Declaring War

“You send the goods to the warehouse. I'll handle everything else,” Caspian ordered the man staring at him from his laptop, signing a few files on his desk.

“Yes, boss.”

“Anything else? It’s the weekend.” He asked, opening the files on his desk, his fingers picking up the small blue pen. All of a sudden, he felt something soft in his foot, a wet sensation.

Realizing what it was, Caspian threw the pen in his hand in surprise and sprang up from his chair, glaring at the white little puppy beneath him. “The fuck. Did you just put your tongue on me?”

“Is that a dog?” His eyes looked back at the laptop to see his secretary’s eyes wide.

“Shut up.” He closed the laptop and returned his attention to the puppy who had his pink tongue out, staring at him. The dog took steps toward him but he retreated backward, his eyes not leaving it.
