Anna’s head raised when she heard Caspian’s voice at the doorstep. He was making his way toward them. Immediately, she retreated backward away from the man who now had a smile on his face, his cocky smile replaced with a sweet and almost genuine-looking smile.

“Brother,” Ethan acknowledged as Caspian stormed toward them and grabbed Anna's waist, dragging her close to him. He glared daggers at his brother who faked the smile on his lips. “You’re here. I was just saying hi to your wife. I see why you’re head over heels for her. She’s pretty.”

Anna scoffed. Wasn’t he the same person who’d insulted her a while ago? Didn’t he call her ordinary, plain, dumb, and a whole lot of bullshit? He was such a pretentious snake and at that moment, she realized that she needed to stay away from the man at all cost. He was cunning.
