NOLAN
I was running through the bushes. It was late in the night but I could see due to my supernatural eyes. I was been pursued by some Rogues. I was bored and decided to leave our territory to visit a friend from another pack. I was still on my way when I got attacked by some rogues. I was quick to run but they ran after me. I kept looking back to see how far I had gone. They threw an arrow towards me. I was fast to dodge it. They kept firing arrows at me until I got hit by one. I groaned in pain but kept running. I needed to escape or I'll get killed just like my parent was, some few nights ago.
<Flashback>
It was a few days after my eighteen birthday. We were done having dinner at the packhouse. Some of our pack members who had their own houses had gone back. And the rest of the members had retired to bed too. I was in my room, already wrapped up in my blanket, when my mom walked in. "Nolan, can you get me some herbs in the garden?"
Though she had complained about having a running stomach, I didn't expect she will need herbs by that time of the day. I stood up sluggishly from my bed to help her get them. When I got to the garden, I search for the herbs but couldn't find the ones she asked for. I decided to go into the forest to get them, so I left the packhouse and went into the forest. It took me a while before I was able to get the herbs. I was so happy that I whistled back to the packhouse. By the time I got back to the packhouse, a lot had happened and the packhouse was already in a mess. A very big oneI noticed when I walked past some people while heading to the packhouse, they were staring at me with pity in their eyes and I didn't bother to ask questions. So when I saw some of the elders were by the packhouse door and a few bodies on the ground, I knew something was wrong. I looked around in search of my parent but couldn't find them. Being the Alpha and Luna of our pack, they were expected to be out here. "What's going on?" I wondered. I walked towards them. "What's wrong?" I asked one of the elders who instead of answering me, shook his head in pity.
I asked others but none was ready to give me an answer. I could feel something was wrong and the fact that I got no answer from anyone made my curiosity grew deeper. After a while of fruitless asking, I got frustrated and decided to go into the house to find out myself. I dropped the herbs I was holding and rushed to the door but they held me back. "What's going on?!!!. Tell me, what's going on!!" I yelled
They tried calming me down but I wasn't ready to do that. "Where is my parent?. Where is the Alpha and the Luna?" I yelled, pushing those holding me away vigorously.
"Nolan, you need to calm down, ok?"
I hissed and brushed my hair backward angrily and groaned. "Don't tell me to calm down. Just tell me, where are my parent?"
Declan, my father's beta walked towards me. "Nolan, you need to calm down. I promise to tell you what happened only if you calm down"
I sighed. "Tell me what happened. Every detail of it"
"Nolan, there was an attack and....."
"And what?"
"We lost the Alpha and Luna"
I laughed as tears streamed down my face. "You're joking right?. My parent ain't dead right?"
"I'm so sorry Nolan, but that's the truth. I'm sorry we didn't get here on time to rescue them"
I wiped my tears. "Who did this?"
"Nolan...."
"Who did this!!!"
"It's the Alpha of the mountain pack. H...."
I rushed off immediately. I'm going to take revenge. He ran after me and caught me right before I could leave our territory. "Nolan, don't try anything stupid. You can't win. You know that"
I pushed him off. "Don't you dare stop me!!". I ran off before he could stop me again. I couldn't get to the Mountain pack because it was shielded with dark magic but that night, as I walked back to our packhouse, I vowed to find a way of taking revenge on Salvador, the alpha of the Mountain pack. That same night, he became my greatest enemy.
<Flashback ends>
An arrow flew past my ear, jolting me back to reality. I groaned. I was losing so much blood and couldn't heal myself up. I turned to look at them and realized, they were catching up with me already. I held my waist to try to stop the bleeding. I felt another arrow pierce through my back and I fell to the fall. I groaned in pain, as I tried to stand up and keep running. I saw an arrow coming in my direction but someone blocked it. A girl actually, she seems to be a year younger than I am. Which makes her seventeen. I couldn't see her face cause of the mask she wore but I could feel a connection.
"Could she be my mate?" I thought
I wanted to move but she stopped me. "Stand still" she ordered. I rested on a tree and watch her fight with the rogues, alongside some warriors. After a while, there was silence. She walked in my direction. "Are you ok?". I nodded. And wanted to say thank you but she was gone. I looked around and all I could see were dead bodies. I tried to follow her scent but I couldn't so I limped back to our territory where I was attended to. Some days later, I went out to see if I will come across her but I didn't. Every day, I sneak out to see if I would see her. I kept doing that until I got tired and felt the moon goddess doesn't love me enough to let me meet her again.
