ELSA'S POV:
I had no idea what I had done, but it was pretty bad to get Alpha Nathan coming to my quarters and ordering that I should be dragged out in the field. With a little thud, the guards that had seized me let go of me, and I hit my butt so hard on the rocky ground. All the servants had gathered, and in the midst of the crowd was Rue smirking at me, and I had a feeling that my predicament had everything to do with her. "Whip her until she has no legs to walk." Alpha Nathan commanded and turned to leave when I spoke up. "Please, sir, what did I do?" I needed to know what my offense was. He stared down at me with a begrudged look and said, "Your only crime was existing." His tone was so cold that I could feel the chills emanating from him. Swallowing hard, I watched him leave and got ready to be flogged. The guard on my right raised his hand, about to hit me, when I caught sight of a man in the crowd. He was in all black, with his face hidden in the shadows. I blinked twice, and he was gone. The impact of the whip sent my mind jolting to reality, and that's when I realized I had been dreaming. Mina stood akimbo, grinning at me with a cane in her hand. Obviously, it was the impact of her cane that had woken me up. "What's that for?" I yelled and struggled to get out of bed. "You were not waking up. I needed something hard to wake you up; that's why I used the cane." She explained and waved the cane around to emphasize her point. I sighed and quickly changed my damp dress into a dry one. I was drenched in my own sweat. "Why are you here?" I asked when she didn't say anything after a while. "I came to fetch you; you and I are going to the market." "On whose order?" I asked, not feeling so happy about the news. I thought I was only supposed to run errands for Ezekiel. "On Ms. Bennett's order, She says since Ezekiel isn't around and Rue had let you off her hook, she couldn't afford to have you lie around all day." Mina grinned widely, clearly pleased. “Where did Ezekiel go?” I asked, eagerly waiting for her response. Mina smirked and turned her head away. “I have no idea.” Something told me she knew; she just didn't want to tell me. I rolled my eyes as my mind went back to the dream I just had. 'Your only crime was existing' What could that mean? And the man in the shadow? "Let's go now; the driver is waiting." Mina said, startling me a bit. A frown crossed my face, showing how much she was being a pest. "What?" She raised her brows in question, dragging me out of the room. "Don't look at me like that." She threw her nose in the air and shoved me outside, making me stumble. I gave her an annoyed look and walked out without saying anything. The engine of the car was running by the time we got outside, and the driver looked like he was tired of waiting for us. The driver smiled upon seeing us. I returned his smile and got into the car, Mina following through. ******* "Elsa?" Ms. Bennett called out from the corner of the kitchen, where she sat supervising the activities going on in the kitchen. Since Mina and I returned from the market, we have had no rest. It's draining. I didn't think being a maid could be this challenging. "Kindly take this tray to the dining hall." She said and pointed at a tray filled with glasses and a mug of orange juice. I nodded and did as I was told. All the kitchen staff set the dining hall ready, and a few of the maids were ordered to wait around, I included. One by one, Alpha Nathan, Luna Isabella, and Rue trooped into the hall, each commanding an aura of dominance. The sight of them inked something in me, and I wished the ground would open and swallow them. No word could describe how much I hate each soul sitting on that table. "You!" Rue turned to me with a frown. "Pass me the salt." She ordered sharply, which made me cringe. I passed the salt and walked back to my position. Looking up, I found Alpha's stare on me, like he was judging me, but there was something different behind his icy glare. There wasn't hatred, anger, or even malice, but rather curiosity. It made me shiver. Alpha Nathan cleared his throat. "Elsa, help me with the salt as well." "Yes Alpha." I replied and stepped up to the table, took the sait, and placed it in front of him before I retreated. Afterwards, the dinner hall went silent as they dived into their meal. Half an hour later, they were through with their dinner. After we cleared the table, I walked back to my room, ready to go to bed. Slamming the door closed, I reached for the jar of water and poured myself some water, then sat in the corner of the room and reminisced over my day and how I couldn't wait to get this job done. "It's just a matter of time; every one of you will pay." I mumbled and finished the water in a gulp. I pushed the glass away, and suddenly, like an electric shock, my body went up in flames. My skin was tingling and itching, and I began to see flashes of white light. The next thing I knew, I was lying flat on the floor, and my eyes were open wide. I heard screams and yells echoing in my ears, and then everything went dark.THE MASKED MAN’S POVI sat bored, staring at the man before me, wriggled in pain. He was missing four fingers in his right hand, all thanks to me."No matter what you do to me, I won't say a word," he groaned, his voice raspy and cracked. His face was puffy and swollen. Blood trickled from his lips and nostrils.I gave an evil smirk through my mask. "Not like I give a damn about you though, but for the sake of this matter, you are going to talk, or I’ll make sure to kill your entire family before your very eyes." I threatened him with my lips pulled up in a smirk. His jaw dropped slightly. "You will never get away with that." He coughed, blood splattering on my boots. "Well, you will see." I said casually, my smile gone. I stood up, adjusting my long black coat."If you're not going to talk, by the time my men are done with you, you will spill everything." I smirked and turned to my men. "Make sure he talks."I headed towards the entrance of the underground. I hadn't made it far when
