Cyrus even told me that the best way to win against fear was to face fear itself.

"Then, let's put on a lovey-dovey performance in front of the village chief later," Martin suggested.

I hesitated when I thought about Cyrus. "We'll cross that bridge when the time comes."

I saw the village chief walking over to us then, so I quickly returned to my room.

That night, Yvette never came back. I sat on the bed while reading the comments that streaked across my eyes.

"Why did Yvette visit the chapel as well?"

"She must've seen Arabella trying to befriend the NPC. Is she trying to copy Arabella's tactic?"

"Didn't Yvette seduce Henry last time? She's planning to play both sides, huh?"

"A player can never compete against an NPC, after all. Look, she even took off her jacket!"

My mind went blank at that moment.
