“Do you think this is acceptable?” Mora growled at Alpha Miller when he did not immediately defend her. She did not like how he was acting and the way he could not keep his eyes off me.

Mora was jealous!

A small part of me felt good about the tables being turned, she would know how I had been made to feel since the day I found out he was my mate.

He had rejected me and made me feel like a worthless piece of shit. I cried for days after that, felt lower than a limbo stick on its lowest setting. They had destroyed my dreams of having my happy ending. They were the reason that I had left my life here, my family and everything I had ever known.

When I had arrived at my uncles pack, I had been a right mess. But meeting Zara she had become my rock. We hit it off and became the best of friends. She was the one to make me realise that I deserved better than him anyway.

The moon goddess has made a huge mistake when pairing me with him. He was selfish and arrogant. Thought only of himself.

“I am the Luna of this pack.” Mora insisted like she were afraid that I was about to snatch it all from her.

“You are more than welcome to this pack and your alpha. I am leaving. You can carry on with this shit show. Good bye.” I stood up to leave the room but Alpha Miller leapt over the table in a desperate bid to prevent me from leaving.

“Isla, please. Do not leave. We need to talk.” Alpha Miller pleaded like a pathetic fool. I looked down at him in disgust and freed myself.

“You cannot be serious, Miller! You are my mate. Not hers.” Mora shrieked wide eyed as she back away from him.

“Get out of my sight you stupid bitch.” He snarled in his alpha tone, over his shoulder to her. She was shocked by his sudden change of attitude.

I was repulsed that he was even considering to try and win me back. He could burn in hell first.

“My wolf, he never forgave me for rejecting you and ever since you came back he’s been going crazy for you. I know you feel it too.” He carried on begging.

I allowed myself to look down at him meeting his gaze, he was desperate for my approval. I saw in his eyes how he yearned for me, the guilt and regret in his face.

“You rejected me, remember? You let everyone treat me like shit. You went with another female and tossed me aside like I was rubbish.” I started to spout out, letting all the anger, frustration and hurt out. He needed to know how his actions had affected me, how this was all his own fault.

“And now she is pregnant with your pup. I can’t forgive you for any of this.” I said, holding my head up high. He was not going to make me crack.

He was not going to undo all of my hard work and bring the old me out. I was stronger than that now, I deserved better than someone who threw me aside and thought it perfectly fine to pick me up when it suited.

I smirked and shook my head. “You made your choice. Live with it.” I turned on my heel and left the room.

There was no way that I was going to sit back and let him treat me like a mug. No chance would anyone ever mess with my head again!

Mora was more than welcome to his weak ass. He was no alpha in my eyes.

Walking out of the pack-house and feeling the fresh air hit me was a nice feeling. I felt a whole weight off my shoulders since I had just put the alpha in his place. Mora thought she was perfect, a queen that everyone should bow down to.

Not me.

She had made my life hell for so long and I disliked her for it. Even though I did not want my stupid ex mate that did not mean I would ever be on with how I had been treated.

Seeing Aly and a few other omegas sitting together on the benches, laughing and joking about something. Aly was swinging her legs to and fro when she suddenly looked up, catching my eyes and waving to me.

“Hey, Isla would you like to join us?” She called out, as if forgetting our little argument earlier. I was about to decline her offer when the other girls turned and gasped.

“Isla Higgins?” I recognise one of them as Jasmin. Her mouth was wide open in disbelief as she stared at me longer than she really needed to.

“That would be me.” I raised my eyebrows.

“I am so sorry it is just, well you look so different.”

She looked nervous so I grinned and shrugged like it was no big deal. I know what she meant.

I was no longer fatty Isla. Instead I was slimmer, toned and my hair was different.

I was about to assure her that it was fine she did not need to apologise to me when I noticed the others suddenly turn their eyes to the left of me and bow.

I did not need to look over my shoulder to see why.

“Isla Higgins, I demand you come back inside at once.”

I rolled my eyes and sighed as Alpha Miller had followed me out.

He was mad to think he could order me about since I was no longer a part of this pack.

“I, Isla Higgins accept your rejection of me as your mate and Luna to Pembroke Pack.”

