The garden was indeed garden like. The trees were tall, daisies as well as orchids were arranged in a diagonal line as if luring one to enter. The more you entered the more the shape changed into a more curved linear shape. It was beautiful. The grass was perfectly trimmed, the colour was a bright green.
I saw Miguel sitting on a cherry wood bench. He smiled slightly when he saw me.“I heard you were calling for me.” I said. “Is that your best greeting?” “Oh I am sorry. Hello.” “Hello to you too.”“How are you?” “I am quite well and yourself?” “I am alright, I guess.” “Why do you guess?”“No, its nothing. I just..” Miguel eyed me for a while. “Speak up. I wont kill you.” I chuckled. “Its nothing really.” “You refuse to tell me the entire truth about yourself.” “The is no truth to tell.” “What are you hiding Miss?”“Nothing.” “Alright then. I will trust on your words.” “Please do.”Miguel stood from his chair, then walked up to me. He leaned closer and ran his fingers through my hair strands. “Wonderful texture. I like your hair better when it is like this.” “Thank you.” I said. "Can I hold your hand?" "Okay." Miguel smiled, then grabbed my hand gently and kissed it. I blushed with embarrassment. "Have you ever made love with a man before?" "No. I have not." "Forgive me if I offended you." "You didn't. I am not offended. I just don’t want to give away my body to a man who will not appreciate me. I will give it away to a man who really loves me.” “How will you know that the man loves you?” “Well because he’ll make breakfast for me, he will sing for me, hold ,my hand in public, be committed to me, love me as I am and respect me.” Miguel chuckled. “A man can do all of those things and still lie to you. If you want a man to accept you as you are then you need to also accept him for who he is..” Slight guilt hit me, I realized that the man had made an important point. “Can I ask you a Question?” “Yes, go ahead.” “How many woman have you slept with?” Miguel, shot a slight glance at me then smiled. “I really don’t remember.” He said. He could not remember is what he told me, what was does supposed to mean. That there were many or that he had no interest in the women he had slept with but had done it completely drunk without a care in the world. Was he that reckless? I wondered. “You cant remember?” “Yes. I used to play around a lot. I finally decided to stop and look for a woman to become my mate forever. I don’t want to stay alone till I die.” I felt disappointed at the response I received and completely regretted my decision for coming there with him. I wanted to run out like a mad wolf, But I didn’t. “Miguel, before you became a player. Did you ever love anyone, a woman to be precise?” “No, I didn’t. I couldn’t allow it.” “Then what makes you think you can possibly love me if you never allow yourself to feel anything?” “Are you offended?” “Of course not, I am just asking. Argh!” I walked out of Miguel’s sight feeling disgusted with myself. I felt stupid, of course I would follow a complete player who has no feelings for anything or anyone.I sat on my bed with tears in my eyes. Only a day spent and I already had enough. I looked though my cellphone and decided to call my mother, perhaps she would tell me something positive.
“My darling, how are you?” Said Louise, with an excited voice. “I am not good.” I said. “What’s wrong?” “Its Miguel.” “Did Miguel do something bad to you?” Louise asked in a concerned manner. “He is a vicious man. He is evil to the core.” “Did he hurt you?” “No but I think he may not be the right mate for me.” “Why do you say so my darling?” “He has never fallen in love.” Louise chuckled. “Did he tell you that?” She asked. “Yes.” “A man will do anything to hide his vulnerability but a wolf man is worse, they pretend not to have feelings completely on their first match date. He will open up to you eventually.” “What?” “Don’t believe every cold thing he says about himself, he might be the most kindest of wolves. You will never know until you give it some time.” “I think I made a mistake mom. Maybe I should return back home.” “Come back! You mean quit?” Louise asked, in an angry tone. “I cant stay with such a vicious man.” “We tried to match you several times. No one was ever good enough for you. Miguel might be vicious but that is how a true werewolf should be like. You found a perfect mate for yourself” “But mom.” My mother ended the call before I could even finish my conversation with her. I was surprised as well as disappointed. I stood up from the bed and looked out of the window. My thoughts occupied with my own future. Did I even have a future left?” I wondered. Suddenly there was a knock at my door. Not again, I thought. But I opened anyway. Miguel looked at me with pity. “You want to know whether I have ever fallen in love? Truth is I have.” He said. I raised one eyebrow. “I am not as cold and heartless as you think. I too once loved and I don’t really speak about it.” I made a way for the man to enter. He smiled at me for such a small gesture. As if he could finally breath. “Who was she?” “Her name was Sofia. She uhm was my first.” “Oh.” “Yeah.” Miguel chuckled.“I am sorry, but can I ask what happened between the two of you. Why did you separate?” “We didn’t plan to. She was supposed to be my forever mate. But unfortunately she died.” “Oh I am really sorry.” “Well. I was always vicious but she had a way into my soul. I mean I was horrible beyond compare. Killing was the only thing I could meditate upon. I was even hired many times to kill politicians for millions of dollars by the state itself.” I was startled. “And Sofia how did she help you become better?” “She loved me unconditionally and I loved her too.” I sighed in relief. The heartless was not completely heartless, I thought. “Then why did you leave her?” “I didn’t. She was taken away from me in cold blood.” I covered my mouth in shock. “Who killed her?” I asked. “She was returning back from work when a group of homeless humans began to harass her on the streets. And when she tried to defend herself they stabbed her to death. She lost her life and I lost my joy." "Is tha
