Nathan’s POV.

I had left very early in search of the doctor but there was no positive outcome.

I decided to call her on her phone but no one was picking up.

What was going on I thought to myself. This was unlike her.

I tried several times but there was no response and I soon became worried.

Anytime lunaria was missing like this I knew something was definitely wrong. There was no way there was something right . Not after she had been kidnapped, has an accident and almost been killed a couple of times and now I was beginning to believe that there was someone targeting her.

I couldn’t tell if the targeting person was from my pack or hers but I needed to make sure she was safe.

I decided to go to the pack and check on her. Maybe something would turn up.

After all, if she wasn’t at the hospital then where would she be? And why was she not answering her phone?

With a frustrated look on my face, I decided to call a guard who answered immediately.

“Has lunaria shown up at the pack yet?” I ask

Lunaria’s POV.Sarah's words did nothing but to create a huge hole in my heart. Her words carried so much weight that the more I thought about it, the more disheveled I became and to make it even worse, I just couldn't take my mind off her.Even after her words, the thought of leaving had never crossed my mind and my love for Nathan didn't wean off.I loved Nathan and I doubt if I would be able to love someone the way I love him.If anything, I should have spoken to him first instead of dwelling on all what Sarah had said. I believed he was really worried and wanted me to be around so he could protect me.Not knowing what he would say or what he had to say, I couldn't deny I was nervous and slightly tense. He only mentioned he wanted me back but didn't kick you out,” I let out, getting angry at him.“I know lunaria but it's not as easy as you think. He might want to use that to separate us. Maybe he didn't want you to see me again that's why he is saying that,” Nathan replied unconvinced.“So what did you want him to say after such rumors? He should congratulate you that your pack did good publicity for his daughter. Will you be happy to hear such rumors about your daughter if you are in his shoes?” I yelled at him.“I am sorry lunaria, it is not what you think. Are you angry? Lunaria's POV.Why did this have to happen now? Just when I thought I had found a way to balance my love for Nathan and my duty to my pack, fate snatched away the one person who had always supported me.“Why? Why did my father have to go now? Author’s POV.The Pack House was quiet, the only sounds to be heard were the barely audible mutterings from the elders and the spectators around. They had gathered in a corner of the sunroom, sitting in chairs arranged in a partial circle.Their faces were grave and etched with sadness. The previous Lycan King’s death had created an obvious void throughout not only their world, but now they also faced an important decision regarding what would happen next.It was important that they chose a new successor immediately or it would cause chaos and many outsiders would seek to invade the pack and take over it as they would feel they could handle the pack with no one’s help.Lunaria sat midway across the room with Nathan pressed against her side. She knew he was here providing her comfort, yet she couldn’t feel it like she normally should have been able to. To her other side sat her stepmother Agatha and Lillian her stepsister, both wore expressions of thinly veiled triumph. It was almost l

Author’s POV. Lunaria's hands trembled as Mendy helped her into the wedding attire and packed her hair in a bun. Just as Mendy stepped back to admire her handiwork, a soft knock at the door interrupted the moment. Mendy smiled and moved to answer it, she opened the door to find a young servant holding a small elegant envelope. "For the bride," the servant said, bowing slightly. “Thank you.” Came Mendy’s voice as she closed the door and walked over to Lunaria to hand her the envelope. Lunaria's heart skipped a beat as she took the envelope, her fingers tracing the seal. She recognized the symbol – Nathan's family crest. A gentle smile spread across her face as she opened the envelope and withdrew the letter inside. The poem, written in Nathan's own hand, spoke of his love for Lunaria, of the journey they had shared, and of the promises he made to her. It spoke of the moon goddess's blessing, of the love that had grown between them, and of the future they would build together. T

"You and she will be in charge of her."I nodded, looking at Lillian."Lillian, go bring me some food," I said. But Lillian's head remained bowed in shame. I repeated my request, but she didn't move.Slowly, she raised her head, her eyes filled with tears."I...I can't bear working under you as a slave," she said, her voice trembling.I was taken aback by her words. I hadn't thought about how she would feel, being forced to serve me after everything that had happened."Lillian, I..." I started to say, but she cut me off."I would rather not be alive at all than be a slave," she said, her voice firm. And with that, she grabbed a sharp object from the nearest shoulder and pierced herself.I screamed, shocked by her action. Mendy rushed to her side, trying to stop the bleeding."L

Author’s POV.After everyone had disappeared for the day, leaving me, the elders, my stepmother, and my sister. They marched onto the throne room to confront me but I stood tall, my voice firm as I addressed Agatha.“Was it Sarah that gave you the Heirloom?” Agatha asked me."No, Sarah did not betray us, Agatha. Anthony found the real heirloom and exchanged it with the fake one."Nathan's face was still twisted in rage when he walked in and saw Agatha interrogating me, but as I waved at him to indicate that I was okay, I could see the tension in his body begin to ease. I turned to him, placing a calming hand on his arm as he came to stand beside me."Nathan, it's okay. The truth is out now."I turned back to Agatha, my eyes narrowing."Since everything is clear now, I will decide the fate of all the offenders." I moved to the throne, my voice ringing out across the room."According to our law, Agatha, you would be killed for your crimes. And Lillian, you would be reduced to a maid."T

Author’s POV.Lunaria's anger boiled over, threatening to consume her. She took a step forward, her hands clenched into fists. It took everything within her not to shred Agatha into pieces. How could she be so wicked and callous, killing her own husband and trying to take the throne from her rightful place? Killing her mother wasn't enough, she had the guts to kill her own husband for her daughter and she was okay with it.Nathan stepped forward, placing a calming hand on Lunaria's shoulder."It's okay, Lunaria. It's going to be alright. I am here for you, it's going to be alright,” Nathan assured.Lunaria took a deep breath, trying to calm down. She knew that if she did anything against the law, her rulership might be withdrawn, and her father's wish would never come to pass. She had to keep her emotions in check, no matter how hard it was.Agatha's face paled as she realized she was doomed. Sarah's revelation had exposed her secrets, and she knew she had to think fast. But nothing did. She stood up, wondering if she had done something wrong, and sat down again.
