Chapter 14

"Where are you going all dressed up?" Lowell asked as he walked into the room.

I was standing in front of the mirror fluffing my hair up.

"I'm not even dressed up, babe." I was wearing black jeans, a grey tank, and a black jacket.

"You're wearing make-up." He pointed out.

"Yeah, I'm going out with Selene. But it's nothing major, just a little get-together."

He nodded but I could see the suspicion in his eyes.

I turned to him, "What is it? You don't look too happy about this."

"I'm not," he leaned against the door frame, "It feels like we barely spend any time together these days. I miss us, you know?"

I sighed and went over to rest my hands on his shoulders, "I know what you mean. I could stay home with you tonight?"

He shook his head, "No, I have to go in to work. Maybe we can do something this weekend? We need to spend more time together."

"I'd like that," I said with a smile.

He kissed me softly on my cheek, "Have fun tonight. But be careful."

I nodded before walking out.