Zelda contemplated paying a visit to Sasha. Her goal was to utilize her residence as a training ground, given its possession of an intricate obstacle course. Thorne started the car, and began to drive the lunar till he arrived at Sasha's mansion. Zelda was stunned at how beautiful and spacious the yard was. Even though it didn't have many plants, it was quite neat. The outdoor pavement was that of sandstone painted in black, the path to the main door was paved with grey marble. "Please call me when you need me to pick you up." Said Thorne. "But what if she is not even at the house?" "Madam Torres is here, she will open the door you'll see." "Will she even like me?" "Who wouldn't like such an angel like you?" Zelda stepped out of the car slowly yet filled with doubt. The main entrance door did open. Thorne waved her goodbye then drove off. The lunar reached the door and didn't even have to knock as the middle aged woman stood there and looked straight at her. "Oh a
Miguel returned to the house. Sasha began to impart wisdom to her son. "You know I couldn't help but hear your argument with Zelda." "I shouldn't have slapped her." "This family doesn't need any weak wolves. That slap was a warning but if you truly want to make Zelda listen you will have to use force." "What did you want me to do, scratch her make her bleed?" Miguel asked in annoyance. "Being part of our formidable lineage, we cannot afford to exhibit any signs of weakness. We come from a fierce and relentless bloodline, and it is crucial that Zelda develops the strength to match our family's reputation. We cannot allow any weakness to permeate our pack." Miguel listened intently, his mind grappling with conflicting thoughts. "I hear you well. But will beating her make her love me or will she hate me?" "It will make her strong. And one day she will appreciate what you did for her." "Mother, I understand the importance of strength, but do we truly have to be violent? Can
Gilbert was seething with anger as he witnessed the pain in his daughter's eyes. His paternal instincts flared, protective fury fueling his emotions. He couldn't fathom the pain Zelda had endured at the hands of Miguel, and his heart filled with an overwhelming sense of disappointment. Approaching his daughter with a mix of concern and determination, Gilbert gently took her hand and led her to a quiet corner of their home. He wanted to understand what had transpired and how best to support his daughter. "My dear you haven't eaten ever since you came back. I can see that something is wrong, what has happened? Did Miguel do this to you?" Zelda, her voice shaky, recounted the events that had unfolded, her pain and vulnerability laid bare before her father. Tears welled up in Gilbert's eyes as he listened, his anger simmering beneath the surface. "A slap is offensive but it shouldn't be the reason you have to now separate with your mate." "Father, that slap just shows how much Miguel
At the High End hotel. "Seeing you again, just made my entire day." Said Chris. Zelda smiled. "I hope Monica told you I have been matched." "Yes she did. But she also told me you're unhappy." Zelda sighed. Chris grab her by the hand. "Come, you can sit here on the bed. I won't do anything you don't want me to." The lunar did as asked. Tears in her eyes. "I don't know. I just. Its hard." She said. "Every relationship is. Did he hurt you?" "He just surprised me." "What's his name?" "Didn't Monica tell you?" "She said to ask you instead." Zelda chuckled. "He's Miguel Torres." "The one whose wealthy and vicious. Sasha's son?" "So you've heard about him?" "Yes. Why would you.." Zelda felt a sudden annoyance. "Please, stop talking about those people otherwise I'll leave." She said. "Oh I'm sorry." Chris offered Zelda a hug, his scent brought memories to the lunar. She felt a sense of calmness and protection. She enjoyed the scent. She began to pul
The news of Zelda with Miguel did not sit well with Chris. Sleeping became difficult. His jealousy was aroused, his blood hot and raging. He wanted to prove himself as the better mate for Zelda but because of his past quarrel with Louise he knew it would be a difficult war to win. He's return to Bellini did not prove to make much of a difference. He still longed to see Zelda. And so he decided it would be much better if he sent her a necklace to apologise for the disagreement he had with the lunar at the High End hotel. But before spending any money, he needed a little advice, his colleague Dawn was a werewolf who knew jewellery well. "We've been in three store's already, what kind of necklace are you looking for exactly?" "One with many diamonds on it." "How many carats?" Chris rolled his eye's. "No. I just want the diamonds arranged closely on the necklace." Dawn laughed. "Why didn't you say so?" She asked. "I thought looking around a few stores, would help me in fin
Meanwhile, Cecilia who had just finished cleaning the last corner of the house went over to Thorne, who at the time was enjoying his nap inside the limousine. The chauffeur was woken up by the sound of quick footsteps walking towards his direction. He became worried and woke up at that very moment. "What is it?" Cecilia folded her arms. "Really? I hope Mr Torres doesn't find you like that." Thorne hardened his face. "What do you want from me?" The maid giggled. "What would I want from you when you have nothing to give?" "Then stay away!" "Okay I'm sorry then. Don't be angry with me. You know I'm only playing." The chauffeur eyed Cecilia for a moment. "Why are you here?" "Today Miss Zelda got a gift.. But it didn't say from who." "Why are you telling me?" "She smiled when she opened the box." "Well did you see what was inside?" The housemaid made a frown. "Not exactly." "Then why exactly did you even start this topic of yours?" "She his the gift, I
Later that evening, Cecilia had finished cleaning up the kitchen, the last remaining task for the day, was to burn the leftover's as well as serviettes used. She went to the furnace room carrying the items to be burnt. She placed the logs carefully and began to lit them up. But then she noticed the gift box under her favourite chair, the only chair in the room that she usually placed in the corner when she was not in the room. A folding metal chair. "What's this now?" Since the furnace room was not that bright, Cecilia had to rely on the small lamps placed on the walls to see the box clearly. She jumped in excitement as soon as she realised that it was the same gift box that was sent to Zelda. She immediately opened it, assuming maybe she would smell the kind of gift that was in the box. All she could get was that it was metallic. Which could mean that it was a type of jewellery or some other metal object. The housemaid saw the address underneath the box. "A hospital in Bellini?
