Chapter: Chapter Forty Nine (EPILOGUE)
WARNING: MENTIONS OF SUICIDE. PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN VOLITION.CLOVERAfter Phoenix woke up, the whole pack was relaxed again. We even had a feast that very night. Everything felt so right once more. That night, when everybody had retired to their respective homes, Phoenix and I laid awake in bed, cuddling and talking about everything and anything, “ That’s not true, I wasn’t worried about your safety, I was worried about the rogues you might have come across” Phoenix said and I scoffed, “ Don’t overestimate me. I’m not that strong, you’re the only thing that kept me going” I joked. He grimaced, “ That was so fucking cheesy, I almost barfed” “ You love me cheesy” I replied, while wiggling my brows at him, and he laughed, “ The hell?! That was even worse”.I smiled at him, “ You really scared me though” I said, “ I was asleep” he said with an eye roll. I bit his chest, “ Well I think I’m now traumatized by you just going to sleep. You’re not allowed to close your eyes ever again” I j

Chapter: Chapter Forty Eight
CLOVERAs soon as we got to the pack hospital, Phoenix was placed on a pre-prepared stretcher and taken to the ER. Danny sat quietly in the hallway while I paced back and forth, “ Sit down Clover. You’re making me nauseous” He mumbled. The sound of approaching footsteps made me stop. Aunt Renee and Doe crushed me in a warm hug, “I’m so glad you’re safe” Aunt Ree said, but then her eyes fell on my neck, “ Oh my-you’re bleeding! Doctor!-“ “ Forget it. She won’t go with them” Danny said from his seat and all eyes fell on him. “ Hello, you must be Clover’s brother. I’m Doe” Doe smiled and stretched her hand to him, which he shook to my surprise, “ Daniel” he said and smiled back. I raised my brow at him, “ Wow, look at you being all polite” I mocked, “ Well she’s pretty” he answered and winked at Doe. An arm circled Doe’s waist, “ And taken” Tobias said with a warning look. He had bandages running from over his left shoulder to his torso, but he was fine. Danny smiled in amusement, “ Ju

CLOVER Danny was right. Moping was not going to solve our problems. Those things had already happened, and there was nothing I could do about it. After crying for a while, I wiped my tears and said, “ You’re right. I’m sorry…I was just….”, Danny sighed,“ I get it. We just have to get out of here fast” he said. That being said, I looked around the cell and suddenly had a sense of de ja vu, “ These walls look like they’ve been standing for decades, maybe there’s a weak spot” I mumbled. I felt around the wall for something, anything. When I felt around the walls near Danny, some stones crumbled under my finger. Danny came to stand beside me and eyed the spot too. As I was about to tell him the next plan, someone knocked on our cell bar. We froze in place, “ Shit…” Danny cursed under his breath and we turned around, only to find that it was the weird guard from before. He was looking everywhere, as if to check of anyone was coming, before he opened the door and walked straight to me.

MILLICENT Something strange is happening up above us. Ever since this morning there had been a lot of howling. Sad, mournful howls. Like something bad had happened. When wolves howl like that, it usually signifies the death of a ruler.I’ve also been having this bad feeling in my gut. I haven’t been able to sit still, and I don’t know how to calm the others with me. I know Clover isn’t dead, because if she was, we would have felt it. I just feel like she’s in grave danger.“ When is Alpha Phoenix gonna get here?”, One of them asked, “ I don’t know”,I replied anxiously. This has been the question for the past two-three days? I’m not even sure how long we’ve been here. “ I don’t think that girl got to the pack” “ How do you know that?”“ If she had reached the pack, we wouldn’t be here by now!” “ Can you just wait? I’m sure Alpha Phoenix is on his way……right?”“ He has abandoned us! We’re doomed”“ How can you say that about your own Alpha?!”“ If we weren’t abandoned, then why have

