Anna’s Period

Halfway through their meal, Anna felt a sharp pain travel to her abdomen, her tummy stretching in pain. She immediately sprang up from the chair.

“Are you okay, dear?” Mrs. Riordan inquired, her voice laced with concern.

“I’ll be right back.”

She took to her heels, heading toward the room that she now shared with Caspian. Once she pushed the door closed behind her, she ran into the bathroom, her breath rough and ragged. It can’t be, right? She wasn’t going to have her period until next week.

But as she checked, her face fell in disappointment at the bright red that stained her panties. She sighed in frustration at the pain that followed each time she took a breath.

She wasn’t ready for the pain that came with her period, for the tears and lightheadedness that came with it. She wasn’t prepared for it at all. Unlike other girls out there, her period always seemed to almost take her life each time.
