Scarlet's POV
I started with cleaning the hallways this morning. I didn't want to have any awkward encounters with the Alpha and his friends. I was sure they were still sleeping.
It was still very early so most of the pack members were sleeping except for those on patrol.
I was done with the first floor, so I navigated my way through the house and started heading to the second floor.
As I was about to take the first step, I heard Sharon call me.
I froze.
"Why is she even awake by this time?" I wondered in my mind
"Are you deaf?" She almost yelled.
"No, I'm sorry."
"Make me some ramen noodles and put pickle juice right beside it. Then make my iced coffee with whipping cream. Once you are done, bring it to my room." She ordered.
Then she left me and started climbing up the stairs.
"I'm sorry, but I can't do that. The Alpha said…."
The next thing I knew was that she was coming to me with anger, ready to give me the biggest talk of my life.
"How dare you question my order?" She screamed.
I don't think I said this earlier, but Sharon is pregnant and has crazy mood swings.
With the rate at which she was shouting the whole pack could wake up.
I couldn't afford to have any more drama, so I apologized and started making her food.
Within twenty-five minutes the food was ready. I made it very quickly because if any of the omegas on duty caught me in the kitchen, I could be in trouble.
I left the kitchen hastily with the food well-balanced on a tray. When I got to the front of the beta's room, I knocked.
Two minutes later the door was opened and I came face to face with the beta.
"Uhh, your mate asked me to make this for her," I said as I raised the food tray a little.
"Is that coffee?" He queried.
"Yes, she asked me to make it," I told him.
"And why would you make it? Didn't you know pregnant women aren't supposed to take too much of it? She had two cups an hour ago."
"Hey! How am I supposed to know that she already had two cups earlier?" I thought in my mind. I was beginning to get irritated.
Suddenly, I felt cold liquid hit my face and I heard the glass cup shatter at my feet. The food tray was snatched from my hand and he shut the door in my face.
What the heck???
I brought my hand to my face and wiped the coffee off. Suddenly my hands started shaking and it only happened whenever I was very angry.
I took deep breaths to calm myself. When I became calm, I went back to cleaning the hallways.
Most pack members were already awake and there were movements in the hallways.
With people moving around, I had to stop cleaning. I don't want them stepping on what I just cleaned.
Within twenty minutes, things were back to normal. Most people were already at their duty posts.
Some were already at the training ground, some in the kitchen, some in the medical wing attending to people and so many more.
This was the best time for me to finish my work because almost everyone would be out. Since breakfast is by 8:30.
So I cleaned all the hallways and headed to the gamma's room. I wanted to start with his room because I don't want to have any encounters with Sharon yet.
I got to the front of the gamma's door and opened it. Tyler was yet to find his mate so I don't think there should be much to clean.
As I stepped into his room, I noticed everything was clean. His bed was properly laid and most of his things seemed to be in order.
"Now this is the kind of room I would love to clean every day." I thought to myself.
I went to his closet and realized he had some dirty clothes. So I picked up the clothes and headed to the laundry. I put the clothes in the machine and timed them.
I went back to the room and cleaned all the necessary things. When I was done, I went back to get his clothes. I folded them neatly and kept them in his closet.
The next room I decided to clean was the Alpha. I entered and looked around.
Dirty clothes were lying around and his shoes were dumped not too far from the door.
So I picked up the clothes and took them to the laundry. I went back to his room, cleaned the shoes, and arranged them in his closet. I cleaned the entire room and went to the laundry to get his clothes.
Most of his clothes were already ironed. So, I only ironed the clothes I just washed.
I was pretty proud of my work when I was done.
The last room left was the beta's room. I sighed as I started walking to the door.
I got to the front of the door and stared at it wishing it could just disappear. I knocked on the door to be sure that nobody was inside.
I waited for five minutes just to be sure. When I decided to open the door, suddenly it was flung open and there stood Sharon.
"What do you want?" She was annoyed that I disturbed her sleep. Her hair was everywhere and the frown on her face was enough for me to start talking.
"The Alpha asked me to clean the rooms on this floor."
She looked at me surprised but opened the door wider for me to step in.