The echo of shocked gasps around us made Alpha Miller even more furious.

I did not care anymore. ,

He was nothing to me now and it was as if a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders.

She had never accepted the rejection, just packed her things and left without any warning. If I had known then I would have stopped her and made her stay but how could I? I had already rejected her, chosen Mora as my mate and Luna. Mora was a beautiful she wolf that all the unmated wolves wanted back then. I saw how they would drool over her. Isla POV My brother Daniel was so stupid to challenge the alpha. Miller was much more stronger and powerful than my brother. Daniel was going to get himself killed at this rate. “Stop. Now!” I ordered them. Not that it made any difference since the crowd were going wild, cheering and egging them both on. I pulled myself away from the two idiots and pushed my way through the crowd. Running through the pack house I frantically searched for my sister. It did not take long before I saw her. She looked like she were a million miles away and it was obvious she was still upset about earlier when Daniel had lost his temper with us. Now he wanted to play the big brother act like he used to. I could have handled Miller myself but something ran deeper in Daniel. He held a lot of hatred towards the alpha. “Isla, please do not leave. Stay the night. I need you here. Our mother needs you.” She touched my arm and looked at me with such a pleading look in her eyes that I cou

Cora looked straight up, and relief flooded her face the second she saw me. I noticed our mother sitting in bed, looking extremely glum. “Oh, Isla. Please, will you forgive me?” She started to weep as soon as I closed the door behind me. Cora shrugged her shoulders, unsure what to say to either of us. “What do you mean?” I queried, making my way to the empty side of the bed. “I am so sorry for suggesting that Daniel fetch you. Your uncle has been calling and calling. They all miss you back at the Eclipse.” She sighed, using the back of her hand to wipe her tear-stained face. Cora handed her a clean handkerchief and remained silent, looking at me to see how I would respond. "I want you and Cora to return with me to Uncle Ed's. There is nothing here for either of you," I announced. My mother gasped; her face turned a pale white as if she had seen a ghost while Cora shook her head. Her eyes had turned into substantial round saucers as she thought over what I had sai

I smirked at him as he looked from me to Mora. She looked like she wanted to kill me and I would be dead if looks could kill. “Well, she is not your fated mate is she? So obviously she has a mate. Do you think that she doesn’t already know who that is?” There was gasps and silence around us as I could see everyone was shocked that old Isla could stick up for herself against the mighty alpha. He was a fool to think that I would sit and take any shit. Being at Eclipse had made me stronger, the training I had every day. My uncle Ed took no laziness, there was no room for slacking. We all did our bit and worked our arsed off. Alpha Miller was nothing compared to the Eclipse. “Well, are you going to let her speak to me and you like that. In front of the pack?” Mora practically shouted causing Alpha Miller to growl. “And why is Amanda out of bed? Should you not be resting since your mate ordered the alpha to make sure that you did not cause anymore drama to yourself of the

It did not take long for me to find my mother, she was laying in her human form sprawled out naked by the stream. I immediately howled in distress and shifted back to my human form. Not caring that I was now naked and sensed that he had followed me. I rushed to my poor mother and started to cry because I was scared. What if she died? She was barely breathing and looked like she had been attacked since she was covered in cuts that looked fresh. “Isla, please allow me to help. This is my fault.” he sighed and I could see that he meant well but that did not mean I was about to give him any chance of hope with me. “Here.” he suddenly went behind a huge oak tree. I wondered what he was doing when he reappeared with a bundle of clothing. He was also dressed in a tracksuit bottoms and white plain top. “What is this?” I frowned and took the clothing that he was holding out to me. It was two dresses and some clean underwear. I glanced up at him and raised

“Where am I? What happened to me?” Our mother tried to sit up as her eyes fluttered open. She looked around the room, dazed and then the panic set in. “Why am I here? What is going on?” She started to pull at the tubes and wires off her while Cora called for the doctor. In a few moments, the pack doctor and a couple of nurses had calmed mother down with a sedative since she was freaking out and disturbing the other patients. “Your mother needs to rest now for a bit. Once she is awake, we will call for you.” The doctors said and I agreed. She would be a bit better once she had slept it off. Cora and I walked out of the pack hospital to get some fresh air and discuss what we would do next since Daniel was not coming back and if Uncle Ed head about this, he would demand I return. I could not leave my family here at Pembroke again. My mother was broken, and my sister would have nobody else since goddess knows where our father was. Not that I would want to see him.

