Chapter 6

Scarlet's POV

I woke up feeling weak today. Ever since I was thrown into this cell, I wasn't given food.

It has been three days. I looked at the cell to check if the weirdo was awake but I couldn't see much as he was in the dark part of his cell. That corner was like a shell to him.

He would always recoil there whenever he didn't want to have any interaction with anyone.

He's quite knowledgeable I will say, but he was also an ass. I plan on asking him to train me.

Though I am not sure if that is a good idea. I don't even know him or what he can do, but I guess that doesn't matter.

I have decided to leave this pack.

"Someone has finally decided to grow some balls." I heard my wolf Starr say in my mind.

"Oh, so you have finally decided to talk? Well, right now I don't need you to start your "I told you so" talk. I can't even speak to you right now.

You have not been there for me when I needed you most." And with that, I pushed her to the back of my mind.

Apart from the fact that Starr is my wolf, she's more like a best friend to me. These past few years were when I needed her most but she shut me out. That stung.

I tried everything I could to make her talk to me but she didn't respond. Right now I will just focus on myself and deal with the matter later.

I looked at the cell opposite mine to check if my frenemy was awake.

Just on cue, his eyes were opened and he stared back at me.

"I sensed you wanted to talk to me. What is it that you want?" He asked.

To be sincere I was flabbergasted. How did he know?

"How did you know?" My curious self couldn't help but ask.

"Oh, don't worry about that. Like I told you before, you will get to know me later. Now how can I help you little Scar?" He asked.

"First of all, I'm not little. Scar is just fine." I told him.

"But you are so little and you look so cute."

"Stop it." I almost yelled. "Secondly, I need you to train me."

"Train you for what?" He questioned.

"I have decided to leave this pack but I won't be able to survive on my own if I don't know what to expect and how to deal with whatever challenge I am faced with," I explained.

"So you have finally made up your mind? How sure are you that I can train you? I mean you don't even know me or the things I can do."

"Well with the little I have seen these past few days, believe it or not, I know you can."

"Or is it because I am your only choice?" He asked and smirked devilishly.

"Are you gonna teach me or not? I sassed back.

"Alright alright. I will help you but you are not allowed to question anything I ask you to do. You have to work by my rules." He said sternly with all seriousness.

"Yes," I replied, not sure about what I'd gotten myself into.

"Okay, we will start…"

Suddenly, we heard the basement door open.

He recoiled back to his corner and I also pretended to be asleep just to avoid having any interaction with whoever just entered.

I heard the person come closer to my cell and I tried my best to stay as still as I could.

My back was to the door, so I kept staring at the wall hoping that whoever it was would leave as soon as possible.

I heard the person slide something under my door.

"I hope you die one day, bitch." I heard the person say and then leave.

I was not sure who it was but those words stung. I don't know why these words get to me.

I felt a lone tear drop from my eyes but I quickly wiped it away with my hand.

Five minutes after the person was gone. I turned to check what was passed under the door. It was just fruits with a bottle of water. "But I need meat," I whined in my head.

"I think that will do for now." I suddenly heard his voice.

"You mean the fruits? I asked him.

"Yes."

"But I need more protein. I need meat." I whined.

"Would you mind eating my hand? I think it has some meat. He said, looking at me and raising his hands.

"Idiot," I whispered.

"Eating fruits will sustain you. You know that. That will also be part of your training.

You have to learn to survive without food. The people here don't like you, so don't expect them to feed you every day.

These fruits they gave you are just so you don't die." He said.

"I have never seen you eat anything before. How do you survive?" I asked him.

"Oh, I eat but just once a month. He answered me.

"ONCE A MONTH???

"Yeah, it's not a big deal." He said nonchalantly.

"I would do anything to have food for every day."

"That my friend is an idea you have to kill. These coming days are going to be hard on you. And you have to be well prepared." He told me.

I thought about what he said, I was sure he meant every word. Whenever I looked at him, I knew he had a sadistic side and I guess I'm about to find out in the coming days.

"Hey." I heard him call for me.

"You never talk about your wolf. Most werewolves I've met are always blabbering about their wolf." He said.

"Uhhh, my wolf and I are not in the best of relationship. She did something really bad to me and I shut her off."

"For how long has it been going?" He asked me.

"For more than a year now, I guess."

"Wow, I wasn't expecting that. So that meant, you weren't able to heal fast whenever you were brought here beaten up?

"Yeah. It's something I don't like to talk about. So, can you drop it?"

"I'm sorry little one. But you will need your wolf soon. You have to settle your fight with her. Or I would have to stop the training when it gets intense." He said, trying to persuade me.

"I'll think about it."

"Alright Scar. Training starts tomorrow morning. You have the whole night to rethink your decision. See you tomorrow."

And with that, he was back to his usual spot.

I wasn't sure what time it was but I guessed I was close to the evening. I spend the rest of my day thinking about my life and mom.

I also ate the fruit.

I thought about Lily. It has been a few days since I saw her. I hope she's fine. I miss her. Hopefully, I see her before I leave.

And before I knew it, I slept off.