ELSA'S POV: With a groan, I flipped over to my side and trembled violently at the sudden headache I was feeling. The sunlight filtered in through the small gaps between the slats of the blinds into the room, blinding me momentarily.I hissed in pain and propped up my shoulders."Someone's awake." Mina's voice startled me. I didn't even realize anyone was in the room with me."What happened?" I groaned again."You passed out after drinking some water yesterday night," she replied, studying me briefly. "That's all I know. The pack doctor only mentioned the problem to the Alpha." She explained.I bit my lips in deep concentration, trying to figure out what had happened, but the memory of last night was all foggy. I gave up after many attempts with no success."Hmm," I hummed in response and I got my ass off the bed. A scent whizzed past my nose, and I inhaled deeply, trying to identify it. "Why are you sniffing the air?" Mina questioned, her brows furrowed in confusion.I looked at he
EZEKIEL'S POV:"Ezekiel?" Father's voice echoed, resonating with the walls of my bed chambers. Elsa looked like she was going to pass out."Behave as if you're buttoning my shirt," I whispered quickly. Luckily, my shirt was half-buttoned down. She caught on quickly and hurriedly did as she was told."Your maid is here." Father asked as he slowly approached me.With a small smile, I brushed Elsa aside and turned to Father."Yes. She was helping me with my buttons." I replied with ease, trying not to give myself away.Father acknowledged what I said but had his gaze on Elsa for a while before clearing his throat."I need to talk to you in my study." He stated and casually walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.The moment we were left alone, Elsa breathed out shakily, patting her chest in the process."If your father finds out what we've been doing, I will be dead meat." She stated it as a matter of fact, and my heart sank in despair. My wolf growled lowly and went silent i
ELSA'S POV:I laid on the bed, counting the seconds, staring blankly at the ceiling. My mind was going back and forth.I couldn't seem to forget the look Alpha Nathan gave me when he was leaving Ezekiel's room. It was like he knew something."I just have to be careful," I mumbled, facing the wall. Restlessness of sorts suddenly set in, causing me to spring to my feet immediately.Quietly opening the door, I saw the long hallway empty, and I took a deep breath before closing the door and tip-toeing my way out. A breath of fresh air on my skin will do me some good.I made it past Rue's chambers but halted in my tracks as I heard voices coming from her bedroom. I knew it was bad to eavesdrop, but curiosity got the better of me."How come you're suddenly pregnant?" Ezekiel asked, and my heart twitched like I had been pierced with thousands of needles simultaneously. I felt faint.'RUE IS PREGNANT?'"You're not seriously asking me that question. You've forgotten how you shot your cum insid
ELSA'S POV:Nothing had changed in the past few days except that the security around the pack had been tightened. One of the new maids recruited was found dead at the border between the Blood Moon Pack and a neighboring pack. Alpha Nathan believes it's a war signal; however, he had sent words across, and the neighboring pack said they had nothing to do with the death of the maid. But still, he didn't take it lightly.Rue has been parading herself as the pack's future Luna. Her pregnancy had gotten to the ears of every single member of the Blood Moon Pack.I could say I have made quite a bit of progress with Ezekiel. He seemed to be wrapped around my fingers, ready to defend me.Sometimes I feel sorry for him, but after remembering what his father had done to mine, any pang of regret in my heart disappears. Sad to say, I haven't got anything on the Shadow Man or who wants me dead.My phone rang, disrupting my thoughts. Ezekiel looked up from his tap and stared at me before going back
ELSA'S POV:"Mr. Diago told us to do the job tonight," one person said, and another added, "Ezekiel needs to die ASAP."I felt a lump in my throat, and a cold shiver ran down my spine, making me feel nauseous."Don’t you think it would look too suspicious to kill him at the hunting grounds?" someone else said, breaking the tense silence.I looked around, unsure of what to do. I couldn’t run to Ezekiel and warn him that his so-called friends were plotting to kill him. Plus, I had no plan to stop them on my own."I think Dylan should get close to him, and then we can kill him in a less obvious way," the last voice suggested."We should go back to Mr. Diago and come up with a new plan," the first person said, and the others agreed."I need to at least see their faces," I thought, gathering my courage and taking a step forward. My body was shaking from fear, and I stumbled as I walked.A few steps later, I fell hard with a loud thud."Who's there?" One of them yelled, and my heart raced.
ELSA'S POV: Putting my suitcase to stop, I glanced up at the mighty white building before me, stunned by its height and beauty and the way it glowed in the afternoon sunlight. This was the house of Alpha Nathan, the Alpha of the Blood moon Pack. Disregarding the churning voice in my head, reminding me the reason I was right there at that moment, I let my excitement run wide. "Gracious good, I have landed myself a goldmine." I chuckled with delight and proceeded to knock on the big gate when it flew open and a Limo was about to be driven out. The car stopped right beside me and the window of the back seat wined down, revealing a face as handsome as no one's I'd seen before. My jaw dropped at his beauty and I was pretty sure my eyes were about to pop right out of their sockets. I didn't even notice my mouth gaping because holy shit, this guy looked like he belonged in one of those Greek myth paintings or something, except with better muscles, of course, and a body that made any
ELSA'S POV: Apparently I wasn't the only new recruit in the household of Alpha Nathan. As we gathered in the long hall waiting to be addressed and welcomed by Alpha Nathan and his Luna, Isabella, I kept balancing my weight on my two feet, growing irritatedly by every passing seconds. My anger kept bubbling up and no matter how hard I tried to distract myself, I couldn't."Alpha Nathan is a monster. He is the reason you're an Orphan. Never forget that." Mr Graham's words echoed in my head. These particular words had become a constant reminder of why my life had been a hard one. The solemn reason I was there pretending to be a maid."I'll make sure that this household pays severally," I assured myself the same minute Alpha Nathan and Luna Isabella walked into the hall. They both looked better in person. The pictures of them I was shown did no justice to how great they were looking. They both look exceptionally gorgeous with mild Auras emanating from them. Safe to say you would th
