Chapter 5: Jealousy Begins

last update Last Updated: 2022-07-08 05:09:21

Just about then, Courtney came out of the ward accompanied by the nurses who worked on her.

“Her wounds have all been cleaned and some medicines have been prescribed to help her recover quickly” one of the nurses told us.

“Thank you very much” Henry replied standing to his feet. I hope you feel better now too he asked me and I nodded.

Courtney’s facial expressions immediately changed as she stepped out of the ward and saw Henry giving me a foot massage.

Her face became so gloomy and I could also sense some jealousy in how she looked at me.

“Do you feel any better now poo?” I asked her and she reluctantly answered with a “Yes I do.”

We walked to the pharmacy where Henry offered to buy the medicines that were prescribed for Courtney.

When he finished, we walked out of the hospital and he asked to help take us home.

I realized Courtney was very mute and would not say a word, so I decided to bring up a conversation on how our day went.

She was still reluctant to say anything until Henry and I started discussing and talking about the difficulties she and I faced on our way up then, she joined us.

He also mentioned that he had climbed up the hill before and that even though he went there alone, he actually enjoyed every part of it.

We soon approached my our house where he had to drop me off and continue over to Courtney’s and drop her too.

I couldn’t believe we had reached our home so soon and I was a little worried and not so cheerful because all I had in mind was to spend more time with Henry.

He didn’t exactly know where we lived so I pointed out to our bungalow when we approached it.

For some reason, he wasn’t very happy either and I could see how cold he became when I said I was alighting.

He asked if Courtney and I lived together but she quickly declined and told him she lived a little farther.

He suggested that I accompany him to Courtney’s place so he drops her off first. I was amazed and of course accepted.

Courtney wasn’t so happy with the decision and tried to stop him from continuing with me but he insisted.

It was just a few miles from where I lived to where Courtney lived but I could sense the anger and jealousy in her not wanting me to have accompanied them.

Few minutes after, we arrived their house and she silently stepped out of the car without uttering a word to anyone.

Henry noticed a change in her mood and asked if all was okay and she said Yes. She waved him a goodbye and thank him for taking her home, but didn’t say a word to me.

Henry reversed his car and headed to my place.

We continued talking and laughing until we got to our house where he stopped the car.

I also thanked him immensely for helping us out and taking us to the hospital and finally to our homes.

He smiled all through and it made me blush even more. I reluctantly stepped out of the car and was about to leave when he ran out and came close to me.

He held my hands, looked at me for a while but didn’t say a word. Then he grabbed me on my hair from both sides and kissed me on the forehead.

For a while, I let my mind process all that and even though it was not exactly a big deal, everything about Henry was big to me.

I stood there blushing while he hopped into his vehicle and drove off. I was so happy and walked into the house all smiley and happy.

This feeling was so different. Each time I threw back at all that had happened within that day, I felt a warm sensation on my entire body.

It felt strange to me that despite all that transpired, never even asked to get my phone number and I also did not ask him because I didn’t want to make it too obvious to him that I really liked him a lot.

I went to bed that night all consumed by the thoughts of this guy. I remembered how he put my feet on him and gave me a foot massage, how he insisted that I see him off to Courtney’s and how he kissed me on the forehead.

I even forgot about my sore feet and also didn’t bother too much about Courtney’s Injured body.

I slept off deep in thoughts about Henry and at this point was convinced that I really loved him and really wanted him by me beyond all odds.
