THE MASKED MAN’S POV
I sat bored, staring at the man before me, wriggled in pain. He was missing four fingers in his right hand, all thanks to me. "No matter what you do to me, I won't say a word," he groaned, his voice raspy and cracked. His face was puffy and swollen. Blood trickled from his lips and nostrils. I gave an evil smirk through my mask. "Not like I give a damn about you though, but for the sake of this matter, you are going to talk, or I’ll make sure to kill your entire family before your very eyes." I threatened him with my lips pulled up in a smirk. His jaw dropped slightly. "You will never get away with that." He coughed, blood splattering on my boots. "Well, you will see." I said casually, my smile gone. I stood up, adjusting my long black coat. "If you're not going to talk, by the time my men are done with you, you will spill everything." I smirked and turned to my men. "Make sure he talks." I headed towards the entrance of the underground. I hadn't made it far when I heard a piercing scream. I turned swiftly to behold a knife stabbed into his stomach. He had killed himself. "Clean up the mess," I told my men, like what just happened was normal. Of course, it was normal. My life revolves around constant deaths. Killing is nothing to me. Though I hate to admit it, I didn't kill this one. "Sir, what about his family?" One of my men asked. "Don't touch them." I said coldly and casually walked away. I slipped into my penthouse, and the moment I stepped into my bedroom, my eyes caught the scene playing on the camera. Growling under my nose, I briskly left my penthouse, scaling through the woods. In no time, I was at the house of Alpha Nathan. Knowing my way around, I slipped through the back entrance, where there would be fewer guards. I blended with the walls as I skillfully navigated my way through. Listening from far away, I found out she was all alone and could be sleeping. Opening the door, I quietly walked in and settled on the bed beside her. I felt her temperature and realized she was burning up so high. Whatever she had taken was doing some serious damage. Luckily, some drugs had been given to her. Leaning in, I sniffed her breath; it was wolfsbane poison, and it wasn't intended to kill her but to scare her. "Elsa," I said softly, and I brushed her hair, feeling the tenderness of her soft skin. "I'm sorry," I muttered. "I was negligent, and that brought this upon you." She stirred and murmured incoherent words. Her eyelids fluttered open, slowly revealing deep, dark gray eyes looking at me questioningly. "Who are you?" "Shhhh!" I placed my thumbs in her mouth. "Don't ask questions, just sleep." She nodded and closed her eyes. I let her sleep as I caressed her skin. You might be wondering who the hell I am and how I know Elsa. Well, I'm the dude who has watched over her for the past three years. I knew her every move. Why she was in this place and what her mission is. I'm not stalking her; I'm just making sure she is safe. Though it pricks my heart to see her flirt with Ezekiel, I know when this is all over. I'm going to come out in the open and announce my love to her. I believe I'm the only one who could give her the world she deserves. I'm not your regular dude, but a man in the shadows who deals secretly in an underground business. I have lots of enemies. Funny how you will see me in the crowd and you won't sniff me out. That shows how complex my duality is. I'm not hard to find; it's just that no one has looked enough. ********* A few hours passed, and all she did was sleep peacefully while I watched over her. It was almost dawn. A message came into my phone, jolting my attention away from her. "It was a maid who poisoned the water.' My fist clenched as I read the message. My grip on the phone tightened, imagining it to be the b!tch's neck. "Get her!" I typed and sent. I knew deep in my core that the maid didn't act on her own accord. Someone was behind it. "Calm your horses down; you don't want to go berserk in here." I cautioned my wolf, who was threatening to take over our bodies. I stroked Elsa's cheek; her chest rose and fell lightly, giving me warmth. "I will make sure no harm comes to you." I whispered and pulled the sheet over her. With a long stroll to the window, I gently opened it and slid down, blending with the darkness. "I'll be back again." I muttered to myself. I had my men waiting for me by the time I returned. They bowed and filled me in on what had happened while I was away. "The girl?" I questioned them sternly. "She is tied up in the dungeon."One answered nervously. "I'm in a good mood, so I do not want to spoil it with baggage like her. Deal with it yourself." I pointed at the leader of my men, Daryl, to take care of the maid. "And make sure to send a warning note to whoever sent her." I ordered firmly. My men nodded solemnly and took their leave, leaving me all alone to contemplate on what to do next.ELSA'S POV: With a groan, I flipped over to my side and trembled violently at the sudden headache I was feeling. The sunlight filtered in through the small gaps between the slats of the blinds into the room, blinding me momentarily.I hissed in pain and propped up my shoulders."Someone's awake." Mina's voice startled me. I didn't even realize anyone was in the room with me."What happened?" I groaned again."You passed out after drinking some water yesterday night," she replied, studying me briefly. "That's all I know. The pack doctor only mentioned the problem to the Alpha." She explained.I bit my lips in deep concentration, trying to figure out what had happened, but the memory of last night was all foggy. I gave up after many attempts with no success."Hmm," I hummed in response and I got my ass off the bed. A scent whizzed past my nose, and I inhaled deeply, trying to identify it. "Why are you sniffing the air?" Mina questioned, her brows furrowed in confusion.I looked at he
EZEKIEL'S POV:"Ezekiel?" Father's voice echoed, resonating with the walls of my bed chambers. Elsa looked like she was going to pass out."Behave as if you're buttoning my shirt," I whispered quickly. Luckily, my shirt was half-buttoned down. She caught on quickly and hurriedly did as she was told."Your maid is here." Father asked as he slowly approached me.With a small smile, I brushed Elsa aside and turned to Father."Yes. She was helping me with my buttons." I replied with ease, trying not to give myself away.Father acknowledged what I said but had his gaze on Elsa for a while before clearing his throat."I need to talk to you in my study." He stated and casually walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.The moment we were left alone, Elsa breathed out shakily, patting her chest in the process."If your father finds out what we've been doing, I will be dead meat." She stated it as a matter of fact, and my heart sank in despair. My wolf growled lowly and went silent i
