Her Resolve

“Your grandfather collapsed last night due to extreme stress. You need to head back to see him,” The woman said through the phone.

Nadia felt her heart skip a beat before her anxiety completely surrounded her dumping her in the cold waters of uncertainty and fear. She knew this feeling. It was the same as when her parents died. The crippling fear that overcame her the moment she was faced with their certain death. And the grief that had all but destroyed her that day.

“Thea! Hey! Thea!” Grace called out shaking her shoulders forcefully snapping her out of her thoughts.

“What should I do…” She trailed off emotionlessly and Grace shook her once again.

“You should go back home and be with your grandfather. He had been looking for you everywhere since you disappeared. I wouldn’t be surprised if he collapsed because he was worried about you…” Grace trailed off.

“But…” Thea trailed off unsure whether to come back or not.

“You have to give the man a chance, Thea. Otherwise, he will never be
