Chapter Fifty-Three: Not the Same Woman You Hurt

Miracle's POV

Norman had always been stingy so the mansion wasn't guarded with a uniformed guard and only a CCTV. I strode to the gate and repeatedly slammed my hands on the gate.

"Norman! Open this door!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, not caring if anyone nearby could hear me.

A few minutes later, a maid I don't recognize opened it and I pushed past her with Joy following me. The maid tried to stop me but she prevented her from getting close to me and I was able to enter the house.

"Now what is a ln educated teacher like you screaming outside my house?" Norman, who was doing his work in the living room like usual, asked me.

"Where is my mother? Give her to me and we will leave!" I yelled, looking around to search for her.

"And why would I give her to you?"

"You broke our agreement, didn't you? You told Hawk about the plan!"

I started opening door after door while calling out for her and the maid frantically followed after me

After leaving Norman's house, Joy and I went back to Hawk's house, but it didn't feel right to stay there anymore knowing what I did. Still, a huge part of me refused to leave, not because I don't have anywhere else to go but because I didn't want to anger him more, and I admit, I was still foolishly hoping he'd forgive me, and we can start over. I am willing to ask for his forgiveness. Make it up to him and do everything to earn it and his trust. I know things won't be the same anymore, and he might not even want to talk to me or see me, but I didn't want to lose hope. But if Hawk really wants me gone from his life, then I will give him what he wants. All of this is my fault. I was weak and I let Norman control me when I could have looked for another way to save my mother. He used me at my most vulnerable state that I had no choice but to agree. Don't you want to see how it will end? The future is uncertain, Miracle. We could die tomorrow so let's not live with regret." He said, trying to catch his breath and I realized how serious he was. "B-But I'm only turning thirty and I haven't achieved my dream, Mark. I—" "Do you want to or not? Because it's you I want to spend the rest of my life with, Miracle. I promise I will give you everything and you don't have to work anymore! Give up your dream and be with me!" He continued to shake me and I couldn't stop laughing. "Okay! I will marry you!" Miracle's POV "You're so sexy, so responsive, baby. Mira never moaned like you. She was always so frigid it's like I'm fūcking a robot." Mark moaned loudly, and wrecked my heart with his comment. "It might be because she's old and she can't do the positions I can, darling." Blair responded with a giggle that sounded like a grinder in my ear. My heart shattered into tiny little pieces I have to pick up with tweezers, but I was surprised by how quickly I composed myself. I opened the door and went to the closet to get my clothes and get changed. "Mira?!" Mark exclaimed in shock and I can hear them scrambling to get away from each other. "Oh, don't mind me. I'll just get some of my clothes and stay in the guest room. The bed is soiled so I'd hate to sleep on it." I said dismissively and packed a small bag, throwing the things I'd need and stopped my hands from shaking. I heard Mark scoffing in disbelief. "Look how she became a shell of herself. She just found out I'm having an

Hawkins's POV "Should I park, sir?" Jim, my driver, asked me when I got out of the car. "No need. I will be out in a few minutes and we'll have to go to Manhattan right away." I told him with a smile and walked my way inside Samsoon for a business offer. "Good morning, sir. How may I help you today?" A blonde woman with a friendly smile asked me when I approached the reception. "Yes, I am here for my appointment with Mr. Soon. I am from Pride Tech." Hearing the name, the woman instantly checked her boss' schedule and allowed me entry. I was escorted by one of their employees who opened the electric doors using their card keys and I can say that I am impressed with their technology. Judging by the design, I can guess that it was Lee Tech, the number one leading technology company, who built it. Pride Tech is still a long way considering I only built it five years ago, but we already made it to the list next to them. Three more years and I am confident that we can surpass them. No

Miracle's POV Now that my head cleared a little, and I no longer feel the need to jump, I noticed a few things, and shame is starting to sink in. What the hell did I just ask? "You know what? Forget that part. I don't know what I was thinking, but I swear I just slipped. It must be the wine," I licked my lips and put my hands on my hips with a heavy sigh. "I was just a little... lost earlier and I didn't mean it." I continued, trying to sound convincing and looked up at him again. My first impression of the man is he was way too outspoken and honest for my liking. I admit, he was gorgeous, like the type of man that you will see in movies and girls will swoon over with gorgeous brown locks, brown eyes and full lips. He towers over me and I am not even that short at 5'6. He has a lean body but he effortlessly pulled me up earlier. "People often blame alcohol for expressing what's really on their minds and hearts." He responded, clearly not believing me. "What you were about to do i