“Is there something you need to say?” My father roared angrily my way causing Cora to tremble and lower her gaze to the ground. I wrapped the huge dressing gown around me that Aly appeared with. She quickly scuttled off without even looking at me. They were afraid of my father. He was nothing. Who did he think that he was? “What could I possibly need to say?” I bit back refusing to allow this piece of shit to make me submit. He had no power over me. I did not see him as my father any longer, he did not deserve any respect from me. His eyes flashed and his warning growl told me that he was not impressed by my response to him. I did not care. He was not going to come back here and bark out orders to me like he had done nothing wrong. My mother was inside that hospital, all because of him. He did not give a toss about any of us. “Isla, you cannot leave. Your mother has just passed away.” Alpha Miller came rushing into the room in a right state. My sister started to scream horrible ear piercingly. I felt numb. My mother was gone! That was all his fault. “Your father wants to speak to you. He wants to explain.” Alpha Miller tried to convince me, but no. No way. Why should I give that murderer the time of day after what he had just done? This was all his fault. If he had never done what he had done, then this would never have even happened. I did not want to see him. “No, Miller. I do not wish to see him. You know, as you’re not my alpha, you cannot force me to do anything he says.” I pointed out solemnly. Alpha Miller sighed and nodded. He knew that I was right in what I was saying. Cora was crying her heart out, and I went to hug her. She was still my sister, and I felt awful that our mother had died. But I could not stay here and be around him. I hated him. “Get me

We were no longer just a pack of wolves; we were a force of nature, an unquenchable flame ignited by our collective resilience and unity. With every heartbeat, the anticipation surged through us, amplifying each flicker of power as we stood against him, determined to banish the darkness that had haunted the edges of our lives. “Enough!” he roared, charging at me, the darkness pooling around him in a furious torrent. I could feel the malevolence radiating off him like heat from a fire, trying to instil fear within our hearts. Yet, as he bore down on me, I could see the uncertainty behind that ferocity. He was no longer the predator; he was desperate. “Together!” I shouted again, urging my pack to rally. Carrie and Ryder poured their strength into the barrier of light that Rachel had conjured, reinforcing it as we prepared for his assault. As the black wolf lunged toward me, time seeme

Luke pov As the shadows slowly began to release their grip on me, an instinctive anger ignited within, burning hotter than the darkest depths of the void that had threatened to swallow me whole. Our shared bond pulsed like a heartbeat, commanding me to fight back.“You think you can break free?” the black wolf taunted, his voice echoing through the night like thunder. “This realm belongs to the darkness now!”Ignoring his bravado, I focused on the shared energy radiating from my packmates. Each heartbeat was a reminder of what we stood to lose. We were more than just a collection of wolves—we were a family woven together by our struggles, victories, and unbreakable bonds. “Together!” I shouted, pulling every ounce of strength from my soul and feeling the power surge to the surface. “We won’t give in!”

As we pulled away from the embrace, I felt the weight of our previous argument still hanging in the air. I could see that a cautious acceptance was slowly replacing my mother's worry, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something more sinister was lurking beyond our immediate concerns. We gathered the rest of the pack for an emergency meeting, each member looking apprehensive. The day's events had spread like wildfire, and now everyone was on edge. I stood before them, clearing my throat to capture their attention.“I know today was a close call,” I began, my voice steady despite the adrenaline rush still coursing through me. “But we are stronger than we realise. The rogues won’t just back off easily. They will come again, and when they do, we need to be prepared.”Ryder stepped forward, his eyes flashing with intensity. “I suggest we step up patrols immediately. We’ve already started gathering everyone for a watch rotation. We can’t let them have the upper hand.” The pack murmured