UNKNOWN I stood by the window, watching the view in front of me. That has been my tradition every morning when I wake up. I go straight to the window to watch the garden, a few meters away from my packhouse. I love the way the morning glory flowers open every morning. It's proof of a beautiful morning. A little smile escaped my lips and I quickly concealed it. As if remembering something, I turned swiftly. What's so good about this morning?. Nothing!!. Not with the news I received yesterday. I groaned and went to seat on the couch. I should place a call to Martins. I need to know the update. If we are to attack or not. I stood up and went to pick my phone. My alarm rang and I groaned. Time to get prepared for school. I rolled my eyes. Did I say school? Time to prepare for work. I brushed my hair backward. Gosh, I need to go to school and at the same time, work calls. I groaned. It's been difficult keeping up with those two. I chuckled. I talk like the
NOLANMy Beta walked into the office, giggling as usual. "Nigel, what's the news?"He chuckled and sat down right opposite me. "Nothing. Or is it a crime to visit a friend?"I rolled my eyes. "I never said it was"He relaxed on the chair. "Good""Nigel, tell me why you're here,". I'm not satisfied with his response. I know him too well. He only giggles that way, when he has a story to tell."I only came for a visit"I stared at him suspiciously. "I don't believe that, Nigel"He giggled. "You know me too well". He adjusted himself on the chair and I growled. He chuckled. "There's this new club. I was thinking we could go there this night?"I groaned. "Is that the reason you came here to disturb my peace?"He laughed. "Peace? It isn't like you're peaceful"I glared at him and he giggled. I picked up some documents on the table. "You shoul
Nigel was already foaming up when I got back to the club. "Do you want my dad looking for us, huh?"I rolled my eyes. "Chill man. I'm here already". He glared at me and I laughed. "Come on, let's go"He mumbled some words and finally take a step. I chuckled and followed him behind with Bella. The drive back to the packhouse was silent and I couldn't stop thinking about the girl I met at the club. I kinda like her vibes and she reminded me so much of someone I once knew. By the time we got to the packhouse, Declan, Nigel's father was already waiting for us. "How many times have I warned you both to stop keeping late nights?""I told ya" Nigel whispered and I chuckledHe walked towards us. "Went to the club again?. Did Nigel forced you to go this time?" He askedI laughed. Even his dad knows how much of a club freak he is. "No, no. We just went to have a little fun" I replied.
I rolled my eyes. It's Olive, the rude girl from the club. I groaned. "What the heck are you doing here?"She hissed. "I should be asking you that" she yelled.I groaned. This girl is just too aggressive for my liking. "This is my school, ok?. If there is anyone new here. It has to be you"Ella chuckled. "Come on, Olive. It's your first day here. You shouldn't be causing a scene"I rolled my eyes. So she's new here. Olive stared dangerously at me for a while. I wasn't moved by her looks. I stared back at her. "Pray we don't cross-part again, cause if we do. I'll break you," she said. My eyes widened. Is this girl threatening me?. She walked past me, hitting me in the process. I could feel tingling. She stopped moving and stared at me. My wolf was happy and it was like it might jump out of my body soon. I rolled my eyes. She can't be my mate right?. We were both lost staring at each other and I could
THE RUTHLESS ALPHAI walked into my training ground. I needed to do a little bit of training before going on this night's mission. We will be attacking the sunrise pack today, just like we did to the moon pack some nights ago, we will be doing the same to them. The training ground is located amid a deep forest, just a few distances away from the fire pack. A few of my guards were on stand-by. They were gathered across the forest not for security reasons though, cause I can take good care of myself but just to be on alert if there should be any invaders. Two were in the training ground with me. "Martins, take your position. You're training with me"He bowed and walked closer to me. "Yes boss"I position myself to get ready for attack. He also positioned himself as the fight began. The swords aggressively clashed with each other. Despite being good with the sword, I still admire Martins' skills. He is a trained fighter. He used to work with my dad before he di
NOLANI walked into the office with Nigel trailing behind. We were supposed to have a meeting with Brian Enterprise on Monday but I had been busy with some personal stuff, so it was shifted. "You haven't told me what you had been busy with all this day," Nigel saidI ignored him and sat down. "Get the papers ready, we are leaving in ten minutes" I answered insteadHe groaned. "Nolan, you've been acting so strange these few days. What's going on?"I sighed. "Nothing is going on, ok""Nolan...""Can you get the papers ready, or do you want me to call Bella?"He frowned. "Are you threatening me?"I chuckled. "No, I only want to shut you up"He folded his hands. "That's so unfair""You say unfair?". I picked my phone. "Maybe I should call her"He dragged the phone. "Hey, I don't mean unfair. I am only..."I rolled my eyes. "Trying to make me understand. I know". He frowned. "Can we go now?""You said ten minutes"I stood up and picked the papers
