A white curtain brushed softly against my cheek as I starred out the window watching the gentle wind blow through the trees just outside. I sighed with annoyance. I knew I was in a dream, I don't know how but I knew that this place wasn't real. It was too calm, too surreal, too foggy, to be anything but a dream. All I could do was watch the trees from this window inside this fake nursery room. Whatever this room, this place, was I knew it was made of magic because I couldn't leave. There was no door to this room. All there was in this room was a crib, a rocking chair, an empty bookshelf, a simple grey rug on the wooden floors and this window draped with white curtains. The walls were a mint green, the blankets in the crib were a sunshine yellow with a simple brown teddy bear and a fluffy white cushion. Nothing changed. The only thing that really changed was my ever growing belly which I believed was the only thing keeping me sane. Judg

DmitriHe stared at the miserable grey tombstones, his parents' names engraved into the stones; Dmitri and Sara buried them that gloomy morning. It poured with rain then and it was pouring now. At this moment, though, Dmitri didn't care. The air was suddenly chiller, his breath a visible thick fog, it seemed that the world was growing colder by the day, almost as if the Moon Goddess, too, was grieving. However, mourning will have to wait because his anger was stronger than his grief. So much had been taken from him; Angel, his parents... It was all becoming too much to bear, but he knew that once he rescued his Angel then everything will be all right again. He had to believe that. His thoughts suddenly were interrupted by a sad, gentle voice. "I know they weren't perfect parents," Sara choked as she grabbed Dmitri's arm to hold for support, "but I think they did their best and I know they loved all of their children. All seventeen of

CarlaThe memory of the blood pooling in her hands was still etched into her mind, it refused to fade away. She remembered the last words her mother spoke to her before her parents and her grandparents perished in the explosions. "She's alive! She's safe, we can bring her home." Carla remembered how happy they all were, and she remembered that she was so excited to see her sister and to become an aunt to Angie's baby. But Carla lost the only other family she had left, their dead bodies burned until there was nothing but charred flesh and bones.Carla sat on the floor in a giant hallway inside what people were calling the Sanctuary with a blanket wrapped around her, her arms hugging her knees so tightly she could barely breathe. She may have been surrounded by hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Werewolves and Witches, but she has never felt more alone in her entire life. Her parents were dead. Her father, a Beta, was dead. Nina BlackMagic is delicate, contrary to popular belief. Magic is a part of the soul for those born with it, it’s a part of that persons’ life force so if the magic was to be used too much it can drain that persons’ life force which is very dangerous. Nina knew the dangers of losing too much magic, the results usually vary depending on how much magic an individual has in their soul, of course. So when Nina observed Sara struggling to breathe and stay awake she knew that Sara was wearing herself extremely thin. Sara had been using her magic to create potions for many of the thousands of Werewolves going to war to help them became resistant to magic. Sara has been working tirelessly for days and Nina can see it has taken its toll on her.Concerned, Nina led Sara out of the stuffy basement and upstairs into a small little sitting room with just a few armchairs sitting in opposite corners with a plast

MaxThe awkward silence was as thick as gross stale air which made Max extremely uncomfortable. Carla had been told that her sister had been taken, by who and while everyone expected anger even hostility towards Dmitri, who was was supposed to be protecting Angel. But no one expected her to be angry with herself. She paced around the small little sitting room, her new clothes a little too big for her, swishing as she moved, muttering angrily how this all her fault, how horrible of a sister she is and how much of a horrible person she is. After she was done pacing around she sat down where Sara was sleeping and sobbed quietly to herself.Nina, Max, Sara and Dmitri didn’t want to leave and yet being there felt as if they were intruding on a personal moment. Max just kept staring at the carpeted floor while rubbing the back of his neck uncomfortably, at least for a while. Carla hiccuped and then mumbled, “I

SaraThe thick, smokey fog and the dense cluster of eerie trees made it difficult to navigate through Hoia Bacia forest, however, with Sara and Nina’s magic the thousands of Werewolves and Witches were able to keep on the right path, especially with everyone walking together in close-knit groups, mind-linking every five minutes just to check in. It kept them all together. Sara stepped over a decaying log, morning dew clinging to her leggings and sneakers. At least her thick jacket is keeping her warm enough. But even though the cold seemed to stick to her skin and chill her fingers, she oddly enjoyed the fresh, clean smell of the forest, the sounds of the birds and the feel of the morning dew on her fingertips. It reminded her of her childhood, her brothers and sisters sneaking out into their garden on early mornings to play. Happier days, she thought bitterly sweet to herself.Amidst her memories, she glimpse

DmitriThe fog slowly drifted, disappearing as the morning became warmer and soon the castle became clearer, the details more visible with every passing minute. There, in the middle of a huge clearing roughly around five hundred meters wide all around, was the castle which looked as if it belonged in a horror movie. Dmitri was not a movie fan, he preferred books, however, he has seen the odd horror movie thanks to his siblings and this castle definitely had that look to it. The look of the castle gave Dmitri an unsettling feeling inside his gut and, somehow, he knew this castle has seen some horrors. This made him afraid. He was afraid for his Angel. Was she all right? How was the baby? Are they both safe? Please, he begged to the Moon Goddess, please let them be safe.As the fog thinned more and more, the castles’ surrounding and details became more prominent than before. Eerie dea