Luke’s POV As we stood there, the rogues slowly backing away, Carrie's voice echoed through the cave. I could sense her power building, knowing she was getting angry. Her eyes were blazing with fierce determination, and I could see the wolves within her starting to stir."You're not taking anyone else from my pack," she growled, her voice low and menacing.Ryder, still in his wolf form, let out a snarl, and I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. The two remaining rogues took another step back, their eyes darting between us.I took a step forward, my power growing in response to Carrie's. "You're not going to hurt anyone else," I said, my voice firm. The rogues hesitated for a moment, then turned and ran. We let them go, knowing that they wouldn't be able to escape for long. We had won this battle, but we knew that there would be more to come.I glanced over at Ryder, who was still in his wolf form. He was panting heavily, his eyes still burning with anger. I coul

Luke’s pov We returned to the pack, exhausted but determined. Our parents were already there, discussing the situation with the other pack members. "I think we should split our pack into smaller groups and patrol the surrounding areas," my father suggested. "We need to catch these rogues off guard and take them down before they can do any more harm." I nodded in agreement. "I think that's a good idea, father. But we also need to come up with a plan to protect Carrie. She's the key to this whole thing." Carrie looked up at me, her eyes still flashing with anger. "I don't need protection," she growled. "I can take care of myself." But I knew that wasn't true. The rogues were too strong, too cunning. She needed our help to stay safe. Even if she was powerful and able to beat anyone down. We still needed to protect her as she got used to her powers and understood them better. Ryder suddenly stepped forward. "I'll stay with her," he said. "We'll keep her safe, no matter wha

Luke’s POV “Rachel, go fetch my parents,” I yelled as she ran to alert my pack. Carrie and Ryder remained with me. I wouldn't let anything happen to her, and as the future alpha, I had to stand my ground. “What do you want from this pack? Why don't you leave and never return? You're not welcome here.” I growled as the prominent rogue leader finally stood before us. He eyed me curiously before a cunning smirk formed on his face. “You came to the city. Your sister came after you. She was nice enough to leave her portal open so we could return here. What we want is behind you.” he answered gruffly. I glanced to my side and realised that he was referring to Carrie. He wanted Carrie. All this was about my sister. “We have been searching for her for many years now. You see, she isn't like any of you. She isn't one of you.” he explained, and I felt my sister tremble with confusion behind me. “You're not taking her anywhere. What was his story? And what did he have to do with my sister? My mother's words echoed in my mind - "stop her". But I knew it was too late. Carrie was determined to follow her heart, regardless of anyone else's thoughts. And as much as I wanted to protect her, I knew that trying to stop her would only push her further away.I turned back to my parents, who stared at me with worry and despair. My father's expression was etched with concern, while my mother's face was wet with tears."Luke, please," she said, her voice shaking. "You have to talk to her. Carrie’s POV I could feel the weight of my parents' disapproval bearing down on me as we walked away from them. I knew they would never understand me, never accept Ryder as my mate. But I didn't care. I was done being controlled, done being told what to do and who to be with. Ryder squeezed my hand, his grip tight and reassuring. "We'll figure it out," he said, his voice low and steady. "We'll find a way to stop the rogue wolves and ensure you're safe." I nodded, feeling a sense of determination wash over me. We would do it, no matter what my parents said or did. We would find a way to make this work. As we walked, the trees seemed to grow taller and darker around us, casting long shadows across the forest floor. I could feel the moon rising above us, its light casting an otherworldly glow over everything. "Where are we going?" Ryder asked, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "I don't know," I admitted. "I just know I can't go back there. Not now." Ryd

Carrie’s POV “Please give me a moment with my daughter.” my mother said, dragging me away from Ryder and prying eyes.“You cannot accept him as your mate, Carrie.” she insisted, and I felt my blood boil through my veins. Was she being serious? The moon goddess had paired me with Ryder for a reason! How could she expect me to ignore that? I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down, but my mind was racing with thoughts of Ryder and the danger he was in. I knew my parents were trying to protect me, but I couldn't shake the feeling that they didn't understand.“Carrie, your mother is correct. We don't know him at all. He could be anyone.” my father agreed with my mother. Not that I could expect anything different since they never disagreed over anything. "MOTHER, FATHER! Please," I said, trying to reason with them. "Ryder is trying to help us. He's willing to put his life on the line to protect us. He knows what he is talking about. Why won't you give him a chance?