I needed to redeem myself so I ran after her. "Hey!!" I yelled. She stopped and turned to face me. Everyone stared at us, awaiting my reaction, I guess. I rolled my eyes. I could read their minds. I groaned. "You said what?"She hissed. "I'm sure you ain't deaf. But in case you are, I'll make it clear to you. I Olivia reject you. What's that your name again?. Nolan"I rolled my eyes. "I do not accept the reject,""That's your problem" she yelled"You can't reject me. I should be the one to reject you, not the other way round"She hissed. "I already did". She pushed me to the side and walked past me. People were staring at us and some were taking pictures and videos. I groaned. The news will be everywhere soon. I told Nigel it was a bad idea, but he said no. Look at what he has caused me. I glared at them and they scurried away. I stomped to the class. Nigel sighted me and walked up to me."Tell me the good news"I hissed. "Tell me you haven't heard about i
Did she just called dad?. My body was vibrating in anger, like the night my parent died flooded through my mind. It was like I could see them. I could see them closed their eyes to the cold hand of death. I shuddered with the wave of rage that swept over me. I clenched my fist, as I wait to see the next reaction from them both. I wanted to know if he was her father and she was his daughter. Nigel held my hand in an attempt to stop me from doing anything crazy. Salvador walked past her and I felt my anger subsided. "Dad? you mean dad is in school?" Olive said. She turned around. "I can't find him and I don't care!!" She yelled.I rolled my eyes. This girl is rude even to her parent?. I groaned. Hope the moon goddess has not decided to punish me by giving me Olive as a mate. Maybe it was for good she rejected me. I watched her pulled off the blue tooth from her ear and that was when I realized she had been on the call. I also noticed she was facing her car. I hissed. At
OLIVEI don't know what Natasha had been telling Nolan before I came in but I heard her tell him to leave. I heard her tell him I wasn't going to leave my pack because of him. She was right. I wasn't going to make that decision before and I am not going to make it now. When I waited for him to come to stop me, I had thought of changing my mind. I had feared I might change my mind if he shows up. I had thought I will reject my pack for him. That was the only way I thought I could prove to him that I love him. That I am willing to sacrifice the things that make me happy, for him.But having waited for a long time, hoping he would show up and he never did, I realized I was wrong. I shouldn't change my mind. I should not think of staying back because I will regret it. As I stepped my legs out of the fire pack gate, I made up my mind never to show up again at the fire pack. Never to think of seeing him again. I made up my mind to leave with the pain and never love anyone again.
NOLAN"You are not going to make her stay?" Nigel asked and I shook my head. "You will let her go without a fight?""I can't keep her with me" I answered flipping the pages of the book I was holding."You are letting her go for the second time, without a fight?"I closed the book and sighed. "I don't want her to regret staying back here""Do you think of how she feels?. Why did you not let her make her decision herself?""She was going to leave, I know that. I just don't want her to feel bad leaving me. I don't want to be pitied""Nolan, letting her go isn't the best option. Do you think she will reject you?"I shrugged. "I can't say""If she doesn't reject you, you won't be able to resist her for long""She will have to reject me""And you will lose half of your power. If you are not strong enough you might lose your wolf. What about her?. What if she dies?"I blinked. "She is not going to die. She is strong enough to take
We were there when the elders made their final decision on Salvador and his accomplice. They were sentenced to death by hanging. Just what I wanted, though I would have preferred Salvador to be killed by me. But watching them being hanged, for the first time, I felt their punishment was too harsh. "They should have sent them away like before" I had thought as they closed their eyes to their final breath.I do not know why I suddenly had compassion for them. They killed my parents, killed Ella's dad and some of our pack members lost their lives for their sale. They killed Nolan's parents too and other people that had lost their lives. Why should I have compassion for them?. Why should I feel sad that they were killed?.I watched them being brought down and ready to be buried and I sighed. If I had killed them myself would I feel this bad?. Is this the reason Nolan stopped me from killing him?. Different thoughts ran through my mind as we returned home. I locked myself in my