WARNING: MENTIONS OF MURDER AND SUICIDE. PHOENIX“ What are we going to do?” Tobias asked after Landon relayed the information to him, “ Prepare the warriors, we’re going to snowfall pack…” I simply said. Tobias frowned, “ Warriors? Are you planning to start a war?” He asked. I leaned back in my chair, trying to keep my wolf calm, “ If need be” I replied. Landon nodded and went for the door, “…I think you’re being a bit too rash? I mean, we can just try to talk it out first before taking any actions, right?” He asked.LANDONAs soon as Tobias spat those words out, the air in the office grew cold. My whole body went completely still. A feeling I haven’t had in a while. My wolf shrank to the farthest part of my mind and I involuntarily bowed my head. “ I’m being rash?” Phoenix asked coldly, not even hiding the bloodlust seeping out of him. He got up and walked towards Tobias, “ You think I’m being rash…You’re acting like you don’t know what’ll happen to Clover if she spends another t

ALEXIAWhen I opened my eyes, I was greeted by the white ceiling of the pack hospital, and the smell of antiseptic. My throat felt dry, “ Water” I choked out. Someone immediately rushed to my side and a cup was pressed against my lips. I greedily gulped down the whole cup. “How are you feeling?” Someone asked on my left. I looked up and realized it was Alpha Phoenix, and the person who gave me water was Gamma Landon. I blinked several times, “ I-I’m fine. Alpha Phoenix…” I paused as my brain did a full reset, “Luna Clover…” “ Hey. You must be hungry. Eat first, then you can talk” he said and passed a bowl of food to me.It took me seconds before the bowl was empty. I drank some water and began talking, “ Luna followed her brother to another pack. I heard some guards saying that, that was were their mother is” “ Okay. What about the remaining pack members?” Alpha Phoenix asked. “ They’re fine, at least. We planned to escape together, but they got caught. Those rogues won’t hurt them,

Chapter: Epilogue
Eight years later... Amaya's eyes followed me back and forth as I paced around my office nervously, " Your pacing is starting to get on my nerves" she said and crossed her legs on top of my desk. I stopped moving and faced her, " I'm so nervous. My heart feels like it's about to jump out of my chest. My palms are sweaty and I have butterflies in my tummy" I told her "oh I didn't notice" she said and rolled her eyes. Then she sighed and dropped her feet, " I know you're nervous but you need to calm down" " The easier said than done. Amy, it's been eight years since I last saw him, you can't expect me to be calm. I'm super worried. * Gasp* What if he doesn't recognize me?" I asked with wide eyes. Amaya scoffed, " I highly doubt it. Just because you lost contact with him two four years ago doesn't mean he'd forget you" I paused " You're right. I should just be calm. Yeah I can do that" I reassured myself. A slight kno

Chapter: Chapter Forty One
The news of Reece apologizing to our teacher was the new topic of gossips by the end of third period. I rolled my eyes once again at the over exaggerated story. It was merely an apology, why do teenagers always make things seem dramatic.I understand that it's surprising since he was always rebelling against the teachers, but that doesn't mean he's incapable of apologizing. I sighed as I passed yet another group of gossips who were leaning against my locker. I recognized some of them as those bratty rich kids in my class, " I couldn't believe it! I swear it sounded foreign coming from his mouth"" He apologized, what's the big deal?" I voiced out. The group of five turned to me, the girl who was speaking crossed her arms, " What?" She asked " What's the surprise there? Reece is human, is he not? Why are you guys talking as if he's a god or something?" I asked. She raised her eyebrows at me, " Who are you even?--oh wait! You're that girl he us

That same evening...JenniferAfter hours of unnecessary shopping, I was finally back in my warm cozy space. A sigh of content escaped my lips as I was finally able to get all my homework done. I smiled to myself and strolled over to my bed to sleep. Mid jump, I was interrupted by two knocks on my window.Already knowing who the intruder was, I opened the window and let him crawl in, " This is getting old" I told him. He took off his shoes and jacket and dove under my covers, " Ah...warm" he murmured. I rolled my eyes and joined him, " So what's up?" I asked. He fell silent for a second, " Well...my dad...he wants me to come home.." he said " Do you want to?" I asked. He shrugged, " I don't know.. I feel like I want to and also don't want to..." He paused and spoke again " I want to forgive him...but...okay I got nothing..I really want to forgive him" he said.I smile