"Very well then, as you can see that there's a lot of work to do. Get to work and don't break anything. I'll be on the bed sleeping. Don't make any noise and don't break anything." She ordered.
I looked around the room and wondered how she and Liam were able to sleep comfortably.
Everything was everywhere. The walk-in closet was very scattered. Shoes, clothes, and bags were lying around. There were also leftover pizzas, juice cans, and Oreos.
I got to work and started cleaning.
It took a while before I was able to finish and when I was done Sharon was still sleeping.
I left the room quickly because I didn't want to be there when she woke up. She could have another mood swing and I was not really for her craziness.
I descended the stairs and went to the kitchen. My next task today was to feed the rogues in the cells. Hopefully, things go well.
As I stepped into the kitchen, all eyes turned to me. I ignored them and went straight to the head cook.
You see, before I started cooking in the kitchen there was a head cook. But I guess she is not happy about getting her role back seeing the anger written on her face.
"Why are you here mutt?* she asked.
"The Alpha asked me to collect food for the rogues," I answered her, looking down and staring at my worn-out sandals.
Suddenly, everyone started laughing.
"Very well then, their food is on the counter behind you." She said with an evil smile.
"Why are these clowns laughing?" I thought to myself.
I went to the counter and looked at the food. It was very small. It was just something to make them stay alive.
I picked up the food, placed it on a tray, and went to the basement. I descended the stairs and opened the door.
I started distributing the food. I passed it under the door. I noticed the rogues rush to pick it.
It was mainly meat. So it should help. As I got to the door opposite my cell. I noticed that the rogue was in its usual place. It stayed in the darkness.
Suddenly, golden eyes appeared in the dark and stared back at me. Though I got used to the eyes staring at me whenever I was brought to my cell, this was different.
I couldn't move and I kept staring back. I heard movement in the cell and I knew the rogue was trying to come closer.
When he came out to the light, he was in his human form. He still held his gaze and I still couldn't move.
I shook my head and bent down to pass his food under the cell door.
The tension in the air was thick because his gaze was so intense.
I served the remaining wolves and left the basement.
Since everything went well I wondered why everyone was laughing when I said I was assigned to feed the rogues. Did they think something would happen?
As I stepped out of the pack house, I noticed it was still evening. My stomach started making noise and I remembered I haven't eaten anything today.
So I decided to go to the garden to see if I could get any fruit to eat. I walked slowly, enjoying the evening breeze. This was one of the times when I cleared my head.
I sat down under a tree thinking about my mom. She does not stay in the pack house because the whole pack felt that she didn't deserve to.
For a long time, my family has been seen as cursed. Even before I got to find my mate nobody wanted to have anything to do with me.
My mom was all I got. Dad died when I was five years old. Mom was sick and I had to hunt every day to get what we would eat.
We could not have normal meals so the meat was all we ate.
Most times when I go hunting, I wasn't always lucky because my wolf was small.
On those kinds of days, I would kill small animals and bring them home. That was how we lived and sustained ourselves.
I wonder how she's surviving now.
My mind wandered to my wolf. She hasn't spoken to me in a year now. It was after a severe punishment I got from Adam, my mate.
She begged me to run away but I tried explaining to her why I couldn't. Since then she stopped talking to me. I guess she's mad at me.
I feel so lonely.
I stood up and went to pluck some fruits to eat. They don't satisfy me, but they sustain me.
I went back to my room and retired for the night.
