Sylvia’s Ruined Reputation

“Mom, mom, what’s going on?” Elle charged towards her mother, her overly high heels clicking in urgency on the tiled floor at each step she took. She snatched her mother from the policemen’s grip, her eyes glaring daggers at them. “If you come close to my mother one more time, I’ll make you regret it.”

She let out exasperated sighs before turning to stare at her mother again, her hands searching for any trace of injury. “Mom, are you alright? Did these people hurt you?”

Sylvia's shoulders trembled as she struggled to hold back tears. Letting go of her mother for a while, Elle stepped forward to Anna. She lowered her head.

“You’re the only hope that we have, sister Anna.” She clasped her hands together. “Please don’t let the police take mother away. Please help us this one time. I swear, if you don’t let Mother go to jail, I’ll come get you immediately, I’ll make sure to get you out.”

Anna leaned back with her hands behind her and her chin tilted upward. Her gaze traveled from the top
