Serene felt her throat was dry and patched, she placed the book that she was reading on the table and stood up. She pushed the door of the room and walked out of the room.

She picked her steps and walked in the direction of the kitchen. She grabbed a cup from the cabinet on getting to the kitchen and poured warm water into the cup. Serene lifted the cup to her lips and sipped the water slowly.

Just then, she heard the sound of the door bell and her brows arched slightly. She was not expecting anyone and neither did Steve tell her about anybody's arrival either. She thought to ignore the sound of the bell at first but the person at the door was quite persistent.
