Evening rolled around, and Jaxon ordered the driver to hurry up so that he could pick Ruby up.

He glanced at his watch, saw it was half past five then sighed.

He was late, and he hated being late. He had promised Ruby that he would pick her up by five but he had gotten carried away with work that he didn't notice when the time went by. It had gone by so fast that before he realized what was happening, it was already almost five and he was nowhere near where Ruby was.

The driver pulled up outside the building and Jaxon got out of the car in a rush. He made his way into the house and there was an evident bounce in his steps as he went. He met Ruby waiting for him and immediately started to apologize.

"I'm sorry Gem, I got caught up with work." He apologized as Ruby came up to him and hugged

him.

"It's okay, I understand." She whispered against his chest and his chest rumbled at the heat of her skin.

"Did you have a good time?" He asked her as they walked to the car. He
