Maddison P.O.V. It’s been days since I was brought to this horrid place, but so far it hasn’t been too bad, for some reason no one has tried to hurt me for information. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but so far it’s just been Rick who has been here a couple of times a day to try and talk to me. It seems he has given up for now, as he has not been by my cell so far. Looking out the small window, I would say it’s just around noon, give or take. He’s usually here in the morning, afternoon and evening, but some days he’ll be here more and some days less. How he can run a pack and be here so much is beyond me, but I fear he has abandoned them to his sister, which is just terrible on so many levels. He really is an awful Alpha. I don’t want to speak to him, which I made abundantly clear the first day when he welcomed me to hell. He has no idea what hell is, and this is not it. This is just an inconvenience. A bump in the road back to my mate. My thoughts sadden for a sec
Liam P.O.V. It didn’t pass as good news when I told my ranked members about their Luna, but there was really nothing we could do. Right there it was in the hands of our Goddess, and I needed to heal. It didn’t stop any of them contacting their friends in other packs to hear if they had gotten an unexpected visitor, but so far nothing had come up. Not until Clara spoke to an old school friend in the Red River pack. She says something happened a few days ago, and their Alpha said they were hosting a rogue girl important to Iron Mountain’s Alpha in their dungeon. No one dared ask questions, and thus they all just went on their merry way. Clara curses on the phone, and her friend asks a question to which she answers that the rogue is our Luna and my mate. I can hear the friend gasp, but there is nothing she or her allies can do. Clara learns a rebellion is underway in the Red River pack, to throw Alpha Tywin and his family out as rogues, so they can have an Alpha they won’t have to be
Maddison P.O.V. 20 minutes later we’re all gathered in the conference room. I had to go downstairs as some of our pack members wanted to see me for themselves before believing I was unharmed. I asked Selene if she would mind waiting, and she just shooed me out of the room. I guess that means she didn’t mind.Pack members had gathered at the staircase in the hall, and all of them cheered and hollered when they saw me with Liam. Liam. He has been strange since I came back with Selene. I know he blames himself, although there is nothing to be blamed for. He couldn’t know. His mom didn’t know. None of this is his fault, but he is an Alpha and therefore predisposed to think that the world is laying on his shoulders. I need to get through to him.As we were saying goodbye to the pack members, my mental barrier was bombarded with voices of all my animal friends. They must have been worried sick as well. I promise them I’ll be out in a little bit, but we have some human stuff we need to h
Rick P.O.V.“WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN SHE IS GONE?” Talyor shrugs while eyeing his father. Tywin has not said anything since I came in and sat down. They called me here early this morning. I was in the middle of fucking the brains out of my lover when the call came in, and I had to leave her unsatisfied. I promised to make it up to her. I know rumors about us are swirling around, but I must admit I don’t give a fuck. I will take whoever I want, whenever I want it! “Who exactly are you angry about, boy? The old bitch or the young pretty bitch?” Tywin asks, at last saying something. I sneer. “Both! But Maddie most.” I answer, looking between father and son. I have had Azlela held prisoner here for years without a hitch, and now suddenly she freed herself. If it was that easy, why didn’t she just do it earlier? “Well, I don’t blame you on the young one. She was a delicious piece of ass.” Tywin says, licking his lips. His eyes are shining with lust, and I have to contain myself so muc
Liam P.O.V.“Come on, Liam. We’re going dancing!” Maddie says, the smile on her face so adorable I can’t even do anything but follow her to the dance floor. “I’m not much of a dancer, baby.” I tell her, but she is absolutely not listening. She drags me to the middle of the grassy area where packmembers are dancing to their heart's content. Tonight has been wonderful so far. People have eaten, talked and laughed. They were surprised when we announced the last minute pack party, but everyone is having a great time. Maddie even made sure the guards who were going on night border patrol got some food before they were supposed to go. And she told the one’s coming from border patrol to go home and shower, and then come and eat if they felt like it. No one is forced to attend, which is the biggest deal for us - only those who want to be here are here. Adults and kids alike. “Luna! May I have this dance?” A boy asks, interrupting us. He looks at us shyly, blushing while his friends snicker
Maddison P.O.V.I have never seen Liam so angry. Shyla has been working behind our backs, and we have been so focused on other things to see her scheming. I cradle the sleeping boy in my arms, my heart so filled with joy at his blind trust in me. His breath is even and he even snores a little. “Liam, we’ll need to be smart about this. If Shyla, and I am sure she does, is working behind our backs, we’ll need to catch her in the act.” Gabriella snorts.“Sorry, Luna. But that is easy enough. She is doing it tonight at your party. A lot of my friends have been sent home ‘because the Alpha does not like the sight of them.’.” She says, and everyone just stares at the girl. “She has been doing what, now?” Liam asks, and I can feel the rage building up through our bond. Quickly I get their attention with a thought, hoping I can keep him from shedding blood at our BBQ. This was supposed to be a bonding experience for us all, and I won’t have that jealous cunt ruin it for us! “How about Gabr