Chapter: Chapter Thirty Nine
Jennifer " Is it just me or has Reece been on the low recently?" My ears perked up at the mention of his name. I know eavesdropping is bad, but they're talking about Reece. I pretended to write while I listened to the girls behind me. The other hummed, " Yeah...I've noticed it too...the school's been quiet...it's like he doesn't even exist anymore. Super weird" she said. I frowned in thought, ' that's true. He really has been off the radar and I hardly see him around school'. Just then, he walked into the class nodding at whatever Severn was telling him. As he walked closer, the girls behind me stopped talking. He looked at me and smiled a little then went to seat at the back. " OMG...did you see that? He smiled at me!" One of the girls silently squealed and the other joined her. I rolled my eyes at their delusion and returned to doodling. My phone vibrated, I looked at the text and smi

Jennifer" Ah~" I sighed as my bum touched the hard, yet comfortable seat. I'd been dancing for a while so my feet hurt, I needed a break. I looked at the sea of dancing bodies, sipping my drink and chuckled when I spotted Amaya as she was trying to escape from Jason. Young love, so innocent.Suddenly, the chair beside me was pulled back and Reece sat down on it. He smiled a little, " Hey..." He mouthed over the loud music. I smiled back and looked at his fireman costume, " Nice costume" I leaned over and said " Thanks, you too. You look hot" he replied with a wink. I rolled my eyes and sipped from my drink.Reece grabbed my hand gently, " Can we go outside...please?" He asked, wearing a serious look. I nodded after a little hesitation and followed him out of the hall into the now bright hallway. The music faded as we went farther away from the gym. Honestly, I felt so scared as I followed him.

JenniferUgh! This week has been so hectic, from annoying tests to enormous amounts of homework and projects. But thank God it's all over, " hahaha..."" The hell..? Are you crazy or sum?" Amaya asked when she heard me laugh. I smiled at her, " I'm so happy" I said " What? Did Reece ask you to be his girlfriend?" She asked and sipped from her drink.I scowled at her but still blushed, " Of course not"" Why not?" She asked again. I sighed, " We don't think it's a good idea at the moment. I know it's just forgave him and all, but it's too fast" I told her. She nodded in agreement, " You're right. It would be too soon" she said." Hello ladies" a familiar figure sat beside Amaya. I raised my eyebrows and smiled when I noticed the blush on Amaya's cheeks. " Hi" I greeted him, he smiled at me and then faced Amaya, " Aren't you tired of running away?" He asked her, " Who's running away from what?" She asked back.I

ONCE AGAIN

ONCE AGAIN

The place his lips touched burned, "Your brother is in the other room," I told him, hoping (not) that he would let go. Walker planted soft kisses on my cheek and the corner of my lips, "We're in the bathroom. He can't hear us," he responded. I groaned, "Are you drunk? Or have you been playing this whole time?" I asked because he seemed very sober. Walker chuckled, "You won't believe how drunk I am right now. And I'm not hearing a no," he said and his hand moved up to my chest. Destiny and Walker had been married for five years and were given a second chance at love after a rough patch in their relationship when Destiny discovered she was pregnant. Walker is overjoyed and vows to keep her and their unborn child safe this time around. As they navigate this new chapter, they must confront their unresolved emotions and fears. Will they be able to rekindle their love and build a stronger, healthier relationship? Or will the weight of their past mistakes, along with external forces, tear them apart once more? Join them on their journey of separation and reunion.

Chapter: Chapter 23
I woke to the scent of his skin on the pillow beside me.It was faint—soap and something warmer, something uniquely Walker—but it was enough to flood me with memories of last night. The slow press of his mouth against mine. The way he’d whispered I missed you like it physically hurt. The way he’d held me after, arms locked around me like I might slip through his fingers again. Then I remembered our talk. The words came back like a sudden drop in temperature—sharp, sobering, inevitable. It wasn’t just kisses and whispered apologies. We’d cracked ourselves open in the dark, laid out the truths we’d buried deep. The grief. The guilt. The baby. The life we weren’t sure we could rebuild. We didn't promise many things. No declarations, no vows. Just the fragile truth of where we were now.I lay still, heart thudding softly, hands curled beneath the sheets. That conversation lingered like smoke—soft and invisible, but impossible to ignore.Because of peace like this? Mornings like this? They

