Seeing Liam on the bed with the babies pulled a certain string in my heart, a positive one of course. I rose from the bed and walked over the curtains to shut it, the sun rays were a bit too much and would disturb the babies. After pulling down the curtains, I turned back to the bed, only to see Victor awake and staring at me. My eyes met his, my legs were instantly wobbly at his intense gaze on me. The air was tense and a bit suffocating, so I cleared my throat. Liam blinked and looked away.

“Good morning,” he greeted.

I bobbed my head and turned away from him.

“I'm so sorry, I slept off last night. It was an honest mistake. I know I promised to keep my distance and you would possibly see me in a different light, but I can swear, if you want me to, that it was a mistake…”

“It's okay, I don't mind,” the words left my mouth before I could stop myself.

My utterance was followed by silence, Liam not knowing what to say and I, mentally berating myself.

“Do you need help getting
