TAMSYN'S POV

Seven years ago

I sat on the ground of a place not far from our pack observing my cousins as they played together in their wolf forms.

Lily and Rose were our beta's children.Novalia was the gammas daughter and then Cruz who was my another cousin. They were my cousins because only my parents close family members were selected by the goddess to help in leading the pack.

As usual, we after our warrior training to have fun. The Sun was high in the sky with birds chirping and it was my usual day of fun but I felt worried.

As the daughter of the alpha, I was used to training from four a.m. to nine a.m.But today Mom had asked me to stop training by seven. Unexpectedly ,she asked me to go play.

My gut told me something was wrong.

My doubt was confirmed when moments later my bestie and another cousin of mine : Arden came running our way all sweaty. His blond hair stucked to his face and he was breathing heavily. My sharp wolf's hearing sense could hear his heart beating faster than ever.

“Tamsyn, the Luna asked you to come back as soon as possible."

I knew it! Something was definitely wrong.

“What happened?"Novalia asked. I turned to see them naked after shifting to their human forms.

“No time for questions. Come back to the pack" he said firmly leaving no room for arguments.

Breaking into a run,we headed for the pack. I kept hoping that whatever it was shouldn't be threatening to our pack.

My name is Tamsyn and I am from the Blue Eyes pack. A pack whose members had different types of blue eyes from generation to generations.

The 'blue eyed pack' was a small pack known for their remarkable skills in archery, their agility, and their ability to run faster in the woods than any other wolf known.

Most importantly, our pack was known for its discipline on training their wolves.

My parents alpha Amadeus and Luna Sia were known for their uncountable victory in numerous battles.

We followed Arden in silence trying hard to cover up with his fast pace as he was stronger than all of us.

As we entered the pack, the silence became alarming.Where were the pack members?

“This way"Arden directed us through the back door of the pack house.

Obeying him,we silently followed him upstairs, then headed for the throne room.

My parents stood with their backs to me, in their army uniforms talking to each other in hush voices.

I headed their way my heart rate slowing down.I was glad they were ok.

“Mom, Dad what is wrong?"I asked a little bit worried.

Surprised, they both turned to me their expressions unreadable.

My Dad walked forward and came down to my level his knees landing on the black marbled floor. Even at that level, he was slightly taller. I lifted my head and our gaze met.

His pale blue eyes filled with tears, he said finally spoke to me.

“We Will soon be circled Tamsyn and our enemies outnumber us. We don't know the outcome of this war so you Tamsyn must leave with your cousins."

My hearts beat's paced up.So our family was in danger after all.So suddenly!

“If you are so sure that their army is so large, then why don't we run away together? How can you ask me to leave without you?" I whispered barely holding my fear in.

This time it was my mom's turn to kneel before me. Gently, she sent a brown lock behind my ears. Her palm gently resting on my cheek she smiled through the tears.

“What did you learn in the army love? As Alpha and Luna, we took an oath to defend our pack till death. How do we call people who do not take their oath seriously?"

“A coward"I whispered a tear streaming down my cheek.

“Yes, love and we 'the blue eyed pack' werewolves aren't cowards." Dad finished his hand resting on my shoulder.

“But what if I stay and fight by your side?"I asked desperately as sobs escaped me.

They hugged me tenderly and waited for my sob to stop. Their warmth and scent helped calm me down.

“No Tamsyn. You have to be there to continue our lineage in case something happens. You have to make sure the blue eyes pack can live Promise me" my mom said smiling.

Why would they even say that?!

"I promise"I whispered disheartened.

Before I could utter anything else, the beta entered:

“Alpha we are circled," he announced in a chilling voice.I abruptly lifted my head. I could see fear on his face but I could also see determination.

I stared back at my parents only to see them both smiling as if they weren't going for a war.

“We want you to know we love you. In future, know that everything we did was for your good. Take this locket and keep it with you wherever you go. Only open it on your 21st birthday." Mom whispered helping me wear it. It was a

My dad finally broke the silence that had enveloped us.My mother reluctantly released me.

“I love you Tamsyn, never forget that. As your father, I am proud of all your achievements. You have grown enough to know that we were betrayed by our pack members. Remember to trust no one but your cousins." he paused for a moment to stare at me and I nodded to tell him I understood his instructions.

"Most of all remember you are a Luna, and a Luna bows to no one. OK?"

I nodded again my throat dry.I fought hard not to cry.

“Now go and know that our pack's future lies in your hands, "My mother said smiling.

They both kissed my forehead and stood up.

"You both must come back home."I brokenly whispered trying hard not to cry.

They both nodded. After a final tender stare, they turned to the others.

Reciting their army oath, they headed outside the pack house.

I stared at their backs as they walked towards our enemies. The world stopped and I forgot to breath.I was about to run to them but something held me back.

I realized Arden was trying hard to drag me away.