The silence that followed wasn’t heavy—it was warm. Full. The kind of silence that held meaning, like the world had finally paused long enough for us to breathe in sync.Walker’s chest rose and fell beneath my cheek, his heartbeat thudding gently against my skin like a lullaby. One of his hands rested on my back, fingers idly tracing circles in slow, thoughtless patterns. The other was threaded through my hair, his thumb brushing against my scalp every so often, like he was anchoring himself with me. I didn’t want him to let go.And I didn’t want to move. Not yet. I wasn’t ready to break the stillness. My body ached in the best way—sated, warm, soft—but my thoughts hadn’t settled. They swirled, messy and loud beneath the surface. How had we gotten here? One minute we were kissing like we couldn’t survive another second apart, like the air itself didn’t matter. Touching like we were still trying to prove we were real. Like two ghosts colliding in the dark. But now…Now there was the ec

Chapter: Chapter 21: Flashback
***Two months ago: Before Destiny’s pregnancy***Walker laid her down on the bed after gently cleaning her up, careful not to wake her. Her breathing remained steady, the lines of tension that had gripped her face earlier now softened in sleep. He slipped his dress shirt onto her body, buttoning it up over her curves like it was armor—like somehow, it could protect her from everything he couldn't.As he tucked the blanket around her, Destiny stirred, her brow twitching faintly."...bastard," she murmured, the word slurred with sleep but still laced with enough venom to cut through the quiet.Walker paused. His hand hovered mid-air over her shoulder before he finished pulling the blanket up. She didn't wake. He didn't respond.Maybe he deserved it. Hell, he probably did.Leaving her in the bed, he walked to the bathroom. The water in the shower was hot—scalding even—but it didn't wash away the unease crawling up his spine. When he stepped out and wrapped a towel around his waist, the a

DISCLAIMER: THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS EXPLICIT SEXUAL THEMES. READERS DISCRETION IS ADVISED ************************************************** As soon as the front door clicked shut behind us, Walker grabbed me. There was no warning—just a blur of movement and a gasp ripped from my throat as he spun me around and pressed me hard against the wall. My back hit the surface with a soft thud. “Walker—” But I didn’t get the chance to say anything else. His mouth crashed onto mine, hot and desperate. It felt like he was trying to consume me, devour me, make me feel everything he couldn’t say. This wasn’t like the kisses we used to share—those had been slow, sometimes hesitant, always sweet. This was wildfire. It tore through me, rough, hungry, like he was trying to make up for lost time… or terrified there wouldn’t be any more. His lips crushed mine, tongue pushing past, coaxing, claiming. He tasted like frustration and longing and something deeper—something I didn’t know how to name.

Chapter: Chapter 19
The soft hum of conversation and the clinking of glasses filled the grand dining hall, a golden chandelier casting a warm glow over elegantly dressed guests. I had never felt more out of place in my life. Walker had left my side only moments ago to speak with one of the board members near the fireplace. I stood by the dessert table, absentmindedly nibbling on a slice of lemon cake, the subtle tartness doing little to ease my nerves. Chairman Terrence's birthday party was everything I'd expected—polished smiles hiding sharp tongues. I watched a waiter pass by with a tray of champagne and sighed, "I wish I could have a drink." "Still pretending you belong here?" An unfamiliar sneer sliced through the air like a knife. I turned slowly, eyes narrowing as a blonde woman glided toward me, a wine glass poised delicately between her fingers. Her crimson gown clung to every curve like it had been stitched onto her skin. Angela Terrence. But I stayed silent, licking frosting from the tip

Chapter: Chapter 18
Destiny's povLogan parked the car in front of the Grand Hotel. The hotel looked fancy, shining in gold with tall arches and marble columns—like a scene from an old movie. But the chaos outside took away from its beauty. Reporters, photographers, and curious onlookers crowded near the entrance, creating a hectic scene. It felt more like an award show than a birthday party for a seventy-five-year-old man.As we sat there, we faced a wall of flashing cameras. Voices shouted questions at anyone who stepped onto the red carpet. The bright lights were blinding, and the energy was intense—like being in a storm of glitter and noise. I leaned back in my seat, feeling anxious."I'm rethinking this," I said mostly to myself. This scene reminded me of why I used to say no when Walker invited us to these events.Walker, calm and collected, crouched beside me and carefully adjusted my stiletto strap. He took his time, not rushing, as if his calm could balance out the chaos outside. When he finishe
