A beautiful and modern chandelier hangs above the white ceiling. The huge living room was four stairs lower than the medium dining area at the left corner of the room which has a long table with almost eight chairs surrounding it. The glass windows at the side were covered with white curtains. Long couches and a brilliant sofa sit right next to the window, with a huge modern television hanging against the wall. I was expecting to see at least someone at the table and there was only one plate. “ Alpha Cronus is out of the pack and won't be back until tomorrow,” Zoe says as she walks over to the table with a bowl. I furrowed a brow as I wondered why the name sounded familiar. “ Have a seat, I'm sure you will love what I made.” She says with a warm smile but I don't move a step. My hand kept squeezing the edge of my dress as I stared at the single plate on the table with tears swaying in my eyes. I have never had a meal alone. I always ate with my father. “ Are you okay?” Through my tear-filled eyes, I see Zoe approaching me with worried eyes. “ I understand how you feel.” She said, and without a word, I hugged her tightly, and a sobbing broke out of my lips. Zoe doesn't stop me or say a word. I cry in her arms and after what seems like forever, she leads me to sit. “ I won't stop you from crying.” I see the sadness in her eyes as she speaks. “ You know?” I lowered my head as tears streamed down from my eyes. How did my life turn this way? I only wanted a birthday and a good life afterward. “ You haven't had any meal for the past five days, your father will want you to be happy.” I lifted my wet face to look at Zoe and she wasn't wrong. He might be strict and act all tough but he was the best father. “ You have to pick up your pieces and make your father proud.” She added and the scene of his bloody hand holding mine flashed in my head. Why did he have to die? “ I understand you but you have to grow up and be a woman. Live on, take your life into your hands, and let go of the grief in your heart.” Zoe squeezed my hand slightly before standing on her feet. I watched her walk back into the brown door at the side which I assumed was the kitchen. I tried to eat something but I couldn't swallow more than five spoons. I spend the rest of the night crying myself to sleep just like the previous days. Waking up the next day, I walked over to the window and pushed the white curtains open to let the early morning sunlight trash into the room. I shut my eyes, feeling the cold air crease my face and my hair swaying behind my head. I stepped into the little balcony and spread my hands at my sides as the cold air washed over me. My eyes ran around; the central pack was the largest in the world, and what I was seeing resonated with the rumor. Their forest land alone was larger than my father's entire pack. Zoe was right, crying and starving myself wasn't what my father would want. I let out a sigh, and suddenly, a shining black car halted in front of the house, and a man stepped down from the driver's side. He then rushed to the back and pulled the door open; a man with long white devilish hair stepped down in black leather pants, a brown t-shirt, and a black leather jacket. His face suddenly stared up in my direction as if he sensed my presence, and I felt goosebumps rise on my skin. My throat felt dry in an instant, and a chill crawled down my bones, as I felt my skin burning from his intense gaze. The clicking of the door drew my attention, and I turned back.” I'm glad you are doing great.” Zoe dropped the bag in her hand on the bed. “ Alpha Cronus doesn't wait for anyone. Breakfast will be ready in a few minutes.” I frowned, and she turned and left. I didn't know what to expect or how to live but I would try. My father would want me to be happy, I thought as I tried to not break down. He was my father and he gave me everything aside from the freedom I always desired. He may have made my life a bit different from the rest of the pups but I knew deep down he cared. My father wouldn't let me out of his sight nor go anywhere without a warrior following me, but I knew he loved me more; I was his entire world. When I was young, I used to be like every pup out there. I would go out and play with other pups without my father worrying about me, but that was until the last rogue attack. My father forbade me from walking around the pack alone, which I thought was connected to the rogues, but after the rogues were chased out of the region, he was still reluctant about me leaving the pack or walking around the pack by myself. I thought his love and care were choking, but now I missed him and couldn't bring myself to believe he was gone for good. I stopped the shower and walked out to get the white towel hanging on the door. I put on the dress Zoe dropped in the room. It was a v-neck white straight dress that went all the way down to my knee. It has a petty sleeve and a button up front. With my long black hair hanging behind my head, I walk out of the room through the door. My steps halted when I found myself staring into strange forestry green eyes. My heart stopped in my chest for a while before it started to beat again; my feet felt heavy, and my gaze felt glued to his. They were as green as a tropical forest yet dark as the jungle. He was no doubt the devilish white-haired man I saw from the balcony earlier. I didn't realize how long I had been staring at him, but I regained my composure when Zoe walked over with a glass of milk. Why was I suddenly nervous? Was he the infamous alpha Cronus?{ Grace } The sudden ring of his cell phone broke the stillness in the room and his gaze slowly pulled away from me. “ I will be there.” His voice was cold, deep, and filled with authority. Anyone would sense the power that radiate from him. Our eyes met once again as he pulled out of his seat and started towards the huge black door, his broad back disappearing at every step he took. I bit on my bottom lip but not painful enough to make me wince. “ Come and eat before your food gets cold.” Zoe's gentle voice pulled me out of my thoughts. With a warm smile on her face, I hesitatingly strode over to the long table and took a seat.“ I'm glad you finally decided to eat something.” I picked the fork and the knife at each side of the plate.” I hope you enjoy your breakfast, call me if you need anything.” She packed his plate and was about to leave when I spoke. “ Grace.” “ You have such a beautiful name.” her gentle gaze lingered on me for a few seconds before, she disap
{ Grace }With my bare feet touching the cold ground of the forest land, a chill ran up my spine. The misty smell of rotten leaves and after rain filled my nostrils. With the dark space of the forest, I could feel my heart pounding violently and my every step resounded in the dim forest. The rattling sound of animals could be heard, the cold wind rushing through my hair and swaying it back and forth. The sound of dry leaves crushing under my feet each time my feet collide with the cold ground. I didn't know how long I had been running, but the forest seemed bigger than I anticipated. I could see the unending darkness ahead, but my feet were already given up as I could feel immense pain under my feet.A low growl resounded in the eerie forest, piquing a newfound fear in me, but I didn't stop running. I wanted nothing more than to get out of the territory of the man who hated my father so much that he couldn't stand hearing anything about him.And as much as I hated to admit it, he ha
{Grace}I had the perfect imagination for my birthday. My dress was bought a week before and since it was my eighteenth birthday, I couldn't wait to meet my fated mate, that was if he would be among the guests. My father had his beta take care of the guest list while the rest of the preparation was personally taken care of by my father, alpha Moses from the star pack.I was just as excited as every girl in my shoes would; turning eighteen meant a lot of things, which included shifting for the first time. My excitement remained intact as I patiently waited for the day. I would open my closet and look at my beautiful blue gown, which was adorned with silver and pieces of crystals every night, before climbing to bed.The excitement grew with each passing day. The more the time approached the more eager I got until the day finally arrived.I lost my mother at a tender age so I only had my father to dote and care for me.My only regret was that night and I wish I could turn back the hands
