Lyra POV

My entire body ached as Lucian dragged me down the hallway, his grip relentless and his pace unyielding. Pain shot through my joints with every step, and I couldn’t keep the desperation out of my voice.

“Please, my legs aches,” I cried, struggling to keep up. “I can’t walk any further.”

Lucian didn’t slow down, didn’t even glance back. His face was a mask of anger, and he seemed immune to my pleas. As we continued down the hallway, Bethany came out from a nearby room, a broom in hand. She must have heard me crying, because she quickly abandoned her cleaning and rushed toward us.

“Mr. Dom, I’ll take care of her,” she mumbled, her voice trembling but Lucian didn't stop he continued walking. “She’s injured. She needs to be taken care of.” Her voice grew louder, echoing off the walls, making Lucian stop dead in his tracks. He turned slowly, pinning her with a dark, furious glare.

“This is none of your business, Bethany. Go back,” he growled.

“But sir—” Bethany protested.

Varg POVWhat the hell?I groaned, clenching my fists, trying to suppress the strange sensation coursing through me. Her eyes, gleaming in my mind, refused to leave me alone, the way she looked at me, the scent of lavender that lingered in my thoughts. It wasn’t real, but it felt so tangible, as if she were standing right beside me.“Not now,” I growled under my breath. “What the fuck is wrong with you, Alias?” My wolf had been silent, almost invisible for so long. But now, ever since she stepped into my life, declaring that one damning word—mate—he wouldn’t shut up. The distraction was unbearable, clouding my focus.“Let the game begin!”The voices of the two brunettes echoed as they stepped forward, holding up the signboard. They smiled, their presence signaling the start of the match. • Her Chosen Mate   10. Taking Care Of The Girl

Varg POV I walked through the woods, carrying her limp form in my arms as I made my way to the car. My mind churned with fragmented thoughts, trying to piece together what little I knew about her. The memory of her first night in my room replayed in my mind. After dropping the word "mate," she’d said something about me saving her.At the time, I didn’t take it seriously. But now...now it gnawed at me.The anger I’d felt earlier from losing my fight had been replaced by something far more complicated: guilt. Was she in danger? If so, what kind? I glanced down at her pale face as she lay still in my arms. For the first time, I noticed how strikingly beautiful she was.Ever since my ex left, I hadn’t spared a thought for anyone else. She’d called me selfish, uninterested in anything but my own priorities. Back then, I didn’t care. I’d convinced myself that as long as I kept out of others' business, they’d stay out of mine. But Lyra had somehow wormed her way past that wall. Her eyes rem

Lyra POVMy eyes snapped open, my gaze fluttering on the dark brown ceiling. My head ached so much, almost as if, if I stood up from the bed, my brain would fall out of my head.It hurt, but what hurt more was the memory of me following Lucian’s orders again. It dawned on me—the pain of watching the aftermath of killing one of my own. This wasn’t like the first time I had killed someone from the Moon Pack; this was totally different.Lucian had given me a specific description of who he wanted dead, but unfortunately, that one person he wanted me to kill was the same person who had joined the rest of the pack wolves to call me a curse. The moment I pushed open the door to her apartment and saw her sitting on the couch reading a plus-size novel, her eyes widened in horror, and she immediately started cursing me.Though I could sense her fear, she was scared. But I wouldn’t blame her; after all, she said and did everything to ensure I was rejected. Seeing me in her apartment only meant o

  • Her Chosen Mate   12. Fighting For Her

Varg POVIt all made sense now—the reason Lucian kept that girl here, why she was always coming to me, and why she was so weak the day I found her in the woods. She’s from the Moon Pack, which only means one thing: my brother has been using her for something. And I hate to think it’s for revenge. Over the years, Lucian’s plans have always revolved around vengeance, killing the Alpha of the Moon Pack to avenge our parents’ deaths. I warned him repeatedly not to try anything reckless, told him I wouldn’t be able to protect him if he went down that path. But he never listened. Now, anger coursed through me in a way I hadn’t felt in years.I stormed down the hallway toward his room. The moment I shoved the door open, I saw him lounging on the bed, indulging in his usual shitty moments with Mira, a blonde-haired Omega from our pack who had been his go-to call girl for as long as I could remember. The girl had his cock in her mouth, and even as she noticed my presence, she didn’t stop sucki

