A Checkup On Caspian’s Heart

Caspian flung the door of Jordan’s office open and strode in, the slam of the door echoing through the building. His fingers shot through his hair in frustration, his other hand planted in his hip. His eyes swept over the teenage girl and boy on the chairs astride Jordan who looked up in surprise as if caught in an act.

“Get out,” he ordered them. His glare burned like a sharp edge, prompting the teenagers to scramble from their seats and race out of the office in fear. He sat on a chair and crossed his legs, his fingers tracing the contours of his lips.

“I need your help, Mr doctor.”

Jordan sighed and took off his glasses, relaxing back on his chair with a mocking shake of his head. “I thought you’d be above asking nicely. You Riordans have a habit of taking without asking. You do realize that you chased my clients, right?”

“Since when did you start having teenagers as clients? If you’re so broke, you can come to me for help. For a little exchange, might I add.”
