Jaxon froze. He hadn't even thought that Ruby would be interested in knowing where he had been. But now that he thought about it, he and Damon had left without much explanation and it was only natural to be curious.

He remained quiet not because he didn't have what to say but because he didn't know how to

say it.

He was caught between telling Ruby the truth or brushing the situation off like it was nothing.
