They drove to his mother's house.
As soon as the car drove into the place, there was a mix of happiness and sadness that he felt. It had been a while since he came to this place, but he was sad because of the reasons he was being called to come here.He stepped out of the car and saw the other car there. It meant that Alex was already inside.
" Are you okay? You do not look okay to me." he tried to hold Cat's hands, but she refused.
He dragged her back as soon as she tried to make a move.
" We are going to see my family, and I do not want such behavior; we have to act like everything is okay. I'm sure you do not want them mocking you" he said.He locked his hands in hers. She found not to do anything about it because that's the way he wanted it, and it had to happen that way so they could save themselves from the mother's harsh words.
The cat was particularly not happy as all the times she met with Mrs. Dawson flashed before her eyes; they were very unpleasant moments, and she was going to experience another one.
They walked into the house. Alex and Rebecca were seated on the other side of the house. Sophia was at the left and Mrs. Dawson was in the middle.
They had to go over to the right and they got seated.
Cat's eyes won't stop going about looking at each of them as they exchanged glances and made some looks that screamed that they were not welcome.
" I believe you saw the time I gave to you for arrival," Mrs. Dawson said.
" I did; I arrived only five minutes late, pardon me," Aaron said.He decided to start on a good note because he did not want to get upset, and if they tried to get him angry, he was also in the mood to get back at them.

Cat sat there, not saying a word. She could not look at them as well. She figured out that it was not because of Aaron; it was mainly because of her, from the way Sophia looked at her to the way Rebecca looked at her as well.
" I want to know why you married her, and now she works in the company; why would you do such a thing?" She asked Aaron.
There was silence in the room. If a pin is being dropped in the room, it is going to make a sound that all of them would hear.
The cat was very uneasy where she sat. She looked over her shoulders and saw how Aaron felt very comfortable. He was not shaken at all.
He turned and looked at his mother.
" Is that what Alex said I did? After he left my office, he came here to tell you that I want Cat to work in the company?" " Of course, why won't he tell me about the nonsense you are doing. There was a look on Rebecca's face. She seemed to be enjoying all that was going on.

He stretched his hands to Cat. She placed her hands in his.

They were going to call her weak, and they were going to say that they were right about her.
She rushed to the car and poured the tears there. She cried so much in the car before Aaron finally came out of the house.
As soon as she saw Aaron coming, she quickly wiped the tears from her face; she did not want him to see her that way.
She felt he was the same as his family, and none of them deserved to see her breakdown.
