The Nightmare

In no time, they both fell asleep but not without Anna passing Caspian his pillows and putting one in between them.

In the dead of the night, the sound of Caspian’s groans caused Anna to force her eyes open. She hurriedly sat on the bed and stared at the man next to her, her eyes widening in panic at the sweat that broke out in his bare chest and the groans that he let out, plus the trembling of his entire body.

She quickly threw the pillow between them aside and moved over to his side. She held his shoulders and shook him severally.

“Caspian? Caspian.” She became sure that he was having a nightmare as Caspian didn’t respond to her call, instead, his groans grew louder and his breath faster.

She grabbed his shoulder and shook him faster. “Caspian, it’s just a nightmare, wake up.” Sweat broke out on her forehead in panic and her attempt to wake him up intensified.