“We have to go before we are attacked........"

He was interrupted by my mom's piercing scream.

My heart pounding,I turned to find my mom lying on the floor her throat tore open.

My father's growl of pain thundered silencing the surrounding.

“Go tamsyn. I love you" dad mind linked me.

But I couldn't bring myself to leave.

Arden stopped me before I could move further:

“We have to go. It won't be long before your father loses control. Our enemies are approaching."

The roars approaching made me realize he was right. Remembering my promise, I turned to my cousins. They had tears in their eyes.

I lost my mom and soon dad too because the bond was going to make him go crazy but I had to save my cousins.

“Follow me," I said wiping my tears as determination to escape this place filled me.

We headed for the forest through all the shortcuts I have learned over the years in our pack.

When my father's roar reached me,tears began streaming down my face.My parents were really gone leaving me all alone in this world.

The world around us, the pins piercing our bare feet, the leaves slapping us as we tried to make our way through the woods, and the cold breeze blowing through my hair seemed to be nonexistent as we ran for our lives into the wild.

SEVEN YEARS LATER

TAMSYN'S POV

Still wearing my black trousers and white t-shirt, I sat under a huge tree staring at my cousins as they joked around their laughter resonating into the silent forest.

It took us close to four years to live freely. We had come a long way to accept the truth.

Reluctant to allow our pack's name to disappear we finally became rogues and swore to revenge our pack's extermination no matter how long it took.We were ready to die for each other.

We usually moved to different locations after every three months. The humans made our lives easier since we always bought everything needed from the nearest human territory.

This time,we settled for Forest a less dense forest compared to usual ones we inhabited.

“Hey guys enough of the laughter for the day.

Time for breakfast" I yelled heading under the huge tree that had become our dining area for the past two weeks.

I waited for them while holding my hair into a single braid. Novalia headed to where she had cooked potatoes with fresh fish from the nearby river. The pot stood on a three-stone fireplace. After serving each of us in the plastic disposable plates, she carried the clay pot to our tent set up days before.

Lily carried the plates with the help of Rose to where the rest of us sat. When Novalia later joined us,we began eating in silence.

“Cruz your results in training have not been good these days. What is wrong?"Arden interrupted the heavy silence.

I turned to cruz with lifted brows, he reddened and choked on his food.

“Never mind. We will talk later."Arden said to stop me from punishing Cruz.

Lily was about to say something when the phone in my pocket rang.

Placing my plate on the ground, I retrieved my phone and saw “the council" written on the screen. After a few moments of hesitation, I finally answered the call and Alpha Anderson's gruff voice reached me:

“Hello, Tamsyn. We have a mission for you"

I was silent for a moment while the others stopped eating to focus on me. That was typical Anderson, straight to business.

“Hello to you too alpha Anderson. Which kind of mission?"I asked coldly.

“Children have been disappearing and we suspect child trafficking from the rising star pack. We can't ignore it anymore so we need your help."

“What is my mission now?"I asked after a moment of silence.

“Very simple. You go there and we want the wolves that have been abducting pups from different packs. We want him alive."

“How many children are we talking of?"

“Around six hundred if we count with those of this month. It needs to stop before we lose more pups."

“I see. How much will I be paid ?"

“500 000 coins. The mission may be tougher than the last one and you are the only one who can nail the culprit. We can still add if only, if that's what it takes for you to do it."

We couldn't afford to miss this opportunity. The rising star pack is the only pack we haven't visited so far when researching on our pack's extermination clues. This was a golden opportunity.

A moment of silence went by before I finally said:

“I accept. Inform the alpha of the Rising Star pack that we will be there by tomorrow morning. Prepare fourteen tubes of silver and ten tubes of wolfsbane. Remember to tell them we hate dogs and would kill them without hesitation. If I need anything else, I'll let you know."

He chuckled:

“I knew we could count on you. Your orders would be carried out immediately. When do you need your payment ?"

“After the mission as usual Anderson, "I replied releasing a breath.

“It was nice talking to you again Tamsyn" And the call ended. Why was my heart racing at the mention of this mission?

“Who was it?"Novalia asked curiously.

I stared at their eager faces.

“The council sent us on a mission in the Rising star pack. We have to double our training hours for today. We are leaving tomorrow in the afternoon."

“Oh shit. I never expected a new mission this early." Rose said going back to her food.

“You guys better eat. I will tell you everything about it after breakfast."I said knowing fully how eager they were.

When we discovered that we couldn't live in the wild planning our revenge without actually having money to buy things from humans to sustain ourselves, we finally started working for not only the council of werewolves but other people as well to eliminate any wolf that seems threatening to the wolves peace.

We “The blue eyed rogues" finally became the most dangerous wolves known. We achieved all our missions and this was again another one we will achieve. But most importantly, I prayed to the goddess we find clues on our packs exterminations.
