Draco’s POV

We hurried to the Council after a weird encounter with my mate near the boarders Still Moon Pack to report on the Werewoods.

As expected, the attack of the Still Moon Pack by Ralf and his pack of rogues had raised alarm bells with the Council.

Elder Louis, famous for his uncontrollable temper, had almost lost his head at the purported insult to the Council, which he saw as a stain to his person.

He’d struggled to keep his rage under control as he’d screamed, “Preposterous!””

Even Elder Selene, who was good-natured, had a deep frown marring her features.

Ralf’s blatant disregard for our team, which had served as a representative to the Council had placed him on the top of their radar.

Elder Derek, who was usually stoic and unmoved, had seemed offended by Ralf’s disregard and has sent out a team on his trail.

I shook my head at the thought of the fate that awaited Ralf and his team should the hunt sniffed out his hiding place.

Elder Derek was usually stoic, but he co

I’d rescued the pup by the roadside while returning from a trip to the Crescent Hills two years after assuming the mantle as Alpha of this pack.Ever since, he’d become an unshakable tail, trailing behind me everywhere I went.I’d given him the name Theo, as he had no memory of who he was or where he was from. He was the little sibling I’d never had while growing up.“I guess I’ve now become invisible.”We turned around to find Sebastian watching us with a pained expression. The look of mock hurt on his face was so hilarious and we all burst into laughter.Theo exchanged hugs and received a round of backslaps from the men as we all moved towards the doors of the pack house. Unlike the Still Moon Pack, we all lived in the pack house because

We just got back,” I said helplessly. They could go on and on if I let them, and from the knowing looks the others wore, I knew they shared similar opinions.Sebastian had the grace to look embarrassedHe said, “My apologies, Alpha,” all signs of mischief gone from his person.Sophie, however, didn’t give a hoot and was still giving Sebastian a death glare. The rest of the team dispersed, all headed to their rooms to rest and reunite with loved ones within the pack. All except Theo, who was waiting to drill stories of the entire trip out of me.Theo didn't care about Sophie and Sebastian’s bickering. He glanced at me in full anticipation.“Uncle, tell me all about your trip. Was it dangerous? Did you encounter rogues on the way?” Theo was full of excitement as he asked. This was my cue to leave while Sophie was distracted as once she got hold of my attention, trying to cut her loose would be like trying to get a red wine stain off a white shirt. She w

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Intruder

Draco’s POVI stifled down a groan as I glanced at the door in frustration. Who could it be this time?I moved forward and turned the doorknob, opening the door to the intruder. It was no other than Sebastian, sporting a cheeky smile. He sauntered into my room, ignoring my look of annoyance.Typical Sebastian.I folded my arms across my chest and turned to him with a questioning glare. He gave me a look of mock hurt.“So is this what I get for stalling Sophie while you made your escape?”We both burst into laughter.Sophie had been a menace to me since I took up the mantle of Alpha. She believed she was my mate and the Luna of this pack and had gotten up to many silly antics just to achieve this.Sebastian and I then came up with a means of dealing with her whenever she started causing havoc in the pack.I pulled Seb in for a brotherly hug and a pat on the back, a huge smile overtaking my face.“Thanks, man, I owe you one.”“Speaking of debts, you still haven’t told me exactly what’s

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Draco’s Decision

Draco’s POV I didn’t intend to inform the pack of my new mate so soon. But, with the situation now, there was no point in hiding it any longer. With a sigh, I closed the office door and moved to sit behind the desk under Sebastian’s curious stare. “What just happened?” He asked a question to which he already knew the answer, but I answered him anyway. “A pack member now knows about Sera’s existence and in no time, the news would spread to all and sundry,” I said, running a hand through my hair in frustration. I wanted to break the news to the pack given the current circumstances, but this situation has decided for me. It was important to me that no unfounded rumours about my mate or our union got out unchecked, especially considering her standing with the council. “This is not good. The pack is very unwelcoming to other shifters and having an Alpha as a second-chance mate is even more peculiar.” Sebastian’s words echoed my concerns. It was going to be interesting to see who’

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Sophie

Draco’s POVThere was no choice left to make.I drummed on the desk with my fingertips as I thought of how best to present this issue before the leaders. My pack was very delicate and we haven’t welcomed strangers into the pack since we overcame the insurgency. There were a few leaders which I knew could pose a problem to the success of the meeting.Elder Kelvin, a former Alpha of the pack and the grand-elder of this pack, was a recluse. He was difficult to deal with, though I knew the right words to get him where to come around. The initial scepticism is to be expected, but I’d make sure they eventually embrace the idea. The major obstacle would be the question of how both packs would come together, a question which I couldn’t answer myself.I ran a hand through my hair and closed my eyes with a deep sigh.Let’s not think about this now. I needed to trash the heap of files before. And I set out doing just that.I stretched a couple of hours later after I’d handled the files and clear

