seeking truth

Austin's pov.

I felt something was wrong when shield told me that there's something that he needs to do.And i got more suspicious when he said 'alone'.I know him enough to know when something is bothering him.Even though he tries to act normal.I feel there's something different about him.Theres this aura that started surrounding him since he left the hospital.And. It seems to increase as time goes by.Anytime i look at him i see that glint in his eyes that makes me feel like looking at someone or something more superior to me And that has never happened before.Not even with Mrs Tina.

"What could be wrong?" I wondered

I mounted my bicycle with the intention of going home but I noticed that shield was taking a different route home.Its strange cos we hardly take that route since is longer than the one we usually take.

"I might as well as follow this guy and see what's going on" i reasoned. With that in mind i followed after him, though not getting close so he doesn't sight me. The road was very far.And it was tiring cos i had to ride slowly so as to avoid him seeing me.Worst of all he rode his bicycle really fast and since the road was a straight one with few corners i had to drive slowly.At some point i decided to speed up a bit since I no longer saw any signs of him.i continue riding till i got to a conner.when i turned i saw shield....And the Scene that unfold left me shocked....

My pov.

I saw a man leaning on a tree nearby.no he didn't look like a regular man cos he was huge.he was like 'hulk' in the avengers movie.Not just that.his skin was as white as snow with blood red tattoos spiralling his body.The tattoos were moving like they were alive.He had a horizontal cut that ran across his left eye down his Cheeks.he also had a scar on his belly.he was bare bodied except for the cloth he wore from his waist down that ive never seen before.He gave me the feeling of one seeing a ghost.At first i thought it to be some guy wearing some Halloween costume.But no, Halloween was already past and with the aura surrounding him theres no way anyone can make such life like costume.so i pushed that thought aside.He stepped away from the tree and started walking towards me.funny enough though i wasn't scared."if it comes to the worst ill just run away" i thought.

"Umm hi, have we met before? I think you've got the wrong guy don't you think so too?" i said while waving at him which was basically the most foolish thing anyone in my shoes could do. 

"Give your life to me son of Hermes" he said while drawing from his back a pair of saw shaped blades.Thats when it clicked..The blades were exactly the same thing i saw in my dream the day before.

"If this is what am thinking,then am in deep shit" i cursed under my breath.

The next thing I saw was one of the blade flying towards me with a chain attached to its handle.Then time slowed to a snails pace.

While the blade was flying towards me at slow motion i took some seconds to acess the blade.The blade was pure black in colour and it had uneven edges with the middle part of the blade having some indiscernible inscriptions sparkling orange color sparks.The chains on the handle of the blade seem to be connected to his wrist like Spiderman's web.And i don't know how he did that.I side stepped the blade only to find the other flying towards where i was.It was at this point that i knew that it wasn't just some child's play.This guy was really in to killing me.I had to duck and roll side ways again to leave the trajectory of the blades.I stood up to see the blades flying back to him.i guess cos it didn't pierce anything thays why it returned.

"You inherited your father's speed" i heard him say "unfortunately you're weak" he added while  returning the blades to his back.

My shock was just starting as he sprouted a black pair of huge wings from his back.I guess it made him faster cos his speed increased as he flew while running towards me.i don't know what happened but anger started welling up in me making me also charge at him which I term 'stupid'.

Few minutes later i was lying on the ground with swollen cheeks and bruises allover my body with  golden colored blood coming out of my wounds just after a few punch and kicks from him.he started walking towards me.He was few inches away from me.And thats when i saw Austin doing one of the bravest yet most stupid thing someone could ever do.He came behind the guy with a sizeable stick in hand and whipped the guy in the waist and as expected the stick shattered.The guy just stopped for a second and turned towards him while using the back of his hand to wipe Austin away.I knew that if that hand connects,Austin will be dead for sure.Then i acted. I took a deep breath and threw myself towards Austin's direction. I was fast enough to get in front of Austin but not fast enough to save myself from the incoming danger.The force of the hand lifted me off the ground and flung me far away.Austin that was then behind me then got flunged away too from the force of the impact then he passed out.I forced myself to stand up.with intentions of picking up Austin and running away as fast as i could.But when i looked up i saw the guy fading away like a pile of ash being blown by the wind.

"The last time we meet is the day you die.you and all that you cherish son of Hermes"..

Those were the last words he said before he totally vanished which made me remember the dream I had and it sent shivers down my spine.

After i made sure hes gone for real i turned around and tried waking Austin.

"What just happened?" He asked when he finally woke up.

I had no choice but to explain everything to him.atleast i left some parts out,like the dream I had.

"So are you're saying that all this happened after the visit to the tomb?" Austin asked with shock clearly written in his eyes.

"Yes" i replied while were close to the tomb.

Since it all started here then I think the answers will be here" i added after we climbed over the fence.

We got to the entrance of the tomb and we saw the same symbol we saw last we came on the door that had no handle about the symbol of a sandal with a pair of wings at the sides.I tried running my hands along the symbol and suddenly it lit up a blinding golden light and then the door slid up..all i saw inside was just darkness.Austin tried going in but there was some kind of invisible barrier that kept him out but when i placed my hands it let me pass.

"Am sorry buddy i gotta do this alone" i said to Austin while preparing to go in.

"Shout if anything happens okay?" Austin replied still unsure about letting me enter alone.

"Ill be fine bro,wish me good luck" i said as i finally stepped inside the tomb.... walking towards oblivion.walking towards the truths i seek...
