CHAPTER 72

Diego

Serene is so unbelievable that it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to resist her. I am not sure what is wrong with me, but every time I look at her, I start wishing things had not turned out the way they did between us, or rather that I had not behaved like an ass. I am now dealing with a new reality: another man has come into her life. No! There is no way I would let my son call someone else 'Dad'. I need to act quickly. I was still thinking when I noticed the lift close directly in front of me. “No!” I said, wishing I had walked out on time.

It opened, and I found myself on the top floor again. A woman walked in with files in her hands, and I recognized her as Rina Serene's PA. "I thought you were gone, Mr. Myers," she said, smiling.

"That is correct, but I had something else to do before I left," I replied.

"Oh, I see; have fun then," she said as she was about to walk out of the lift, but I interrupted her with a question.

"May I have some coffee with you

CHAPTER 73Diego I felt my hands tighten into fists, and my chest burned with rage as I remembered that Serene had told me the flowers were from her boyfriend. So, all along, my uncle had been the man she was talking about. I know he doesn't love her; whatever he is doing is to gain access to her wealth and steal as much as he can from her, as he did with his wife until she vanished with no trace to date. We all suspected he was behind her sudden disappearance, but we could not gather enough evidence to fight him. I will not allow Serene to suffer the same fate. I went to my room and quickly changed to take a shower while Grace ironed the clothes I requested. When I finished, I walked out and saw Sonia in a bikini. "Hello, sweetheart," she said, walking towards me."What exactly are you doing here?" I asked in a serious tone."What is the meaning of this? I am with my boyfriend, so what is the problem?" she asked."Do not dodge the question, Sonia; what are you doing here?" I repeate

I immediately called Grace, who came to open the door for me. Sonia was so disappointed that she almost scolded Grace, but I intervened quickly. Just as I was about to go downstairs, I ran into my uncle. "Diego, where are you going right now?" he inquired, his curiosity evident.'What should I say now?' I asked myself while I was still thinking up my cock and bull story."Nowhere important, just taking some files to the airport," I lied and dashed out.I walked out and got into my car; I knew my uncle would be following me, so I drove to the airport and asked my cab driver to wait for me at the back door. I walked in and quickly changed into the clothes I had purchased before instructing the professional actor I hired to simply keep driving my car around and distracting the person stalking me. I

I am not saying she should give him a chance or anything. I am just glad that child is with its father; you know what it is like to be without a father's love," Neina told Charlotte, while I laughed at them."Look, Serene, if I were you, I would hold that... I don't even know what to call him," Charlotte said, causing us all to laugh."Okay, ladies, when should I expect your visit?" I asked."So

CHAPTER 76Serene I hope Diego did not take my last statement seriously; I just had to change the sentence because Miguel had woken up. There is no way I would let my son hear what we were talking about, let alone learn how much I dislike his father. "Sweetie, we are here," I said, walking towards his bed with Diego."Hey Champ, are you okay?" Diego inquired, running his hands through Miguel's hair."Uhuh, I… I just had a nightmare," he said."Oh, we are so sorry; trust me, that will not happen again; we will sleep right here next to you," Diego said, while I gave him a fierce look that Miguel did not notice.“No, you can go while I—”“Mommy, where's Daddy going?” Miguel cut me off, and I quickly realized I was about to hint at something bad."To the kitchen for some milk, sweetie, but what are you thinking?" I replied softly, pulling his cheeks as Diego walked downstairs.“Can I switch on your TV?” I inquired as I was looking for a way to prevent Diego from leaving, as he had picked

My heart was so broken after she made it clear that she was not interested in me; I could not believe she admitted that she could not stand me. Opportunity only comes once in a lifetime; the woman I once treated as trash is about to become my bloody uncle's treasure, right in front of my eyes. No! As soon as my son fell asleep, I had to get home. I arrived home and discovered that it was already 4 a.m. So all I had to do was rest for two hours before heading to work, so I got busy.I entered my room and quickly locked the door because I did not want any surprises, especially from Sonia, who was struggling to accept that what had happened to us could no longer continue. That was back when I was a jerk, but now I have learned my lesson. I took off my clothes and went to take a cold shower before bed. As I fell deeper into my sleep, I began

After everyone had finished their studies, we stayed in the same city for a while before moving on to our respective professions. I did not have to go anywhere except to decide where I wanted my father's empire to expand. I would have let my father and his brother run the same company, but I am glad my mother made it clear that I was the only one who would inherit all of her wealth, and Dad had to go with what she wanted even though he was wealthier. So, since everything happened so quickly, I have not heard from Sofia in years, except for rumors about her appearance on a reality show."How about we go on a date,

He questioned, and I could not believe he figured it out so quickly."No, sweetie, who told you that your daddy lies down right—" I looked at the side of the bed I was going to point to, and it did not even appear that anyone had slept there. Miguel chuckled and ran away after telling me Diego was in his bedroom. What is he doing there, given the text I sent him yesterday, and who permitted the guards to let him in? I didn't even have time for those responses, so I dashed out after Miguel into his room. Diego quickly stood on his feet, terrified. Well, it is not the kind of fright that intimidates you; it is just that one of me is probably going to get him

You're acting strange lately, are you OK?” she asked."Yes, but I have been thinking about something, and you do not have to agree if you are not ready," I answered when she asked for my opinion."After everything you have been through, I was thinking about you going to therapy." We have not seen situations where women give birth two months earlier to healthy kids like these," the doctor stated as he strolled in, taking notes and looking at my girls while I smiled.Just as I thought stillness would reign, two small screams filled the room, and Rina whispered gently."They’re perfect," she whispered.Wow. Perfection is something I never expected to find again after all the relationships I had broken and the loved ones I lost. I knew things might either go well or poorly, despite Kyrell's protests. The address she provided me was an abandoned warehouse outside of London where many criminals would hide from the police. It had rusty timbers and smashed window frames, and the stench of unclean water and rot permeated the air, indicating that many secrets and dead were likely buried inside. My footfall reverberated as I walked with one hand on top of my bump.