Liam P.OV. When I wake up, Maddie is not by my side. The sun has not risen yet, and I tumble out of bed to go looking for my missing Luna, when something catches my eye. Liam. I couldn’t sleep, so I’m taking a walk outside to calm my nerves and hopefully sleep will come to me. I’m not going anywhere near the border, don’t worry.MaddieI hurriedly threw on some clothes and rushed down the stairs. She could have woken me, but she probably thought I would be mad or something. Downstairs I see Azlela walk outside, and as I follow her I see Maddie sitting on the stairs in front of the front door. I sigh internally with relief and observe my mate sitting with her former teacher and only confidant. They seem peaceful, and I don’t want to barge in and ruin it, but I also don’t want to leave and go back to sleep like nothing happened. I must have been lost in my own thoughts for a long time when Azlela spoke up. I didn't even realize Piper and her friend had joined them on the stairs.“Y
Maddison P.O.V. “Luna?” Someone shouts from behind me. I am outside speaking to some of my animal friends, taking in the fresh air. Liam wanted to deal with the whole Shyla situation, but his dad told me to let her sit and sweat for a day or two before visiting her, so he went back to his office to do some pack work. I told him I needed some air, and he understood. He knows how important the outdoors are to me, and how I use it to recharge, even though it’s not something I have been able to do for a long time. Everything has moved so fast since the kidnapping, so here I am enjoying the quiet and calm in the treelines - well within our pack borders so we don’t get any more unpleasant surprises. My guards move from the shadows of the trees, so the one coming knows they are there. They have been following me around ever since I came back and I’m not with Liam or one of the others. They try to be invisible, but sometimes that’s not possible. “Luna?!” The voice says again, and I turn a
Unknown P.O.V.All this time I have been playing double agent, I didn't think I would succeed in gaining the trust of the ranked members of this conspiracy, but now I am in more danger than ever before. All of them here think I am specifically on their side, but Maddie knows I am only ever on hers. She saved me when everything with the Coven we were visiting went down, and healed me despite the fact I had fought for the other side. She said she sensed I wasn’t a bad person and more or less had been forced to do something and she was right. They had held my siblings in captivity back at the Coven house, saying it didn’t matter if we were Coven members or visiting or not. Maddie saved our lives and I will follow her to the realm of the underworld and back again without question, so when she came to me with this mission right after we discovered where Jessica and Tywin were, I quickly agreed. But now the stakes are high
Jessica P.O.V.I can’t even believe it’s been 2 fucking years since that little bitch sent me living like a damn rogue! She had her brother instated as the new Alpha our MY pack, she took MY man and she had the audacity to be fucking smug about it! I want to scream, but it does not do anything to remove the shitty feeling of being out in the cold - literally.I quickly learned that Tywin has been banished from his pack and removed as Alpha, although he had given the title to his son to dodge any blowback, mainbitch Maddison made sure he was removed as former Alpha as well. I found him outside his old pack’s borders, fuming and raging. He had a few loyal pack members with him, as I had some with me. We made a deal to work together to get revenge. He wants both Liam and Maddison dead for what they did to his son, but I just want Maddie dead. I’ll make sure Liam suffers for the rest of his life as my mate. He’ll have to make up for so many mistakes it is going to be so much fun to make h
Maddison P.O.V. 2 years later “Micha Liam Blackmoon Nox, get back right this instant!” I yell down the hallway, shaking my head and chasing the naked toddler who is cackling like a madman. “Nooo!” He squeals, making a break for the stairs. I snatch him around his belly, lifting him into the air and dragging him back to the room. “Noo, momma. Bad momma! Unca Baller, unca Baller..” The kids whales, trying to break free from my one arm hold. He knows his uncle Balder and auntie Lillie are here, and he does not care to get dressed before greeting them. They are by far his favorite people, which kinda breaks Liam’s heart. I just find it incredibly funny. Back at the room Liam is bathing our twin girls - Mirage and Layla. They are one and a handful with Micha turning 2 today. “Baby, you need to get dressed before you can go see uncle Balder and aunt Lillie.” I tell Micha sternly, putting him on the change table. We are working on getting rid of the diaper, but so far we’ve come to the
