The hospital finally released me and I sat in the passenger seat of Lowell's car.

"Are you going to speak to me, or are you still giving me the silent treatment?"

Lowell hadn't said much since picking me up.

"I don't know what to say, Mila. You could have been killed."

I sighed, "I know. It was stupid and I don't know what came over me, but I had this pull, like an urge fuelling me. It's been happening a lot lately, actually. I get these urges to do things I know I shouldn't do."

Lowell frowned, "So you're saying that you're being pulled towards things?"

"Yes. That's exactly it. I don't understand it. Selene suggested that maybe it has something to do with the moon."

"I've never heard of that before. I know the mate bond has that pull, but I've never heard of it being for anything else. Do you feel it toward me?"

I looked out the window, "No." I had to be honest with him, but I knew I couldn't quite bring myself to tell him I felt it toward Lobo either.
