... I've heard stories I don't want to hear ever again...Goddess I should have listened to my wolf...I shouldn't have entered...

'Hey...it's fine at least we're together...'My wolf said weakly.

'No! You were right I shouldn't have done any of this...now because of me they're going to kill us...'

'Don't worry we'll get out of here'

'Hell yeah! We will...I've been thinking of ways-'

The cell gate opened and Landon walked in...He smiled at me. " Wow I can't believe you actually survived after yesterday" he said. I stared down at my hands, " what? No sarcastic replies or come backs. I looked up and grinned, " oh! I've got plenty but I want to waste all of them on Mr broody" he chuckles and shakes his head. 

" You know... I didn't expect you to last this long...you're really strong" he said, I shrugged " when you've been what I've been through it's impossible not to survive" I said in my head, " I guess I took it from my father...he was a really strong wolf" I said to him. 

He smiled " I hope to still see you alive after the Alpha comes back" he said "Don't worry I will"" I know it seems early but I think you're a good person Clover. I don't know why you're doing this but I hope you do survive" he simply said before Dakota came and dragged me out of the cell. That's the first anyone had ever cared enough for me..I felt warm on the inside and also sad cause he reminded me ofy brother.

'Are you scared?' My wolf asked. 

'Scared of what?'

'The alpha of course!'

'Scared is an understatement, I'm fucking terrified! And I really hope we survive.'

Phoenix

It was past nine when we got to my pack territory and I was as exhausted as f***. I told the driver to go while I mindlinked Tobias and Landon that I was back then I walked home. 

I opened my front door and switched on the light. As I walked in I couldn't help but notice how quiet and empty the house was, it reminded me that this is how it was always going to be. Me. Myself and I. I sighed. 

'And who's fault is it? Huh?' My wolf asked. 

I rolled my eyes and marched up the stairs of the big empty house to my room. 

'I thought you were on my side back at Lincoln's pack...'

'Me?no no no you got that all wrong... I hated the fact that he was reminding me that I don't have a mate.'

'Reminding us...' I corrected him.

'Pfft... I care about it and you don't...which by the way...'

'Nope not going there..buh bye!'

I blocked him out and took off my clothes to get into the shower. Just then I felt something tug at my chest and my wolf started getting restless...the feeling of de ja vu hit me hard.

I remembered feeling the same way when I was leaving for that meeting but it didn't last. This one on the other hand was pestering me.

'What's going on?'

'I don't know but I feel as if I'm being pulled towards something...'

I groaned. I hated the feeling. It made me feel soft on the inside. 

'Well, can you make it stop?'

'I can't...oh wait..it's stopped.'

Immediately he said that, it did stop. Weird... I thought but I let it go...maybe I was hungry?
