Her Freedom

Lucian leaned back against the chair his head pounding and his neck aching. He somehow managed to fall asleep on the table after getting drunk of all the alcohol in the room. The alcohol he and Thea were supposed to enjoy together.

Sighing, he stood up making his way into the bathroom and staring at the mirror. His eyes were bloodshot and had dark circles around them and his hair was a rat's nest. Such a pathetic appearance, he thought, one befitting someone like him.

He was about to turn on the shower when persistent pounding started to penetrate through his door. Wondering who it was, a voice within him told him that it may be Thea coming to settle her score with him. She would be a welcome sigh, even while screaming and cursing him for deceiving her, he would welcome it more than the devastated look as her parting words slew him like sharpened swords.

But his hope was dashed as soon as he opened his door to find himself looking at a frantic-looking Loyd as he stared at him.
