Hello everyone, Thank you so much for choosing to read “Hid bane” and sticking with it till now. I know my recent updates have been irregular . It felt like immense pain and fire at the same time. It hurt like nothing he had ever felt before but he did not scream. He did not dare to scream. He believed he deserved it for losing her the first time. For making her suffer just because he could not be grown and show what and how he felt. For his foolish decisions. Instead a smile broke out on his face, at the thought that this great pain had at least made him pay for his mistakes. The little shiny gold ornament shined through the blood in his chest. The sight, a pain and a relief. The immediate physical pain of digging into his hear for it, and the the relief of knowing that he finally can get to his princess. He knew that the healing would be slow and painful, but it was worth it, he thought as the little hole in his heart began to heal. That little oval shaped golden orbament, was the only thing he had left of his parents besides the pack. His own value for that jewel was not the power it held, nor the significance of
As soon as Dario walked through the portal, Marissa’s scent hit him so hard and he almost immediately lost his mind to excitement. It felt like the longing he had before and had been feeling, multiplied by a thousand. However, he knew he needed to be calm in order to remember and execute the instructions given to him. The witches were never fully straight, and always cunning so he took that warning as a threat. He didn’t run, nor did he walk walk too fast, even if that was all he wanted to do, he refrained himself. He had not even walked 10 steps when a giant monster he could not name, fell from the sky right above him but ge managed to destroy in time, escaping the claws of the furry monster by mere inches. “For a creature this big, It’s very fast”. He thought to himself as he dodged again and again. In just opinion, the only creature faster than thus furry monster were vampires and some very few werewolves. He did not want to waste any time here and tried to outrun the monster
Marissa’s ears rang and everything in her body ceased with so much emotion. Doubt, longing, hurt, and most of all relief. The one person she wished to come to hear aid was right now, standing in front of her but she could not move. “Is this real?” She asked herself, as she took a step backwards. The little action already bringing great pain to Dario who wanted nothing but to glue himself to her and never be free. Her thoughts wandered round and she immediately went back to her fighting stance after concluding that it was just another monster who had disguised as her mate. Tears gathered in her eyes as she took that stance because she was tired and literally about to give up on her life at this point. She felt really hurt because this was the person she wished for the most here and this same person was being used to test her and probably kill her. Dario became perplexed more than he was hurt. “She was in desperate need, right?”. “I don’t remember us having a fight that cold mak
“Alpha please let us properly treat her”. The pack doctor pleaded with Dario who had not put her down since he carried her after she fainted. He could not just bring himself to be even an inch away from her, and saw anyone who wanted to take her from him as an enemy. A part of him knew he was being crazy but he still could not help it. Although his wolf was mewing, admiring and going crazy at the sight of his mate in his arms, Dario could not pin it all on the creature as he himself felt the same, if not more. “I’m not stopping you from treating her!”. Dario growled as he spoke, making everyone in the room freeze from the intensity of his growl and the pheromones he was releasing. Cries of children started being heard from north, east, west, south. The cries did nothing but annoy him in this moment. “Get then to shut up!”. He healed again, growling, huffing and puffing like a wolf in heat. For some reason, he could not tolerate anything right now as it felt like it all led to
MARISSA’S P.O.VIt has been 2 days since I woke up from the 3 days slumber I went into. If it had not been me, I would have doubted that anyone slept for such an amount of time and was not either in a coma or dead.According to the doctor, my body was making up for lost sleep, which I fully understand as I really did not ever sleep for more than an hour at a time in all the 7 months I spent in that hell hole.I still show symptoms of weakness, hence the reason why Dario has been all over me. Normally, I would have been annoyed but I find it extremely cute that a man such as Dario cannot bear the thought that I am not fully okay.“Alpha”. An Elder greeted as he entered into Dario’s office and almost spit out the drink he was having for obvious reasons. One, i’m in the meeting of the council, a sacred and intimate meeting that should consist of only Dario and the Elders according to them.I tried to squirm as I myself did not feel comfortable as I was obviously not welcome here, but Dari
The chaotic atmosphere of the pack was something Marissa didn’t think she would miss but here she was, resting by the door side admiring the shouts from the kids playing in the field and the chants of the warriors training a few miles away. Now, all the chaos somehow felt like home to her. This was the first place she had ever stayed without being tortured or used. Her favorite thing here was Dario, she still could not understand why a man so perfect wanted her so much. It flattered her as much as it confused her.“Hi Princess”. Dario greeted coming behind her and kissing her on the cheeks“Speak of the devil”. She thought to herself as she smiled and turned to face him.“Hi”. She replied back to him, still smiling as he kissed her on the cheeks.Marissa was still not sure about what love is but she knew that she did not want to pat with Dario for whatever reason. He had been more than perfect since she came back. Initially, she expected him to shout or scold her for escaping and putt
The whole 25 packs had gathered together at the packhouse of Alpha Dario eager and also anxious while chattering within themselves, wondering about the reason for his summons. The murmurs, laughter and side comments all ceased once the bell rang which indicated the arrival of their apex alpha. It was so silent that one may doubt that this was the noisy arena a few seconds ago.As soon as Dario walked up the podium that stood a few feet taller than where they were all gathered, they all bowed.Their uniformity despite their large number never ceased to amaze Marissa each time she saw them bow to her mate all at the exact same time, like they had rehearsed it before coming.“Alpha”. They all said as they raised their heads back up. Still all at the same time with a uniformed voice.“Good day everyone. Before I go into the business of today, I would like to make a very important and special announcement. I-“. He started, but was cut off by an elder.“Alpha”. The head elder of the council
Marissa could not get over the meeting yesterday and how much the pack hated elves. It made her want to know what exactly the elves did to the werewolves. It hurt her heart because she knew for sure that it was definitely very grave from the reactions she saw yesterday. For the first time in her life, she did not feel like the victim rather she felt like a monster.“They looked like I would tear them in pieces for no reason. Like I was a killer, and I don’t like how that made me feel”. She said out to Claire who was sitting on her bed, also acting like her brother not willing to be without her for a long time.By long time, I mean an hour or less.At times, they even fought over who would be with her and who should go. It was so sweet watching them actually act like siblings.Marissa never imagined that Dario was like that.“I am apologizing on their behalf but I also implore you to understand their point of concern”. Claire said to Marissa, holding her hands and looking as sorry as s