  • Her Chosen Mate   13. Little Truth

Lyra POV “You’re from the Moon Pack?” The question hung in her throat, coming out more like a squeak. Her eyes widened in shock as she took a cautious step away from me. “How's that even possible?”I paused, staring at her as she battled with her thoughts and words. It became so obvious that there was more to the fact that I was from the Moon Pack than I’d thought, but I couldn’t get why the pack had such a reaction on them. She looked at me, fear in her eyes, lost in her own thoughts as if she was recollecting to a past memory. It was certain that she knew something I didn’t, but what could it be that created such a fearful atmosphere around her? I’d only heard a few stories about the Moon Pack and the rest of what I experienced while growing up. Over the years, the Moon Pack had been one of the reasons for discussion. We’re seen as untouchable and also the strongest among the packs. My mother, the Alpha, had commanded both respect and fear, which led to any attack on our pack endin

Varg PovI pushed open the door and walked into my room, feeling more satisfied than I had in a long time. The rematch with Matthew had been one of the toughest fights I’d had in years. The guy was my equal in strength and tactics, pushing me to the edge of my limits. But in the end, I managed to knock him off his feet and claim victory.I flexed my sore muscles as I peeled off the damp jacket soaked in sweat and tossed it into the dirty clothes hamper. The faint, unpleasant scent of sweat and Matthew’s blood lingered around me, a reminder of how brutal the fight had been. Why did I think going to Varg's room to talk to him, to finally tell him everything about Lucian and what had happened to my mom, was a good idea? The sheets were slightly rumpled, the lingering warmth from his body fading away.Frowning, I pushed myself up from the bed, stretching slightly before making my way toward the window. • Her Chosen Mate   73. Welcome Back

Lyra’s POVThe cold night air brushed against my skin as I stood across from the Dom mansion, staring at the towering structure that loomed before me. The scent of pine, damp earth, and something deeply familiar drifted through the air, stirring memories I wasn’t sure I was ready to face.Years ago, I had wanted nothing more than to escape this place, to run as far away as my legs could take me. But now, standing here with my children in my arms, it felt different. This place, once my prison, had become my solace. The walls I once despised now offered safety. Protection. A home for my pups.A warm hand settled on my shoulder, grounding me.“You’ll be fine. Trust me,” Varg murmured, his breath warm against my ear. “I’m here. And I’m never leaving your side.”I lowered my gaze to the two babies nestled in my arms, then to the one he held. The baby’s red eyes, so much like mine, locked onto me, filled with warmth instead of fear.“Daddy’s here,” I whispered, pulling him closer.A soft coo replaced the sobs, followed by a tiny, breathy chuckle. A smile tugged at my lips as I brushed a finger over his nose before pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead.“You look just like me,” I mused. “I hope you’re strong too.”Lyra’s voice broke throug

Pulling my hair into a tight bun, I made my way to the bathroom to splash water on my face. The day felt crisp, and I decided I’d take my pups out for a stroll. It had been weeks since we’d last stepped outside, and they deserved to experience the daylight and fresh air.But as I wiped my face with a towel, a faint sound caught my attention. My heart stilled. A cold shiver crawled down my spine.“I’ve waited long enough for your response,” a familiar voice said, low and menacing. “But as always, you’ve failed to get back to me. Varg's POV“Marcus said he saw a lady with crying baby walk into the woods a few days ago,” Lucian said, his voice breaking the silence as we trekked through the woods, accompanied by Jacob and a few of Lucian’s Betas. “I think she’s the one they saw.”I didn’t immediately react to Lucian’s words. My mind wasn’t focused on what he was saying. Everything he’d mentioned since offering to help me had felt more like a shot in the dark. And who in the hell would believe someone like Marcus Blood Moon? The guy’s a loner who fled his pack years ago and now lives in the woods with his concubine, who, by the way, was mated to another man.The guy was insane, but I couldn’t entirely fault Lucian for trusting him. He had this odd habit of taking in whatever came his way.“That’s not enough reason to be out here wandering aimlessly,” Jacob chimed in, voicing exactly what I was thinking as he stepped up to walk alongside us.“We don’t know, but we have to try,” Lucian replied.I stayed quiet, my m