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Sophie’s Contenance

Draco’s POVThe nagging suspicion stayed with me even until dinner time.I got to the dining area to find the place gradually filling up as pack members streamed into the room while exchanging greetings.“Alpha!”They all rose and bowed in deference, acknowledging my presence.I waved off the greetings, and they all sat down expectantly. The pack, because of our small size, was closely knit, and everyone cared for each other. There was no such thing as a complete family in this pack. All around me were shifters who’d lost one or two members of their family, with many having lost their entire family to the pack crisis from half a decade ago.I frowned as I glanced around the room, noticing Sophie’s glaring absence. She’s been noticeably absent since my return, which was unusual.I walked towards my seat at the head of the table just as Seb and Bruno came in through the door leading into the dining area. They were headed in my direction, and I smiled fondly at their approach. Bruno ha

Draco’s POVI turned to find that Seb had also noticed Sophie’s rushed exit. We exchanged glances and I could see the same suspicions reflected in his eyes.If Sophie was the intruder at the pack office, then the situation could get pretty tricky.I was well aware of her persistent need to be the Luna of this pack, and Sera’s existence was throwing a wrench into her plans.I was determined to take control of the entire situation before it got out of hand, as things could get ugly. There was no point confronting her now, but the outcome of tomorrow’s meeting was even more important.Bruno quietly watched us from his seat. His expression showed that he could feel the tension in the almost emptied area.“Does anyone intend to tell me what is going on here?” He kept his voice low, cautious of the few pack members still in the dining area.I stood, and they both stood alongside me.“Tomorrow, man,” I said, giving Bruno a pat on the back while he watched me in question.I was ready to retir

Draco’s POVThe door to the room right beside mine came open, and Sebastian came out fresh from the shower. He glanced at us, wondering what we were doing standing in the hallway.I ignored his look and proceeded towards the stairs. “Let’s head to the meeting room, since we’re all here.”Bruno and Seb trailed after me in silence as I descended the stairs. We’d just reached the end of the stairs when Freya came through the dining area.“Good morning, Alpha,” she bowed, “Sebastian and Bruno, how was your night? Hope you had a nice rest?” “Freya, you look lovely, as always. I had a good night’s rest, thank you.”Sebastian had a wide grin. Freya was a favorite of most of the pack members and he was no exception. With a smile, she announced, “Breakfast is almost ready. We should set the table in 30 minutes.”The meeting was to be held after breakfast and as pack members began streaming in. Bruno wasn’t the only one curious about the reason for the meeting. The leaders were making an appe

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Marc’s Death

Sera’s POVI remained in a daze as the pack collected the bodies of dead pack members and arranged for their burial. They were buried two days later in the woods, which was home to all shifters. We shifters are the most happy and fulfilled when racing in the woods in our wolf form and one with nature. Therefore, dead shifters were buried right in the woods, which was a gift from the moon goddess, Selene. The ceremony was held at night, with the uninjured pack members in wolf form as a sign of respect to the dead. The Still Moon Pack was going to bury its Alpha that night, and the woods filled with mournful howls.Sometimes during the wee hours of the morning, after remaining clear-eyed throughout the past two nights and not sleeping a wink, my tired body had given in and I’d finally fallen into fitful sleep.I’d woken up to find my claws gone and my eyes back to normal. I’d unknowingly left my half-shifted state. Now, I stood at the edge of the woods, watching as the large procession

Sera’s POV My conversation with Draco at the pack’s office once Millie and Miles had left about the new name of the pack remained at the forefront of my mind as I went around the pack for the rest of the day.Even spending time with the twins and hearing about Ruby’s latest adventures had done nothing to purge my mind of such thoughts.Though we hadn’t been able to come up with a suitable name for the pack, Draco had helped me realise the importance of picking a suitable name for the new pack. We’d keep it on hold for now and focus on getting the packs to accept the new situation and learn to accommodate each other.Which was why I was up even earlier than usual this morning. I lay awake in bed, staring up at the ceiling above my head, lost in thoughts. The window by the right of my queen-sized bed remained open throughout the night, and the tree just beyond the window swayed in the gentle morning air.I sighed as thoughts of today’s meeting streamed into my mind just as the wheels

Sera’s POVMiles and I turned to look at Draco.“I already arranged things with my Beta, Sebastian, back in the pack. They should be on their way soon. That end is all settled,” Draco announced with a smile.“Wait, on their way? You mean your entire pack members?” Millie glanced at him in horror while I threw him a murderous look. The intensity of my glare could have buried him alive, if possible. All his talk of coming to inform me about his plans before the Council summons situation was just bullshit.I swore under my breath. He’d intended to do things his way, regardless of my opinion. My look must have been telling of my state of mind, because a sudden strange voice sounded in the sea of my subconscious.A strange, familiar yet unfamiliar voice.“Of course, I care about and respect your opinion, my heart. I was just very determined to do nothing else but convince you.”I stilled in shock at the strangely familiar voice in my head.It was unmistakably Draco’s voice in my head. The