ELSA'S POV:I laid on the bed, counting the seconds, staring blankly at the ceiling. My mind was going back and forth.I couldn't seem to forget the look Alpha Nathan gave me when he was leaving Ezekiel's room. It was like he knew something."I just have to be careful," I mumbled, facing the wall. Restlessness of sorts suddenly set in, causing me to spring to my feet immediately.Quietly opening the door, I saw the long hallway empty, and I took a deep breath before closing the door and tip-toeing my way out. A breath of fresh air on my skin will do me some good.I made it past Rue's chambers but halted in my tracks as I heard voices coming from her bedroom. I knew it was bad to eavesdrop, but curiosity got the better of me."How come you're suddenly pregnant?" Ezekiel asked, and my heart twitched like I had been pierced with thousands of needles simultaneously. I felt faint.'RUE IS PREGNANT?'"You're not seriously asking me that question. You've forgotten how you shot your cum insid
ELSA'S POV:Nothing had changed in the past few days except that the security around the pack had been tightened. One of the new maids recruited was found dead at the border between the Blood Moon Pack and a neighboring pack. Alpha Nathan believes it's a war signal; however, he had sent words across, and the neighboring pack said they had nothing to do with the death of the maid. But still, he didn't take it lightly.Rue has been parading herself as the pack's future Luna. Her pregnancy had gotten to the ears of every single member of the Blood Moon Pack.I could say I have made quite a bit of progress with Ezekiel. He seemed to be wrapped around my fingers, ready to defend me.Sometimes I feel sorry for him, but after remembering what his father had done to mine, any pang of regret in my heart disappears. Sad to say, I haven't got anything on the Shadow Man or who wants me dead.My phone rang, disrupting my thoughts. Ezekiel looked up from his tap and stared at me before going back
ELSA'S POV:"Mr. Diago told us to do the job tonight," one person said, and another added, "Ezekiel needs to die ASAP."I felt a lump in my throat, and a cold shiver ran down my spine, making me feel nauseous."Don’t you think it would look too suspicious to kill him at the hunting grounds?" someone else said, breaking the tense silence.I looked around, unsure of what to do. I couldn’t run to Ezekiel and warn him that his so-called friends were plotting to kill him. Plus, I had no plan to stop them on my own."I think Dylan should get close to him, and then we can kill him in a less obvious way," the last voice suggested."We should go back to Mr. Diago and come up with a new plan," the first person said, and the others agreed."I need to at least see their faces," I thought, gathering my courage and taking a step forward. My body was shaking from fear, and I stumbled as I walked.A few steps later, I fell hard with a loud thud."Who's there?" One of them yelled, and my heart raced.
ELSA'S POV: Putting my suitcase to stop, I glanced up at the mighty white building before me, stunned by its height and beauty and the way it glowed in the afternoon sunlight. This was the house of Alpha Nathan, the Alpha of the Blood moon Pack. Disregarding the churning voice in my head, reminding me the reason I was right there at that moment, I let my excitement run wide. "Gracious good, I have landed myself a goldmine." I chuckled with delight and proceeded to knock on the big gate when it flew open and a Limo was about to be driven out. The car stopped right beside me and the window of the back seat wined down, revealing a face as handsome as no one's I'd seen before. My jaw dropped at his beauty and I was pretty sure my eyes were about to pop right out of their sockets. I didn't even notice my mouth gaping because holy shit, this guy looked like he belonged in one of those Greek myth paintings or something, except with better muscles, of course, and a body that made any
ELSA'S POV: Apparently I wasn't the only new recruit in the household of Alpha Nathan. As we gathered in the long hall waiting to be addressed and welcomed by Alpha Nathan and his Luna, Isabella, I kept balancing my weight on my two feet, growing irritatedly by every passing seconds. My anger kept bubbling up and no matter how hard I tried to distract myself, I couldn't."Alpha Nathan is a monster. He is the reason you're an Orphan. Never forget that." Mr Graham's words echoed in my head. These particular words had become a constant reminder of why my life had been a hard one. The solemn reason I was there pretending to be a maid."I'll make sure that this household pays severally," I assured myself the same minute Alpha Nathan and Luna Isabella walked into the hall. They both looked better in person. The pictures of them I was shown did no justice to how great they were looking. They both look exceptionally gorgeous with mild Auras emanating from them. Safe to say you would th
ELSA'S POV: I kept thinking maybe Luna Isabella was out of her mind when she said I was assigned as Ezekiel's personal maid. Why would a grown ass dude need a maid or could it be she knows who I am?But there was no way anyone would link me to Amber and Damien of Crest Lake Pack. In fact, my Pack has gone into extinction. I could swear that I’m the only surviving member of Crest Lake Pack so she wouldn't know who I am. “Just take it as the odds are working in your favor. Being his personal maid would give you the opportunity to make him fall for you and then carry out your plan.” I assured myself, beaming at the rare opportunity presented to me in a platter of gold.I quickly fished out my phone and dialed Mr Graham's number.“Elsa?” His stoic voice came at the end of the phone.“You settled well?” He further asked.“Yes, I have been assigned as Ezekiel's personal maid.” I told him and from the shifting sound in the background, I could swear he took the news well.“That's great.
