9.The Big shot

Town B

Everyone in the room had their eyes glued to the presentation on the board, though most of them were tired already, they didn't show it. This meeting has been going on for four and half hours already and it seems like it wouldn't come to an end any soon.This boss was really very hard to please, all he was doing was criticizing the employees here, about this or that. Generally the room was tensed up.

Suddenly their was an interruption, as William's phone vibrated, since he was the personal assistant to the boss, he was the only one aside from the boss himself who could pick up a call during the meeting. The rest of the employees were not even allowed to attend the meeting with their phone.

"Excuse me," William excused himself from the room to pick up the call. Not long after he came back half running and whispered something to the boss's ear,seems like there was an emergency that required his attention.

"Meeting adjourned!" Derrick declared as he rose from his chair.

The employees sighed in relief, that phone had really saved them a big deal, they hadn't even taken their lunch yet comparing it was already half past two. Dragging their limps as their stomach growled in hunger, the walked to the cafeteria.

"Prepare the plane to Town Z immediately," Derrick said to William as they entered the elevator, not. like it was such a big deal anyway, after all he was the second richest man in country B after Kevin Burke, so this was just one call away and his personal jet is ready.

Three minutes ago

"Mr William, young master has been arrested, we have tried to negotiate with them but they just won't release him, "the voice on the other side of the phone spoke.

William knew to what extent the young master was important to their boss, other than being the only brother to the boss, he was the only family the boss had, after their parents had died when they were still kids, and since then the master had only attached all his affection to his brother and would always spoil him in every possible way he could that he had never even for once rejected him no matter how mischievous of a request he would make.

Just exactly thirty minutes, the plane was running on the runaways before it came to a stop. Putting on his black glasses, Derrick descended the stairs and headed directly to the car that was prepared already for him, and it really seemed like not many people knew of his arrival to the country, otherwise the paparazzi would have been everywhere waiting for him.

City centre police station.

"How do you expect me to talk to my lawyer if you won't have me make a call, Steve had been arguing with this officer for over ten minutes already that he thought this woman was really annoying," he felt like just killing her already.

"Sorry young man, I know your type already, you are the kind of this rich spoilt kid that think you can just do anything you want, I think it's high time that you know that nobody is above the law in this country," Stacy retaliated.

She really hates this kind of people, rich and ignorant. Surely how could one drive carelessly with such a speed without observing traffic rules in daytime, passing the red lights without even care, he might even have caused a fatal accident on the road, though still when she had checked the surveillance, she had to admit that he was such a great driver, but this wasn't the moment to praise his driving skills, was it?

"Why is there a commotion outside?" Stacy asked her colleagues, seems like something was happening outside that she wasn't aware of.

"I am not sure yet, but seems like there's a big shot outside, there are a lot of cars parked outside, I don't know who exactly he is, but I suppose it's more like a mafia lord based on the clothes they are on."

Stacy couldn't remember of being informed of any meeting with a big shot, but after all this was a police station, so visitors were bound to make a visitation any time.

"How about you excuse me first, Stacy tried to excuse Steve from the room," she wasn't yet done with questioning him, she would just attend to the unannounced visitors first and deal with him later.

Steve knew his brother must have heard about his arrest, and he knew only him could visit a police station with an escort of more than ten cars,he was that crazy about him, and though he was also rich, he, unlike his brother loved to keep low profile, and had even ventured on working as a cab driver during his part time.

Without a knock, William opened the door and ushered in Derrick, he remained standing on the door.

"Good afternoon sir, how may I help you?" Stacy said stretching her hand for a handshake.

Derrick ignored Stacy stretched hand, he just went and sat down beside Steve, without a word and crossed his legs.

Rude!

Stacy only had one question in her mind, what was the most feared mafia lord doing in a police station, this was really unheard of, and obviously he wouldn't be here to report a crime, would he? He obviously would deal with it on his on way.

"Big brother, you are here, I missed you so much, it's been so long since we saw each other," Steve snuggled close to Derrick hugging him from the side acting more spoilt than he already was.

Realization finally hit her, so she had arrested the big shot brother!

The two people in the room rolled their eyes, though each with a different reason.

William:Its just a week since they parted ways, how can that be so long!

Stacy:Old but still acting childishly, obviously very spoilt, a brat!

"Come on, you are already this big,stop acting childishly already,and it's just a week," Derrick grinned pinching his nose as he hugged him, earning another contemptuous look from Stacy who felt really disgusted with this two, obvious like elder brother like young brother, she thought to herself.

Looking at this two people seated,both looking very handsome,one a twenty four years old baby snuggling onto a twenty seven years old mature big brother, Bella felt their similarity, how dump of her not to see this earlier, though the first time she had had her eyes on Steve, she had a gut feeling that he really looked like someone she knew but she just couldn't place who.

Hearing his boss, William felt like laughing out, how ironical obviously it was his boss that always treated him as a child, how could he ask him to stop behaving as one when he had mentally made him one already.

After some few talks here and there, they finally came to a conclusion, and just as it had to be, Steve had to be set free, though on a bail, and in addition to that Derrick had to punish his brother for his mistake.

Obviously he won't!

Though this was the agreement, Stacy wasn't that very satisfied with it,she had just played along because she knew better than to mess with this big shots.She hated how this rich people could just get away with anything, acting like they owned the country.

Stacy knew Derrick very well and had even taken up a case that was investigating him of some illegal activities in the country such as human and arms trafficking.

Stacy just let them off the hook for today, there was a lot that she had to do that she swore to get this man behind bars, though she knew it wouldn't be that easy as such for no matter how hard she had always tried, she had never gotten anything linked to him, but still that wasn't an issue, she would deal with him properly whenever she would get the evidence, she would make him pay for everything.

"Everything that you have seen and heard should remain here, I get to hear any of it outside and I deal with you , mark my word," Derrick whispered to Stacy,his voice chilly as ice making her shiver unknowingly.

Derrick was not so used to showing this side to anybody, only his brother and his few friends like Kevin, though most of the time they were more of enemies than friend had seen him this way, he just didn't like to lose his cool before people, and so he retreated to threatening which had usually worked with him.

William sympathized with the young lady when he saw how pale her face had turned, she must have really been scared on the insides.

William opened the door for the two brother as he bowed before them, and just as they walked out, he closed the door behind him with a bang and followed the duo to the car.