Scarlet's POV Weeks passed and I was already used to the new normal. Sharon has made my life very miserable. Gamma Tyler found his mate some weeks ago and I wished she was like Tyler. I don't know why these ladies crave so much power. When she came, she and Sharon clicked quickly. They made it a duty to make life miserable for me. So far, today has been going well. I went to the laundry to collect some of Sharon's clothes. I headed straight to her room to drop them off. I was about to leave the Alpha's floor when I noticed everyone rushing to go downstairs. That meant they were mind linked to assembling somewhere. I was not part of the mind link because when the Alpha got to know I was his mate, he rejected me. When I accepted the rejection I was no longer a member of the pack. Even though I live with them here, I was nothing more than a rouge. I don't know why they allowed me to stay in the pack but I'd rather be here than be a rouge. This reason is why my wolf doesn't want t
I woke up feeling pain all over me. I looked around trying to decipher where I was. I noticed I was in my usual cell in the basement. It became my second home. I tried sitting up but I couldn't. I remembered how they injected me with some sort of drug.My mum. She was gone. They killed her and I've never felt so numb in my entire life. I stared into space thinking about all the moments I had with her. Nobody can replace her. Nobody. I kept staring into space for a long time thinking about my mum, till I saw those familiar golden eyes glow in the dark staring back at me."For how long will you keep thinking about her?" The owner of those eyes questioned me. "Till I die?" I replied to him. "Why are you talking to me? I thought you were dumb?" I asked him emotionlessly. Everything was beginning to irritate me. I had frequented this basement cell times without a number and he didn't speak to me. I even tried the last time I came to serve him food but he just kept staring. Now he wan
Scarlet's POVI woke up feeling weak today. Ever since I was thrown into this cell, I wasn't given food. It has been three days. I looked at the cell to check if the weirdo was awake but I couldn't see much as he was in the dark part of his cell. That corner was like a shell to him.He would always recoil there whenever he didn't want to have any interaction with anyone. He's quite knowledgeable I will say, but he was also an ass. I plan on asking him to train me.Though I am not sure if that is a good idea. I don't even know him or what he can do, but I guess that doesn't matter. I have decided to leave this pack. "Someone has finally decided to grow some balls." I heard my wolf Starr say in my mind."Oh, so you have finally decided to talk? Well, right now I don't need you to start your "I told you so" talk. I can't even speak to you right now.You have not been there for me when I needed you most." And with that, I pushed her to the back of my mind. Apart from the fact that Sta
It's been seven days since I started my training with the weirdo. He wasn't joking when he said it was going to be intense. Mentally, emotionally, and physically I was drained. He taught me how to meditate. He taught me a lot about the werewolf body. Where to attack and how to easily kill a werewolf. He explained it so well that I understood it perfectly.I did a lot of exercises and also learned how to fight. He taught me how to fight with my imagination.Another thing I got to know about him was that he was a dream walker. I mean how cool was that? When I slept in the night, he would appear in my dream and make me fight with werewolves. He made me practice everything he taught me during the day. He would take me to different places in the dream realm and show me different things trying to explain to me how things worked. Whenever I woke up from such dreams, I was always tired. "You know, this is the point where you need your wolf. Sort things out with her and we will continue wi
Scarlet's POVI heard the door open and I knew that what I dreaded most was about to happen. I saw the shadow come nearer, walking slowly but still with calculated steps. I knew I had gone too far today but what else was I supposed to do? The shadow disappeared as the figure of the person came to light. It was the alpha. That only meant one thing. He started coming closer to me and all I could do was to pray to the moon goddess. I knew I should have kept my mouth shut but it was just too much for me to hold in. Before I knew it he was beside me. He grabbed me from the collar of my clothe and held he up. "You keep defying me, why?" He asked. "Look at me when I speak to you." He shouted. I raised my head and looked at him.We are supposed to be mates! I held back my words. Ever since the full moon two years ago, my life has become miserable. Not that it was any better before but I would trade my present life to get the former back. Two years ago, while celebrating the full moon.
Scarlet's POV"Oh, shit shit shit" I whispered in horror as I realized I woke up late. I ran to wear my sandal and didn't bother to have my bath because any second wasted would cost me a lot.I ran out of my room and headed towards the pack house. I entered through the back door and navigated my way to the kitchen. I was about to enter the kitchen when I fell. Pain pierced through my body and I struggled to stand up. I had to muffle my screams as I didn't want to draw any attention to myself.Unknown to me, some omegas were around and were already laughing at me. Most of them were always happy to see me in pain. I stood up, raised my head, and headed straight for the kitchen. They threw vile words at me, calling me all sort of names. But over the years I've learnt to ignore them. They are not worth my peace of mind. I tried not to pay attention to the words. I heard them almost every day and I had gotten used to them over time. They were all I heard as I made my way through their
