CHAPTER 1

“Big bro, wake up!”

“Hmm...” I saw Nadya in front of me. Nadya is my little sister, she’s 26 years old.

“Big bro, the sun is already up!”

“Who’s Sun? You got a boyfriend?!” She pulled my hair and glared at me.

“Of course not! I mean, like the sunlight, it’s already 7 am bro!”

“And? Why did you wake me up? What do you want, Nadya?” I got out of bed and I looked at her.

“Can you come with me to the mall, please? I just need to buy something.” she pleaded.

“What are you going to buy? Do you need me to come with you?” I asked.

“I’ll buy my boss a gift, it’s his birthday tomorrow, big bro,” Nadya said.

“Okay, fine! Get dressed so we can leave. I still have work to do —“

“Do what? Women again! Tsk, you don’t love me anymore! You’re making me sad, Big bro. You love your girls more than your only sister.”

“Don’t say that! I love you more, Nadya, my princess. All right, take a bath and get dressed in your room so that we can leave now.”

“I’m already dressed brother, you’re the only one I’m waiting for.” My eyes widened, and I looked at her carefully. Oh, she’s already dressed up and looks ready to go now.

“Hurry up brother! I still have work in the afternoon.”

“Is it required to give him a birthday present? You can just wish him a happy birthday.” I murmured.

“Big bro!” She’s pouting her lips. I chuckled.

“Alright, I’m going to take a bath now.”

After taking a bath, I left my room.

“Good morning too, Son. You two come here, let’s eat.” I sat down in my chair.

“Thanks for the food, mom.” Nadya and I said.

“You’re always welcome.” Mom smiled, then started eating.

“Oh, where are you two going?” She asked and drank a glass of water.

“At the mall Mom, Nadya wants to buy a gift for her boss’ birthday.” Nadya looked at me and smiled.

“Oh! If that is so, you two, be careful. And Nikolai takes care of your sister, make sure that she’s always beside you.”

“Of course, Mom,” I replied.

“Mom, I’m not a little kid anymore!”

“You’re acting like a kid now, Nadya, don’t pout, you look like a duck,” I said. My mom and I both laughed.

Nadya pinches my cheek. “Ouch! That hurts!” She chuckled.

“Goodbye Mom, I love you!”

“Bye Mommy, I love you!” Nadya kissed her on the cheek and I kissed her too.

We got inside the car and drove to the mall.

We’re already here at the mall. Nadya is currently choosing a necktie. “Big bro, what’s a better necktie, this or this?”

“Black is better, is that for me?” I ask. I laughed when she raised her eyebrows at me.

“No! We’re here to buy a present for his birthday and not for you, Big bro.”

“Don’t you have any gift for me too?”

“Big bro, it’s not your birthday, your birthday is next year, remember?”

I held her by both shoulders and shrugged it off. “Sis! Don’t you love me?” I ask while pouting my lips.

“Here we go again.” She murmured and took a deep breath.

“Okay, what do you want me to buy for you?”

“Hmm, I just want an ice cream little Sis,” I said, then smiled at her.

“All right! After this, we’ll buy ice cream.”

We both love ice cream, it’s our favorite.

“Bro, wait for me here, okay! I gotta go to the bathroom just for a while. Stay here! Understand?!” She’s looking at me, it’s like she’s trying to read what’s on my mind.

I raise both my hands. “Alright, don’t worry I’ll wait for you here, Lil Sis.”

“Hmph! When I come back here, make sure that you’re not with a woman again just like before Big bro!”

“Yep, I promise! I won’t flirt with girls for now.”

She turned her back and started walking away.

I raised my eyebrows when I saw a sexy girl pass by in front of me. “Damn, I just saw a sexy angel just now,” I murmured.

I was about to approach that girl but then I heard my phone ring, so I took it out of my pocket.

Unknown number? Who is this?

Ah, right! She’s the one who’s been texting me. When is she going to stop texting me, anyway? I should just block her number because she’s getting annoying.

I was kinda shocked when I felt someone hug me from behind. “Nikolai, babe, I miss you so much!”

I looked at it and saw...

Wait, a minute. Who is she??

Oh, she looks familiar! Right, maybe she’s the girl I’ve dated last week or last month, I guess.

What is her name again? I’m sure it starts with the letter R... oh! I’m wrong, I guess it’s B? Ughh damn, I don’t know! I don’t remember!

“I miss you too, b-babe!” I forced myself to smile and hugged her back.

I remember now, she’s the girl I met last Friday at the bar. We both go to the hotel and something to us, then I leave her after that. Damn, I didn’t expect that I'd meet this woman again.

“I’ve been texting you these few days, but I haven’t received a single text back from you, and then you don’t even answer my calls, babe! After what happened to us, I feel you’re ignoring me!” 

It’s because I don’t want to see you and talk to you again. Isn’t it obvious?
