I had the perfect imagination for my birthday. My dress was bought a week before, and since it was my eighteenth birthday, I couldn't wait to meet my fated mate, if he would be among the guests.

My father had his beta take care of the guest list while the rest of the preparation was personally taken care of by my father, Alpha Moses from the star pack.

I was just as excited as every girl in my shoes would be; turning eighteen meant a lot of things, which included shifting for the first time.

My excitement remained intact as I patiently waited. I would open my closet and look at my beautiful blue gown, which was adorned with silver and pieces of crystals every night, before climbing into bed.

The excitement grew with each passing day. The more the time approached the more eager I got until the day finally arrived.

I lost my mother at a tender age, so I only had my father to dote on and care for me.

My only regret was that night and I wish I could turn back the hands of time. I wish that night had never existed.

Everyone was happy until the attack happened.

Everyone was enjoying the big party, including me, but that didn't last.

Everyone at the party died including my father.

Star pack was wiped off the face of the earth the night I turned eighteen, and my father went along with it, leaving me alone in this world.

And I wished I had never celebrated my birthday; maybe he would still be alive, and perhaps the pack would still be standing. With his blood-stained hands holding mine, I cried and begged him to stay with me; I promised him I would do anything he wanted me to do, but it was too late to make promises.

I didn't have anywhere to go and I didn't plan to leave my father and the rest of the pack members who died during my birthday celebration.

I wanted to stay with my father, I wanted to be with him and never leave his side. I didn't want to believe he was gone and I was alone.

I watched strange men from nowhere gather all the bodies in one place and set them on fire.

I felt immense pain in my chest, seeing my father's body burning in flames; I suddenly couldn't hold it together anymore and lost consciousness; darkness consumed me entirely…….

Approaching footsteps!!

That was the last thing I heard before being surrounded by darkness.

When I opened my eyes again, I was in a completely strange room…….

It was spacious, warm, and luxurious. The only thing present in it was the huge soft bed I was lying on.

I wondered where I was and how I got here but the incident of my birthday drowned me, and I realized my clothes had been changed.

My eyes immediately became moist with hot tears as I hoped it was just a bad dream.

I curled myself on the bed with my eyes shut, hoping everything wasn't rare. realizing myself and shaking on the bed until I heard the door push open and a middle-aged woman walked in.” Hi, I'm Zoe.” She paused right before the door as if she sensed my discomfort.

“ I'm here to help you get ready for breakfast.” She said and I shook my head as I stared around the room one more time.

“ Where am I?” I tried collecting my memories but the last thing I recalled was fainting before the huge flame.

“ This is the central pack.” She explained.

Central pack was the largest pack in the world and as much as I wished I had more information about it, I didn't.

“ How long have I been here?” I was curious,“ three days,” she answered politely, and I bit my bottom lip; it had been three days since my father died.

“ The alpha is waiting for you at the dining table.” She added, and I stared up at her with a confused gaze, but reality soon drowned me, and I understood what she meant by alpha.

It wasn't my father.

“ I'm not hungry.”

My life just turned upside down in just a day. I woke up three days after my birthday, and I was alone in an abstracting room in an unknown pack.

What I imagined to be a nightmare turned out to be real.

I was alone and my father was gone.

“ It has been three days, and you need to eat something.” she tried to convince me, but I lay back on the bed, turning my back to her.

My life and everything I knew were gone, including my father.

At this moment, I wish I had perished together with everyone else. I wish I had died alongside my father. Maybe I would be this sad and lonely...

Tears drained from my face, wetting the white sheet on the bed.

In the spacious, quiet room, I could hear my sob echoing through the four walls as I curled myself on the bed.

I didn't move a muscle and just stayed on the bed crying myself to nothing.

Zoe returned after sometimes asking me what I wanted to eat for lunch, but I only said the same words: I wasn't hungry, and I was glad she didn't insist.

I didn't know how much time had passed, but I didn't have the strength or the appetite to eat anything.

The only thing I wanted at the moment was my father, I wanted to see and hang him so bad.

I have missed him and the thought of not seeing him again makes my heart clench in my chest. He was everything I had, the only parent I had growing up.

How was I going to cope without him? How was I supposed to continue living?

Uncontrollable tears poured from my eyes as I clung to the white bedspread.

Zoe kept coming back and I kept telling her the same thing.

How was I supposed to eat when my hands were stained with my father's blood?

My eyes flipped open when I heard the door push open.“ I'm not hungry.” I said the same words again, but this time, I didn't hear the door shut back.

“ You have been saying this for the past five days.” This time the voice that came wasn't the female voice that I was used to.” Dinner will be ready in a few minutes.” The command in the voice didn't skip me as I felt a sudden chill run down my spine.

The sound of the door shutting made me aware that whoever it was was no more in the room.
