Kelly’s POV

I’m laughing because he honestly thinks those jeans are going to be a barrier. I’m new to sex and mating but I’m pretty sure those jeans aren’t going to be comfortable to sleep in.

He takes a few minutes in the bathroom. I snuggle myself into the bed. This is the Alpha’s side I can smell him, why didn’t he make me move? I breathe in his scent of the pillows. No way I’m sleeping tonight. My mind is going crazy.

Mace- His wolf wants us. Calvin has accepted us fully.

Me- well I hope Alpha can accept us. I don’t want to be rejected. I might lose control. I’m a pretty strong warrior.

Mace- yeah you will be twice as strong, fast, and powerful with me. We are blessed you know. All your family gets one power.

Me- What ours?

Mace- don’t know until I need to use it. The goddess is tricky that way.

Me- So do you know her?

Mace- she is my mother. I mean we don’t have family dinners but she communicates with us in her own way.

Me- so could you ask her a question and get an answer?

Mace - (laughing) not likely. But what is the question.

Me- Why have me and Alpha born so far apart?

Mace- Oh I know that one. It’s complicated and now is not the right time to discuss.

Me- if you have been with me since the beginning then you know I’m not done asking.

Mace- (laughing) oh I know it girly. But here’s the reason you got me, I’m more stubborn than you are.

Me- Whatever. There is nothing more stubborn than me.

Mace- Keep telling yourself that.

I laugh at my wolf. I think she and I are going to have an interesting relationship.

Alpha comes out of the bathroom and tosses the blanket in the hamper. I’m pretty sure the wet spot is from me. He looks at me laying on his pillow. I wish I could mindlink already. Alas I cannot. He turns off the lights and slips into bed on the other side.

I’m 5’11” and solid, a warrior in training, but he grabs me and pulls me into his chest like a rag doll.

What a chest. Firm and wide, full of well maintained muscles. Alpha is the tallest in the pack by four inches over Sam who was next. He is the strongest and the one with the most control. No wonder he can fight his clear desire to mate. I’ve watched Alpha for most of my life. He never loses his cool.

His cousin Jeffery, challenged him for the Alpha title when I was 10. We all watched the fight. Alpha had Jeffery by the throat in 30 seconds, could have killed him right then a there. But Alpha never lost control. He put Jeffery in the dungeon for six years. Then banished him. Jeffery has not attempted to come back. Alpha is merciful.

I inhale him and feel him tighten his grip. No way either of us was sleeping tonight, but I am content to stay here against his chest all night. He is cool and smells like snow. I always loved the snow. I was born in the summer, but snow holds something special for me.

I’m sure his scent is going to keep me up all night, but instead I feel so relaxed with my forehead against his chest. I’m warm, I’m comfortable, I’m sleeping.

Lucas’s POV

A Luna from this pack. Would the elders accept her? Would all the she-wolves I’ve sent away accept her? Would her father be able to accept her authority? She is so young.

Calvin- She is ours. She has always been ours.

Me- have you always known.

Calvin- yes

Me-Why didn’t you tell me?

Calvin- I couldn’t. I tried to tell you not to give up. You didn’t listen. Now you have a few messes to clean up.

Me-my engagement is off that is clear.

Calvin- there should have never been an engagement. But of course you don’t listen to me.

I roll my eyes thinking about tomorrow.

Damn it, Megan gets here today. She is supposed to stay until my birthday celebration. She is 25 unmated and the daughter of an Alpha. Her father and she have been plotting my capture since she was 18. Seven failed years have made them more desperate because her pack is falling apart. They need a strong leader and her brother is not the answer. Many Alphas, including myself, have taken in their pack members over the past two years. I have a feeling Thomas is going to talk to me about merging the packs in marriage.

The idea of facing Thomas and Megan tomorrow makes me hold Kelly tighter. Thank the goddess she is not fragile, I need a strong Luna.

Calvin- if you make our mate angry I will never forgive you.

Me- what if the council, the elders, her father refuse their blessings.

Calvin-Kill them.

Me- we can’t kill everyone who opposes us.

Calvin- what the hell is the point of being the most powerful werewolf/Lycan in the world if we don’t exercise our power and kill anyone who disagrees with us? Sounds like a waste of our power.

Me- with great power comes great

Calvin- if you quote a damn comic I will refuse to come out the next time we are in a fight.

Me- (laughing) if we don’t get their blessing we will have to let her go.

Calvin- (laughing) Mace will kill us. We’ve been talking and no way in hell she lets us go.

Me- Mace?

Calvin- my mate. The cute little shewolf I’m going to absolutely destroy when I get my chance.

Me- I don’t need to know that.

Calvin- like you aren’t thinking about breaking your mates hymen and molding her virgin pussy to only accept your dick.

Me- okay a little too graphic there pal.

Calvin- oh buddy you have no idea how graphic I can get. I’ve been dreaming of our mate for years.

Calvin- hey don’t tell me earlier during training your eyes didn’t check out her ass as she did that cartwheel to get away from us. I see, what you see.

Calvin starts sending me images from earlier today when we were training. Kelly in her shorts and sports bra, her breast bouncing as she prepared to fight. Fuck! I put a block up so I can sleep. Tomorrow I face everyone.

I can’t imagine what the dawn will bring. But for the moment I have my mate.

I have a mate. Born under a full moon on my birthday. I remember the day well.

I turned fifteen that morning. We had cake with Rebecca, Mary and Anna. Vicki was heavy pregnant, but thought she had another week. As the moon rose that June night Vicki held her belly and Max rushed her to the hospital. Mom put the girls to sleep. About 10pm we were called to the hospital. Vicki handed me the new baby girl and I swear I heard harps or violins. She looked me in the eye and I swear she saw my soul. I should have known then, I should have felt it then. I wasn’t holding a Beta female, I was holding my Luna.

And now I’m holding her again. I feel her breathing even out and can feel her sleeping. When we kissed my world disappeared. I was in a holy place. I can’t wait to get back there again.

She shifts in her sleep and her head is tilted up. Her

lips are right there.

“Just kiss me you idiot,” Kelly whispers and shifts up so our lips touch.

This is not chaste or desperate. This is the kiss I’ve been wanting my whole life.

We roll and shift so she is under me again. I want to make love to her. I should be making love to her! I need her! I want her! I’ve been too afraid to admit it, but I can’t live without Kelly. She my oxygen, my world is because of her.

From her earliest moments to this one right here, she has been mine, and I have been hers. I ran from it, I got engaged.

Fuck I’m engaged! Shit! How do I get out of this one?

“Where did you go?” Kelly asks me and. I realize I forgot I was kissing her.

“Sorry, I just thought about tomorrow and everything I have to do before I can have you. I don’t want to reject you,” I tell.

“Then don’t. Isn’t it easier to ask for forgiveness than permission? So don’t ask, just take,” Kelly lightly kisses me.

“I want to be worthy of you, but I’m not. The least I can do is ask permission,” I smile, roll off of her and pull her close. “Sleep now.”
