Jaxon had found out so many things had happened right under his nose, and he was at the

center of it.

Yet he had been unaware of everything.

He glanced out the window of his car and stared absentmindedly at the sky. The sky had since gone dark and he could see some stars twinkling. He had spent longer than he planned to outside, and he hoped Ruby didn't wait up for him. She was pregnant and needed all the rest she could get.