OLIVEI was surprised Ella wanted to go face Salvador. Though I know she could do it, I worried for no reason. Having lost my parents and knowing the pain that comes with it, I wasn't ready to lose anyone else. When Nolan looked at me to know if he should let her go, I couldn't say no. I wanted badly to say no. To stand on my ground that someone else should go.But looking around the room, I realized I don't want to lose any of them. Not even Martin or Arden who had been of great help to us. I realized in as much as I love Ella, I love every one of them too. But the work to be done must be done by one of us. I wouldn't risk letting someone else do it. Nolan will not accept too, after being betrayed twice. It's surprising how he had come to trust every one of us in the room. I suspected he find it difficult to trust people. Within these recent days, Nigel had told me what had happened to him and I realized he had passed through a lot more than I am doing right no
Nolan"If you love me and care so much about me as you claim. You will come with me" that was the words she said and I found myself following her. "Nolan" Nigel calledI stopped. "Nigel, get more men. I will go with her. I can't let her get hurt" I answered"Did you... I mean, you completed your mating...""Let's talk about this later. Just do as I say"He nodded. "Be safe, brother""I will"I left Nigel and ran after Olive. "Olive" I called. She stopped walking and turned. "I will go with you". She shrugged. "Do you have any plans?"She sighed. "Stop being worried. If your mind is clear, I will be able to think well"I nodded. "Ok""Can we go now?""Sure"I wasn't sure if she knew where Salvador had gone to but I followed her anyway. "Are we going on foot?"She nodded. "I saw him run past this place""What if he left already?""I know. I just need a few things. We might have to look for his new location agai
OLIVESeeing how easy our first attack was, I was hopeful, we will get Salvador soon. Although the alphas of the packs we caught were not ready to tell us where to find Salvador, I was still hopeful. They were the loyal ones who despite he was the reason why they were driven from the southern hemisphere to the northern hemisphere. He must have something he had been using against them.I knew I needed to find out what that was. They will help us get words out of their mouths. We returned to the fire pack, leaving Martins and his men as guards with them. I trusted him to do a good job. He is the ruthless alpha's, right-hand man. and is strong enough to withstand anything. Arden was there to help him too. Though we had plans to hand them over to the elders who had sent them to exile for a proper judgment, we needed to keep them safe until the right time.Although Salvador won't be taken to the elders for judgment. They had given us the go-ahead to kill him when we
We were deep into the woods and night was setting in already. I knew Ella and the rest would be searching for us. They might be calling our names. We can't stay here and will need to return home. It was getting cold and she might catch a cold. I stood up and pulled my coat. I dropped it on the floor. "I will stay behind that tree over there. You can change and wear this coat. Call me when you're done"I stood behind the tree waiting for her to call me. While I wait, I could not help but wondered what would have happened if I did not show up. Seeing her kill them, I could not help but wonder who they are and what she planned on doing after that. I have fear, she might do worst than that and I won't be there to stop her. "I should have marked her. That will help me track her". Though she is my mate, I can only get her scent from a short distance. If she's far away from me, I won't be able to get her scent. "Maybe I should complete the mating". I groaned. We are not on good terms,
NOLANThe door closed behind Olive and I sighed. What has gotten into her?. Why is she so bent on getting Salvador?. Why isn't she thinking about the risk?. If it was easy to get him, I would have gotten him right before he attacked her pack. "I will go check how she is doing," Bella said in a concerned tuneI nodded. "And me too," Ella said standing up.I nodded but said nothing. I picked up the paper she dropped in front of me. I stared at it, studying the plan she mapped out. I noticed it was a very good plan if only it was as easy as she has written it. I sighed. Why can't she understand things can't be done like that?. "You were once like her. Remember?" My subconscious mind said. "You were once blinded by revenge" it addedI nodded. Yes, I was once like her, blinded by revenge. I once thought a lot about the perfect way to get Salvador. I had tried so many ways to get him but as days became months and months, years. I have come to realize that I can't get t
OLIVEMy pack members were happy to hear that I am mated to the ruthless alpha. I guess that took away the fear that had been looming in their hearts. When Nolan ended his meeting with them and I called them for mine, they were so happy they kept thanking me. I realized there was nothing to talk to them about. I had come to know why they had thought I needed a mate now that my parent are dead, but after what Nolan did, there was no need for that anymore.I returned to the mountain pack after speaking to my pack members, about random things. Seeing them so happy and at rest, after hearing that Nolan is the ruthless alpha and also my mate, I knew I had nothing to worry about. Ella and Bella offered to follow me. And though I told them not to, they wouldn't budge. When we got to the mountain pack, Ella hugged me. "I'm happy you accepted Nolan""I did not accept him, for real. You know that. I only did that for my pack member" I answered"Are you sure you did that fo