Liam P.O.V.A few months later “OUT OF MY WAY! COMING THROUGH!” “ARGH!” I ran through the packhouse with Maddie in my arms. Her water broke in our room, and immediately after that the contractions hit. I run past Kendrick and Clara. ‘I’m getting her baby bag, just get my girl to the hospital safely. Ken is on his way with Mason.’ Clara mindlinks me as I turn the corner rushing into the hospital. “Alpha, in here.” Doc beckons me down the hall as Kendrick and Mason catch up with me. Doc just looks at them with her eyebrow raised. “Unless you want to see private parts of the Luna, I suggest you leave and wait in the waiting room Beta and Gamma.” I immediately growl, and the guys hurriedly disappear out into the hall again, closing the door behind them. Maddie whimpers on the bed, and I grab her hand, bringing it to my mouth. “You're so brave, baby.” I tell her, while the doc asks her to change out of her own clothes and into a hospital gown. I help her change, just as Clara and Soph
Maddie P.O.V.Thinking back to my wedding night always brings a smile to my face. People were having such a good time, and everyone seemed happy to celebrate with us. Liam was so attentive, and when he wasn’t dancing with his mom, my mom, his sister or some other female relative, he was by my side. But I was also a wanted woman, and I danced the night away with all of the guys, including my handsome husband. Baby kept kicking, and I couldn't have written it better myself. Late that night Liam took my hand and led me into the house, up the stairs to our room and asked me to change into the outfit on the bed. He kissed my knuckles with mischief shining in his beautiful eyes, and I laughed when he wiggled his eyebrows at me. He left me to change, passing Clara and Sophie on the way out. The girls help me out of my dress and into the outfit Liam has chosen for me. It consists of a dark navy blue flowy skirt, creamy white bottom shirt with short sleeves and a navy blue dress coat. They al
Liam P.O.V.“Are you ready, Alpha?” The priest asks, and I give him a nervous smile. “To be honest, I am not totally sure. But I’m ready to have Maddie as my wife. Does that count?” He laughs, placing his hand on my shoulder. “It is perfectly normal. And yes, that does count.” I take a shaky breath. I knew when I saw Maddie for the first time in that Book Cafe in town that I wanted to marry her one day. She was perfect in every way, and my one and only from that day. I know I’m one lucky bastard, and I will never take her or our child for granted. I have not forgotten the threat out there with Jessica, Tywin and Baxter on the loose, but we decided to forget them for a while. We have eyes on them, and they will warn us should they try anything. The music starts to play. I turn away from the priest. Two small flower girls walk down the aisle before Kendrick and Clara come down, followed by Mason and Sopie and my parents. A stray tear slide down my cheek at the sight. All the people
Maddie P.O.V.When we went our separate ways last night I dreaded sleeping without Liam. I know it’s tradition, and I believe in them, but this one just sucks so bad. We have slept together, in the same bed, since I got to the pack. If we didn’t go to bed at the same time, we still woke up together and vice versa. I got to our room and when I opened the door, the girls were in there with snacks, drinks and games. Push up mattresses on the floor and something paused on the TV. I stop dead in my tracks, looking at them really confused. “What are you doing here girls?” I ask, a small smile creeping on my lips. I have a feeling what they are doing here, and if I am right, I need to mindlink their poor mates and apologize. “Duh! We are not going to let you sleep alone tonight! We are going to stay here with you.” Sophie declares and the other nods. Something heavy disappears from my heart and shoulders. I really wasn’t all that prepared to sleep on my own, and the fact that my girls kne
Liam P.O.V. Waking in a guest room without my beautiful wife to be is a bit strange. For as long as Maddie has lived here, we have slept in the same bed. Never missing a night. But tradition calls for us to not see each other before the big event later this afternoon. I have slept pitiful without her, but it is what it is. ‘Are you ready for today, Ash?’ I ask my wolf, who had grumbled with dissatisfaction since we went to bed. ‘Yes, but it would have been better with her by our side all the time. Who says she is not going to disappear? I don’t like Maddie and Ember not being with us all the time.’ I chuckle at his answer. I totally get where he is coming from. I don’t like them not being with us all the time either, but we need to trust her to take care of herself and our child.‘I know dude, but we have to trust our mate. She is strong, and she can take care of herself. We will see her later today.’ Ash snorts. He doesn’t understand human traditions and thinks we are nuts to be a
Balder P.O.V.“Are you happy, sis?” I ask Maddie as we sway on the dance floor. She smiles at me, her eyes dancing. “More than I ever thought would be possible.” She responds, and it tucks at my heartstrings. “I should have protected you more back then.” She shakes her head. “Balder, you were as much a kid as I was. There was nothing you could have done.” I sigh. She is right, but the nagging feeling of having failed my little sister still haunts me, and it probably will for the rest of my life. “How are you and our parents getting along?” I ask. Maddie frowns. “It’s okay. We still have a long way to go.” I look into her eyes. She is such a pure person. She has everyone's best interest at heart, and she is trying so hard to forgive everyone who ever let her down - me, Richard, our parents. I just can’t help but feel we don’t deserve her forgiveness. “They really seem to have changed, but I don’t know if I truly trust them.” I tell her, twirling her out and in again. Liam is danc
