Like It Was Their Last Time

“Why don’t you ever listen?” Caspian began the moment they stepped into the penthouse. She turned on the lights and made her journey to the kitchen, sidestepping the elephant in the room. Once she got to the kitchen, she dropped the box of food on the table, poured out a glass of water for herself, and drained her drink in one long gulp. She sighed

Caspian followed her into the kitchen, his footsteps loud and deliberate. “I’m speaking to you, Anna. The fuck, you didn’t hear me?”

She ignored him again, proceeding to wash her hands on the sink and then dry with a wipe. Without sparing him a glance, she intended to walk out of the kitchen but Caspian’s fingers came around her arms and pushed her to the island table, her spine hitting the table painfully.

“Anna,” he roared, his voice thick and angry. His grip on her arms was tight and she was sure it would leave a mark after everything. Her eyes fell on arms where his fingers wrapped and then rode up to his eyes.
