Chapter 2

Today is the day of our retreat,  I already prepared everything I need to bring. The clothes, the food, and the tent. All I need to do is to go to school because we need to ride a bus.

Our retreat was 4 days, 3 nights. so the one I can be within the tent is Stenzie, We’ve been friends since high school so we knew each other a lot.

“Take care sweetie, Call me if you need help.” My mom said

“Mom, I’m a grown-up woman.” I said, “Do you have a meeting again?”

My Mom is a housewife, but we have a company and  Dad is taking care of that. But sometimes Mom is also helping him. I have a brother but we don’t know where he is, he ran away from our house for a certain reason, and he never came back after that.

I’ve been waiting for my brother to come home, I hope one day he will.

“If only my brother is here, you don't have to take care of the company.” I tiredly said

She smiled but I can see the pain in her eyes “I haven’t been a good mother to your brother, I understand that he ran away from us.”

My mother may not be a perfect mother, but she is the best mother. I know my brother knows that our parents have been good parents to him. So sometimes I just don't understand why he chose to leave us.

They always tell me their love story back then, I used to tell myself that I wanted such a love story like my mom and dad. Because no matter how hard they go through, they are still really the latter. Until this day, they are still sweet to each other. I wonder if my story would be like that too.

“I’ll go ahead, Mom. See you next week.” I kissed her cheek

Our driver sent me to school so I wouldn’t be late, it took me 15 minutes to arrive since it’s not traffic when it's 4 am.

When I got to school I received a text message from Stenzie.

Stenz:

Girl!!

An emergency happened:((

I couldn’t go with you, I'm sorryyyyy.

I immediately text her back

Me:

Huh? What happened? Can’t I back out here anymore? hahaha

Lenzie: shut up haha, enjoy the day! Bye!

I put my phone back in my pocket and just went near my classmates. I went inside the bus and find a seat, I chose the one near the front and the one beside the window. My other classmate also entered inside the bus and found their sits. Thankfully no one seats beside me.

“Are there still available vacant seats there?” The Driver asked

“There is one beside Alta.” One of my classmates said

“Who is Alta, can you raised your hand please?”

I raised my hand

“One student from another department will be with y’all since there is still a vacant seat here.” The driver announced, “You may come inside and seat beside Alta.”

I looked at a student who got on the bus, and I was surprised to see Beau get on. He sat beside me holding his one backpack and a small bag of clothes I guess?, Seeing the things I brought, it's too many.

“Alta is so lucky! She’ll be with Beau.”

My classmates start talking. As if I want to be with him?

“Should I exchange sit with Alta?”

“Hays, Alta is living my dream life.”

“Good Morning” he greeted me

“Good Morning.” I greeted him back. “Did you have breakfast?”

He shook his head “Not yet, maybe on a stopover.” He smiled “What about you?”

“Yeah, I’m done eating mine.” I laughed a bit, I grabbed my back to pick up the sandwich and cookies I made yesterday. I gave him some cookies and a piece of sandwich. “Breakfast is the important meal of the day.”

He laughed “You made this?” I nodded “The cookies are delicious, you should build a bakery.”

“Don't assume that I made that just for you.” I joked “I want to be a model, not a baker.”

“You can still be a model while baking.” He said

“Do you want me to model hairnets? Apron? Or gloves?” I chuckled

“TSS.” He smirked “You’re good at joking.”

“Who says I'm joking? Just talk to me when you’re not a war freak anymore.” I laughed

“Warfreak? I'm, not a war freak!” He defended himself

“Oh, you’re not?” I looked at him “Who punched someone’s face just because they find it annoying? You’re unbelievable Mr. Heisenix.”

“You’re making fun of my surname huh? Who knows if it might be your surname in the future as well?”

I laughed hard “Why? Do you have a brother? Am I gonna marry him?”

“No, not my brother.” He said, “You’re gonna marry me.”

This man is full of confidence.

“Dream on Beauden Zypher Heisenix.” I even made some research just to know his name.

Yes, I made research.

“Oh yes, I will dream on, Altalune Mizuki Starin.” He proudly said, “If dreaming means to get you, I would.”

“Then, continue dreaming.” I winked.

“Be nice to me I might be your future husband.” He imitated my wink

“Can you both lower down your voices?” One of my classmates interrupted

“Beau’s courting Alta.” My classmate whispered but I can still hear it

“You’re too noisy Mr. Heisenix,” I said

“You’re noisier than me. You’re like a parrot.”

“I think they are already together, Beau is cold to other people. But he’s so sweet to Alta.” Someone said, I don’t know who it is but I’m sure it's a girl.

“Your classmates are nosy,” Beau whispered at me

“They’re not like that. But since you’re here. You’re the center of their gossip.” I whispered back “I’m still sleepy, I will sleep.”

“Alright.”

I slept, I woke up and was surprised that I was wearing a jacket, and my head was on his shoulder.

“We’re here, keep wearing my jacket. It’s windy.”
