Mr Masked Man

THE MASKED MAN’S POV

I sat bored, staring at the man before me, wriggled in pain. He was missing four fingers in his right hand, all thanks to me.

"No matter what you do to me, I won't say a word," he groaned, his voice raspy and cracked. His face was puffy and swollen. Blood trickled from his lips and nostrils.

I gave an evil smirk through my mask. "Not like I give a damn about you though, but for the sake of this matter, you are going to talk, or I’ll make sure to kill your entire family before your very eyes." I threatened him with my lips pulled up in a smirk.

His jaw dropped slightly. "You will never get away with that." He coughed, blood splattering on my boots.

"Well, you will see." I said casually, my smile gone. I stood up, adjusting my long black coat.

"If you're not going to talk, by the time my men are done with you, you will spill everything." I smirked and turned to my men. "Make sure he talks."

I headed towards the entrance of the underground. I hadn't made it far when I heard a piercing scream. I turned swiftly to behold a knife stabbed into his stomach. He had killed himself.

"Clean up the mess," I told my men, like what just happened was normal. Of course, it was normal. My life revolves around constant deaths. Killing is nothing to me. Though I hate to admit it, I didn't kill this one.

"Sir, what about his family?" One of my men asked.

"Don't touch them." I said coldly and casually walked away.

I slipped into my penthouse, and the moment I stepped into my bedroom, my eyes caught the scene playing on the camera.

Growling under my nose, I briskly left my penthouse, scaling through the woods. In no time, I was at the house of Alpha Nathan.

Knowing my way around, I slipped through the back entrance, where there would be fewer guards. I blended with the walls as I skillfully navigated my way through. Listening from far away, I found out she was all alone and could be sleeping.

Opening the door, I quietly walked in and settled on the bed beside her. I felt her temperature and realized she was burning up so high. Whatever she had taken was doing some serious damage. Luckily, some drugs had been given to her.

Leaning in, I sniffed her breath; it was wolfsbane poison, and it wasn't intended to kill her but to scare her.

"Elsa," I said softly, and I brushed her hair, feeling the tenderness of her soft skin.

"I'm sorry," I muttered. "I was negligent, and that brought this upon you." She stirred and murmured incoherent words. Her eyelids fluttered open, slowly revealing deep, dark gray eyes looking at me questioningly. "Who are you?"

"Shhhh!" I placed my thumbs in her mouth. "Don't ask questions, just sleep."

She nodded and closed her eyes. I let her sleep as I caressed her skin.

You might be wondering who the hell I am and how I know Elsa.

Well, I'm the dude who has watched over her for the past three years. I knew her every move. Why she was in this place and what her mission is. I'm not stalking her; I'm just making sure she is safe.

Though it pricks my heart to see her flirt with Ezekiel, I know when this is all over. I'm going to come out in the open and announce my love to her.

I believe I'm the only one who could give her the world she deserves.

I'm not your regular dude, but a man in the shadows who deals secretly in an underground business. I have lots of enemies. Funny how you will see me in the crowd and you won't sniff me out. That shows how complex my duality is.

I'm not hard to find; it's just that no one has looked enough.

*********

A few hours passed, and all she did was sleep peacefully while I watched over her. It was almost dawn. A message came into my phone, jolting my attention away from her.

"It was a maid who poisoned the water.' My fist clenched as I read the message. My grip on the phone tightened, imagining it to be the b!tch's neck.

"Get her!" I typed and sent. I knew deep in my core that the maid didn't act on her own accord. Someone was behind it.

"Calm your horses down; you don't want to go berserk in here." I cautioned my wolf, who was threatening to take over our bodies. I stroked Elsa's cheek; her chest rose and fell lightly, giving me warmth.

"I will make sure no harm comes to you." I whispered and pulled the sheet over her. With a long stroll to the window, I gently opened it and slid down, blending with the darkness.

"I'll be back again." I muttered to myself.

I had my men waiting for me by the time I returned. They bowed and filled me in on what had happened while I was away.

"The girl?" I questioned them sternly.

"She is tied up in the dungeon."One answered nervously.

"I'm in a good mood, so I do not want to spoil it with baggage like her. Deal with it yourself." I pointed at the leader of my men, Daryl, to take care of the maid.

"And make sure to send a warning note to whoever sent her." I ordered firmly.

My men nodded solemnly and took their leave, leaving me all alone to contemplate on what to do next.