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Settled

Sera’s POV “How is that even possible?” Millie looked like she’d just heard the most ridiculous joke in history, and I didn’t blame her for that. I gave Draco, the author of the most ridiculous idea in history, an accusing glance. But he just shrugged, without a care in the world. “That has never happened in the history of the Werewoods. Besides, both packs would find it difficult to adjust to the new systems and faces,” Miles said, in contemplation of said ridiculous idea. Millie watched him in disbelief that he would even contemplate how to achieve such an idea. “Have you forgotten that Sera and Draco are alphas in their own right? And that each pack has its leadership?” Millie sounded unconvinced that such an idea could ever work, and once again, I couldn’t blame her. I’d passed through this stage of doubting the idea, and watching her was like watching myself. It was Draco who answered her this time. “Both packs would continue to operate with the previous leadership whil

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   The Real News

Sera’s POV“We are almost at the pack’s borders, Alpha.”Steve, the pack enforcer who’d taken driver duties for the trip, said through the mind link, just as we neared the pack’s borders.I glanced up in surprise at the sudden appearance of his voice in my head, only to meet his stare through the rearview mirror. He had a contemplative gleam as he glanced from me to Draco, who sat beside me.He sure had a sharp nose, seeing as he’d noticed.I understood his words. The enforcers would have to return to their border duties, ignorant of the meeting’s outcome, once we reached the pack borders.“Don’t worry, Steve. I’d call for a meeting to discuss the outcome once we are ready,” I returned through the mind link. The journey back was fraught with a palpable tension, Draco’s presence only exacerbating it. I could feel Miles and the others watching us, hoping to get hints of the situation from our body language. It didn’t help that only Miles knew about the relationship between Draco and me.

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   One Page

Sera’s POVI watched as the elders left one after the other with their entourage while ignoring Draco’s inquisitive eyes on my person.I’d thought it through.Elder Selene was right. With my current state, every single day of being pregnant means the likelihood of being able to shift reduces, because as my pregnancy advances, the weaker I’d get.I sighed, feeling helpless.Female shifters usually carried their pups for just 8 months before giving birth. With me almost 3 months gone, being unable to shift would put my life and that of my pup and the entire pack in danger. From this point of view, this arrangement came just when I needed it. Besides, it was on the condition of a three-month probation. That was something I could always use to my advantage.I’d decided. But I was avoiding Draco now because I didn’t want to have the difficult conversation of why I’d hidden the pregnancy from him.As if on cue, he walked over and came to a stop beside me just as the last elder - Selene exit

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Sera’s Guard

Present day…“Yes, Elders. I am carrying a pup and I can’t shift because of my pregnancy.”A voice emanated from inside the council hall.I paused mid-stride, in shock at the strikingly familiar voice of my mate.Sera’s resigned voice registered in my head, but I couldn’t process the words she’d altered. The words swarmed around in my head while I stood there in a daze, unmoving.Sera was carrying our pup, the fruit of our union, and evidence of our bond.I shook my head in disbelief as boundless joy filled my heart. My wolf howled in joy, and I knew he wanted so badly to let loose and run unhindered in the woods where he’d found home. But I frowned as I realized Sera had never intended to tell me about my pup. Vivid memories of my time in the Still Moon Pack told me all there was to know. My mate had known about the pup all along, but refused to tell me.Her unusual weakness and the fact that she’d been fighting off wolves while in human form should have been odd to me, but the impe

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Sera’s Name

Draco’s POVTwo days earlier…“Alpha, you have a message from the Council.”I had just settled into the chair behind the desk at the pack office and was about to dive into the pile of files on my desk when Bruno burst in through the office doors with a letter.I glanced up in confusion, wondering what the Council was up to. It was barely past a week since the pack tour wrapped up and they’d come knocking again.“What does it say?” I asked, distracted by the pile of files before me.“It’s a sealed letter,” Bruno said, showing the seal to me.“Must be another summon. Put it away. I’ll attend to it later.”“Alright, Alpha. Seb said to tell you he has begun the arrangements for the move and asked that I confirm the date with you.”At the pack meeting the other day, I suggested we move to the Still Moon Pack, shocking the pack leadership. But, they had quickly come around after I tabled the moon advantages of the move to them. Which was why plans were in place for the move, even when I had

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Three-Month Probation

Sera’s POV“In your grand plans, who is going to be the Alpha of this great pack? You know that two alphas cannot handle one pack, right?”I couldn’t keep the sarcasm out of my voice. The Elder all turned to look at Draco, waiting for his response. This question was a tricky one, which was difficult to solve. On one hand, Draco, as a male shifter and acknowledged as the strongest Alpha in the Werewoods, can not be asked to relinquish power to me.It was damned near impossible. As it stood, a majority of the elders on the Council would elect for Draco to assume full authority over the pack.Because I was new, inexperienced and a female. My eyes narrowed as I clenched my fist fight.“Our mate is wonderful, yeah. But, no one, not even someone I like, could Walt in and take what’s mine,” Amary’s voice echoed through my mind, as domineering as ever. For once, I was thankful that we were on the same page.My eyes must have been glowing, for Draco watched me in silence, his attention directe
