Chapter 1

My best friend Stenzie and I are eating today in the school cafeteria. We just finished taking our final exam, after this, we will have a retreat with the whole 4th-year college department.

“Alta!” She called me “I want to babysit a baby.” She giggled “Find yourself a boyfriend, I will be a nanny to your daughter for free!”

She likes kids.

I laughed “No, Go find yourself a boy. Not me. I'm not ready to have kids.”

She pouted.

“Hi, Alta. I’m Keison” A boy greeted me

“Hello?” I greeted him back

“I just found you beautiful. Do you want a date?” He asked

“I’m sorry, No.” I tried to smile

I don't want to date someone just because they find me beautiful. I want them to date me for who I am, not because of my looks.

He laughed “Who do you think YOU ARE?” He said right in front of my face. “Not because you’re rich, you have a right to talk that way, You’re just a piece of shit.”

I was about to stand up when someone punched him on his face.

“Oh My Gosh. Beau punched the man.” Someone said

So his name is Beau? Kinda weird

“You’re talking too much. It annoys me so much.” The man who punched the boy’s face said.

“Why do you care?!” Keison shouted, “Are you the boyfriend of this slut?” He said and punched the man.

Slut? What the fuck?

“Stop it.” I tried to stop them.

I stood in the middle just in case they stopped, but I was wrong. Instead of Beau, Keison punched me.

Blood dripped from my lips.

“ALTALUNE!” Stenzie shouted my name.

I lost my balance because of the punch that Keison gave to me. Beau looked at me before punching Keison hard.

“WHAT IS HAPPENING?” The school director shouted, “Mr. Heisenix what is happening?”

“Nothing, Director.” He answered, I looked at him and saw a bruise on his face.

“Mr. Heisenix punched me, Director.” It was Keison

“Is that true Mr. Heisenix? You three! Come to my office.” He said “Now.”

“But Director,” Stenzie called the director “It’s not my best friend's fault.”

“It's okay Stenz, It’ll be alright.” I smiled

The three of us followed the Director to his office.

While walking, Keison is walking faster than me and Beau. When we entered the director's office he let us seated in a chair.

“Mr. Heisenix, I just want to know why did you punch Mr. Keison.” The director asked

“Did you heard what he said to Alta?” Beau asked

How did he know my name?

“I don’t care what he said Mr. Heisenix! The problem is you still punched Me. Keison!” The director shouted, “Are you aware that it can affect, you being a dean’s lister?”

“Yes, I'm aware.” He confidently answered “But calling a woman slut just because she did not agree for a date? I think that’s not right Director.”

The director looked at Keison “Why did you call her slut?”

“Why not?” He proudly said

Beau was about to stand up to punch Keison again but I immediately held his hand to stop him. “Stop it. Will you?”

He stopped. I continue talking “How can you say that I’m a slut? Did you ever see me being with different men every day? Do you see me fucking different men all day?” I shouted “Use your brain! Or should I say, Do you even have a brain?

I couldn’t help but shout.

“You’re suspended Mr. Keison.” The Director said, “You may now leave, Mr. Heisenix and Ms. Starin.”

I and Beau went outside the Director’s office. “Do you have a car? Let’s go buy medicine to heal your wound immediately.” I said

“Yes, let’s go.”

We rode in his car and went to a pharmacy nearby, I bought medications for his wound and after that, we went to a park so I could apply for the medicines.

“You shouldn’t do that.” I said while wiping his wound “But, Thank You. I feel relieved.”

He laughed “Well, he’s rude. He deserves my punch.”

“Still, you shouldn’t do that.” I sighed “You’re a dean’s lister, you should know what’s the best for your position.” I chuckled “Does it hurt?”

“The bruises?” He asked “No. Thanks for being gentle.”

I smiled, I looked around the whole park and saw someone selling ice cream. I went to the vendor to buy ice cream.

“2 vanilla,” I said, I always buy vanilla ice cream because it is not too sweet like chocolate. The vendor gave me 2 ice creams so I pay for them both. After that, I went back to Beau to gave him the ice cream.

“Thanks.” He said “You like vanilla?”

I nodded “It's not too sweet like chocolate. So yes”

“Are you joining the Retreat tomorrow?” He asked

Why is he asking too many questions?

“Yes, how about you?” I asked back “We’ll be graduating from college, so I want to enjoy it.”

“How come I just met you?” He laughed “We’ve spent years on being a college student.”

“I’ve met you late also.” I laughed “It is getting late we should go home.”

“Yeah, we should.”

We stood up and went back to the car. He drove back to school.

When I got to school, Stenzie was already waiting for me. She looks so worried so I smiled at her to assure her that I’m fine.

She pulled me closer to her “Why are you together huh?” She teased me “Are you the one who put the bandage on his face?”

“Yes?” I answered

“Waaaaah!” She yelled, “Do you ever feel butterflies on your stomach?”

“What the?” I covered her mouth “Someone might hear you.” I said “I’ll go home. Bye”

I went to the parking and go home. I drove to the mall and bought a snack I will bring tomorrow. And after that, I cooked some food so I could bring it tomorrow. And I slept.
