Fallen Deeply Inlove

ELSA'S POV:

With a groan, I flipped over to my side and trembled violently at the sudden headache I was feeling. The sunlight filtered in through the small gaps between the slats of the blinds into the room, blinding me momentarily.

I hissed in pain and propped up my shoulders.

"Someone's awake." Mina's voice startled me. I didn't even realize anyone was in the room with me.

"What happened?" I groaned again.

"You passed out after drinking some water yesterday night," she replied, studying me briefly. "That's all I know. The pack doctor only mentioned the problem to the Alpha." She explained.

I bit my lips in deep concentration, trying to figure out what had happened, but the memory of last night was all foggy. I gave up after many attempts with no success.

"Hmm," I hummed in response and I got my ass off the bed. A scent whizzed past my nose, and I inhaled deeply, trying to identify it.

"Why are you sniffing the air?" Mina questioned, her brows furrowed in confusion.

I looked at her blankly before realizing I'd been snuffling. My cheeks flushed pink. "Um." I paused and looked away. "Leave me alone." I was suddenly angry for no reason.

"Well, I came to inform you that Ms. Bennett said that since Ezekiel is back, you can't come to the kitchen any longer." She delivered and left, flipping her hair on her way out.

My eyes scowled around, and I found the wall clock, which read 9:40.

How come they left me sleeping for so long? I wondered why I changed into the maid's uniform.

What had happened might have been pretty bad for them to let me sleep late into the morning.

Tying my hair into a bun, I left the room in a hurry, and by no time I was at Ezekiel's front door clutching a broom and dustpan.

I listened carefully and breathed in relief when I didn't hear any movement in his room.

I knocked twice, yet there was no response. I needed to confirm if he was in or not.

I pushed the door open and went in, quietly closing the door behind me. Without wasting time, I got busy, and before long, I was done cleaning his room. I rushed out to get his coffee and returned soon enough.

Waiting patiently at a corner, I began counting the minutes in wait for Ezekiel.

An hour went by, yet there was no sign of him. Going back to my quarter was not an option since my only job here was to attend to Ezekiel. I continued to wait. Unfortunately, my feet gave in to fatigue, and I sat down.

*******

Landing on my back, a gasp escaped my mouth.

"Ouch!" I mumbled and looked around in confusion. I was still in Ezekiel's room, and I had fallen from his couch.

"How did I get on it?" I pondered and stood up.

"Get me water to drink." Ezekiel said from behind me, startling me a bit.

"You're back?" I asked instead of going to do what I was told to do.

He nodded and watched me kneely. "Next time you feel sleepy while you're here, sleep on the couch." He said, his voice casual, like me sleeping in his room wouldn't be a big deal.

"Ms. Rue might chop off my head, you know." I smirked and ran my hands on his chest.

He gently helped my hand in place, staring deeply into my eyes. "She wouldn't dare."

With that, he let go of my hand and strolled to the big desk at the far end of the room. Settling behind it, he looked up and said, "I was just gone for a day, and you almost died."

I had nothing to say in regard to that, so I retort to getting the water he had asked for.

"What are you doing?" I popped the question, handing him the glass of water.

"Elsa, go sit on that couch and don't say a word." He ordered, and I found myself cowering to his command despite my resistance. It felt like I was being compelled by him.

I wasn't a member of this pack, so such shouldn't work on me.

For hours, Ezekiel did God know what while I sat and kept mute as he had commanded.

By the fifth hour, my stomach had started growling, and that's when I realized I hadn't eaten a thing.

As if on cue, the door opened, and maids tripped in with trays of different meals, a movable dining table, and two chairs.

"Set those by the corner." Ezekiel said this without looking up from his desk.

"Is Rue back?" He suddenly asked, lifting his head up for a moment before lowering it back.

"No, your highness." One of the maids replied and cast me a glance. The rest did the same thing before tripping out of the room.

"Let's eat." Ezekiel stated as he got to his feet, moving towards me.

I scoffed and threw my head away. "After you made me sit in silence for hours," I grumbled, not sparing him a glance.

He chuckled, and I tilted my head to face him. "You're my maid, you know?"

I had no idea where he was headed with that question, so I stayed silent and watched him.

"But I can't seem to treat you like one. It's like you've cast a spell on me." He whispered, his warm breath fanning my cheek.

I froze at his words, somehow confused.

"Has he fallen so deeply in love with me in just a few days?" I wondered silently to myself.

"I wonder what my girlfriend will do if she finds out what you have done to me." He said and let go of me.

"Wait what?" I asked in confusion. "What did I do to you?" I was suddenly lost because it felt like he was talking about something entirely different.

Circling him, I blocked his way.

"What did I do?" I repeated.

A devilish smirk graced his face, and he tanked me to himself. "This," he mumbled and leaned forward. That very moment, his door opened, and Alpha Nathan walked in.

We both froze in the air.