DmitriWith a sharp twist, he snapped the Witch’s neck and she fell to the floor with a hard thud. This was the last Witch on this floor so Dmitri signalled for his group to continue searching the area for anyone or anything that would give them any information on Madeline’s plans or where his Angel will be. All the rooms on the lower levels of this old castle consisted mostly of ancient dusty furniture covered with yellow-stained sheets, broken glass here and there and frayed old carpets. This once was a home, Dmitri thought as he entered yet another bedroom filled with spiders and layers upon layers of dust.I wonder what happened. He entered the bedroom and opened old drawers which nearly broke when he touched them. The drawers had small items of clothing, perhaps once belonging to a child, a little girl by the looks of it. He carefully placed the clothing back a

Nina“Please, get behind me,” Nina pleaded with Angelica as the howls and growling became more violent and loud, scraping wood echoed through the room which made the pregnant werewolf cry harder, screaming for her sister. Nina turned to the girl and ushered her to the opposite side of the room, away from the door, and sat her down carefully sat her on the floor behind a large wooden wardrobe, the only piece of furniture in the room beside the large bed. “Stay here, do not move, not for anyone or anything. Do you understand?” The girl didn’t respond. She stared, terrified, at the door where her sister disappeared, her hands shakily covering her mouth as tears rolled down her pale cheeks. “Angelica Sky!”The girl suddenly snapped her eyes to meet Nina’s and managed a meek, “Huh?”Nina placed both of her hands on either side of the g

AngelicaMy mother once scolded me with tears in her eyes when she pulled my tiny body away from a crumbling cliff. I remember that day so vividly, the way her face was a mixture of terror and fury. Growing up I never knew why, but her shaky, broken voice was glued to my memory and I have never forgotten what she yelled;"What would I do if I lost you!?"I never understood what she meant by that. DmitriHe’d only just started walking towards the hospital wing of the Sanctuary to see his Angel and here, right in front of him, Gabriel stood. Dmitri once had the instinctive urge to beat that man into a pulp, but now he couldn’t care less. He realized the man was too broken to be much of a threat now.“Are you going to go see her?” Gabriel asked quietly, his hands fiddling by his sides.Dmitri nodded. “Yes, she needs me now more than ever.” He ran a hand through his hair before he shoved his hands in his pockets, carefully watching the other man in front of him. Gabriel looked as if he something he wanted to say but held his tongue. It was almost aggravating to Dmitri so he sighed heavily before muttering, “Go on, say what you need to say.”Gabriel nodded. “Don’t break her heart, &l

MaxThe dark, eerie sky littered with gloomy dark clouds, a sad feeling settled in his stomach. The dim light from the moon caught his eye as he stood on a balcony high above and he thought about the Moon Goddess, why She chooses Werewolves mates, their destiny and if She would be angry if they were to choose their path, their ending? Although he knew that Werewolves and Lycan's shared some qualities, traits and genes, he knew the vast differences would make a Werewolf/Lycan pairing difficult. Werewolves have longer lifespans than humans though they have significantly shorter lifespans than Lycan's. Lycan's weredesignedto live for around three or four hundred years, so the Royal family can rule without heirs being changed every 40/50 years. Werewolves were lucky if they could make it to a hundred- and fifty-years-old. The lifespan alone makes his stomach drop. Max wasn't sure why he was even

CarlaShe looked around the forest, the beautiful rays of sunlight peeking through the leaves left her skin warm and radiating. The calm, cool water surrounding her feet soothed her aching bones and she patted through the river, a serene smile gracing her features. Not a care in the world as the wind gently lifted her hair, playing with it happily as she continued to walk through the river, letting the water rise up to her calves and giggling as it tickled her. She heard distant voices behind her. She turned to see her parents and her grandparents, smiling and waving at her. She laughed and waved back. They were shouting at her to come back, waving her over with excitement. She didn’t want to, she wanted to stay in the water a little bit longer. She enjoyed the cool, tickling feeling of the water as it rose again to above her knees. She gazed at the water, watching the ripples

GabrielThe world was foggy when he pried his eyes opened, a white glow seemed to blind him for a moment before his sight adjusted and his surroundings became clearer. A white ceiling above him greeted him, the glow of the light flickered for a second as he realized he was in a hospital bed. His thoughts were scattered as he slowly became more conscious of his situation and he wondered how he got there. He didn’t remember how he got here or who had helped him. He remembered how he crawled through the bloody hallway, agony encasing his entire body as he moved inch by inch but after collapsing it all goes blank from there. He had thought for sure that he was going to die and, if he were honest, he accepted that. He knew after everything that he had done he didn’t deserve to live. So, how did he get here?He barely recollected the distant voices moments before he passed out and while he was lost

Max tried to shift; however, his body was too weak, so instead, he stayed as he was and jumped to help the others fight off Witches.Sara's body ached terribly as she scanned her eyes over the battle, watching as Witches conjured weapons and used magic to blast away Werewolves. Now that Nina was....gone, she couldn't overdo it as they all needed her to get everyone out of here alive and quickly. The smell of blood and silver was more powerful now, and the screaming and battle cries made

AngelicaI didn’t know where I was. With the white walls surrounding me and medical tools on a table next to me, I knew I was in some sort of hospital but where? One second I was in this weird bedroom, and Lu looked at me with murder in his eyes and the next Carla, and I was in this large hall resembling a cathedral.I felt a crippling stabbing pain shoot up my back, my sister’s comforting words fading in and out as building pressure in my head caused me to scream, reminding me that I was wheeled away with people shouting and my sister squeezing my hand tightly. “I-I c-can’t do this, Carla,” I sobbed as the pain rippled up my spine once again and an urge to push swirled through my stomach. Tears soaked the pillow under me as I leaned my head back.My sister gently wiped my tears away as someone, whom I assumed was a doctor, placed a hand on Carla’s shoulder before she spoke. “If we a