Mark proudly said and hugged Blair in front of me. I did not miss the way she smirked at me when she thought no one else could see. I was calm on the outside, but I was breaking all over again inside. I was a screaming mess and it's taking everything in me not to break down in front of them. My hands started shaking and my eyes brimming with tears. My eyes shifted to my so-called father who is just letting Mark insult his own daughter in front of him. But then again, he always favored Blair over me. Ever since she came to this house, she became the princess. His favorite child. She was the good and smart daughter while I was the worthless one. "I didn't expect you to be the father of the year, Dad, you never were, but you could have at least told me about me if you knew," I started, my voice breaking. "Three y

Chapter Fifty-Two: Back to ZeroMiracle's POVAside from teaching major subjects, I also chose to teach other subjects such as arts. When I was still a student, I liked every subject and I was one of the best students my teachers had. To simply put, I was a school nerd and a teacher's pet. I admit I was, but in my defense, it was the only way I cling onto when my own family ignored my existence. It was a way to seek attention and some validation, which I now realize is wrong. "Wow, that is a nice drawing, Pete. Good job." I praised one of my students for drawing the ocean. I smiled at his drawing, and my smile went wider when I was reminded of my first time with Hawkins. He was so romantic this morning. He was like a golden retriever turned into a human by how clingy and sweet he was. He made love to me twice, helped me choose my clothes and blow-dried my hair. My smile faded a little when I remembered that I shouldn't be feeling happy the way I do because this feeling and moment i

Chapter Fifty-One: Tear Me ApartHawkins' POV"You have an interview with Press Mag at ten later, Mr. Pride." Lizzie reminded me as she listed my agenda for today and I groaned under my breath. "I hate interviews." I grumbled, but remembered I was in a good mood today. "But it can be good for our exposure. I mean, a short interview wouldn't hurt, right?"Lizzie gave me a strange look, probably wondering why I'm in such a good mood when I am often scowling and yelling at everyone to do their work. Honestly, I am not like that most of the time, but I admit that I can be a tyrant boss when their work is untidy and half-assed. I give my hundred percent to work every day so I expect my people to do the same. We are where we are because of hard work, talent and perseverance. Not just plain luck. Before the clock could hit ten, the staff was already in my office, setting up their stuff. I usually give them thirty minutes of my spare time at most when the questions are good. Every minute o

Chapter Fifty: Let's Make it RealHawkins' POVMiracle let out a sharp gasp, looking at me in disbelief, as if I just had grown another head. I smiled softly, wiping away her tears and kissing her cheeks. "Don't cry anymore.""You–You what? But... But why?" She started struggling with words and I chuckled lightly. "Why? I am not incapable of love, you know? Did you think my heart is made out of stone?" I said, acting hurt, closing one eye and looking at her with the other. Miracle sniffed and her mouth tugged in a smile. "Is that why you're ignoring me? Because you realized you are head over heels in love with me?""You're exaggerating." She pouted slightly, avoiding my eyes. "I... I was just afraid that things will end between us because I fell in love with you and I can't..." She stopped herself, looking back at me, an unknown emotion showing on her face. "You can't what?"She shook her head, swallowing and sighing under her breath. She slept in her own room, avoided interacting with me and I tried to understand she was busy with work. But then I started to notice that she will leave for work before me and will come home after me. Something she never did before. We still eat dinner together and we will exchange a few words before she rushes to her room, leaving me wondering what is happening with her. It didn't help that I was busy with work myself because Tom Weller himself formally sent an invitation to me, asking me if I was interested to co-create a product with him and of course I grabbed the chance! In fact, he invited me to his company so we can talk in person and I am planning to take Miracle on a two-day trip to London. "I mentioned that Tom reached out to me, right? Chapter Forty-Eight: I have Fallen In Love With HimMiracle's POV"This isn't the kind of fun I had in mind when I came here." Hawk said while panting in between. I stifled a laugh while looking at his disheveled and dirty appearance, far from how handsome and neat he looked when he arrived earlier. He removed his jacket, leaving him in his white shirt and slacks. He was sweating and he had dirt all over, even his face. "And what kind of fun did you have in mind, Mr. Pride?" I asked him while our team around us was trying so hard to catch a chicken. We are the second group and while the first group caught three chickens in less than ten minutes, our team has yet to catch a single one and it's been eight minutes. "Maybe try the kissing booth, beating the youngsters out there or maybe finding the nearest janitor's closet and fu—" I widened my eyes at him before he could finish his sentence, motioning for him to shut his mouth and gesturing around us. The pervert only smirked and we
