83: Long overdue

Aurora’s POV

I quickly tapped out a message to Lilian, my fingers moving swiftly across the screen. She just left the car after I told her I have an urgent call to answer from the human world. She has to be on time since it is her twin brother's wedding. I don’t have to.

"Hey, Lilian, I'll be right back. I just need to check on a few things before joining you in the hall." I typed fast though it’s a lie.

Lilian's response came almost immediately, her understanding tone evident even through the text. "Sure thing, take your time. Everything okay?"

I nodded to myself, feeling reassured by Lilian's words. "Yeah, I just need to make sure everything's running smoothly. I'll catch up with you in a bit."

Lilian's reply was prompt and supportive. "No problem, see you soon."

I smiled faintly, appreciating Lilian's understanding. "Thanks, Lil. Be right back."

With that, I slipped my phone back into my pocket, my mind already focused on the tasks ahead as I prepared to leave the location. I
