CHAPTER 4

CHAPTER 4

As I walked through the corridor towards our building this morning, I noticed a group of guys hanging out along the way.

Even from a distance, my attention was immediately drawn to the familiar figure among them.

I observed as one of the guys nudged the person beside him, causing them to turn towards me, our eyes meeting.

My heart pounded loudly as the scene with Karen in the utility room from yesterday suddenly replayed in my mind.

Damn it! I averted my gaze and walked past them without acknowledging their presence.

"Lara!" a guy I didn't recognize called out to me.

I paused briefly as I saw him approaching me.

"Uh, Lara—this is for you." He scratched his head while handing me a piece of paper.

Reluctantly, I took it and continued walking towards my room. It wasn't new for me to receive love letters from suitors. However, none of them caught my interest. It's not that I'm picky, but none of them possessed what I was looking for in a man. Because at the moment, there's only one person I want, and that's Rexon.

Upon entering my room, my attention immediately shifted to Karen. They seemed to be whispering to each other, their conversation briefly interrupted as I passed by.

I sat down silently in my chair, Terry tapping my shoulder.

"Hey, Lara, what happened to you? You look pale."

I quickly wiped my hands over my face before responding, "I just had a sleepless night." I avoided eye contact as I uttered those words.

"Oh, you're probably daydreaming about Rexon again, right?" Terry teased me.

"No way!" I blushed, denying it.

"Oh, come on, you're just pretending! The reason you can't sleep at night is probably because you keep thinking about him!" She teased further.

"Stop it, someone might hear you," I whispered, giving her a stern look.

"Oh! Your prince charming is here," he whispered back to me, nodding towards the door.

I held my breath as I watched him walk in, looking handsome with his freshly showered messy hair. His dark, expressive eyes filled me with intense nervousness.

Reluctantly, I swallowed as I followed his every move with my eyes.

"Hi, Rexon!" Karen's group suddenly approached her.

He glanced at Karen, shrugged, then casually put on his headset before closing his eyes.

I wanted to laugh at the embarrassment Karen and her friends faced in front of Rexon. Karen turned around, frustrated, and stomped off.

"Serves you all right," Terry whispered.

I shot him a look, silently agreeing with his observation.

I simply shook my head and turned my gaze back to Rexon, who was still listening with his eyes shut.

I wondered what he was listening to. Does he listen to his own music? His voice is undeniably beautiful, coupled with his good looks and strong charisma, no wonder his fans go crazy over him.

"Hey! I noticed you've been quiet for a while now," Terry nudged me as she munches on her fries. We were in the canteen having lunch.

"Yeah, why so quiet? Is there a problem?" Clara asked me.

"Maybe you're in love?" Japs chimed in, chuckling.

"What's wrong with you guys, no way!" I rolled my eyes at them before focusing on the spaghetti that I haven't touched.

"You've been quiet since earlier, what's up with you? We were all chatting, and you've been silent the whole time," Clara raised an eyebrow at me.

"Nothing, really..." I insisted, taking a sip of the juice in front of me.

Our lunch was interrupted by the loud entrance of a group, causing a commotion in the canteen.

"They're so handsome!" a girl near our table exclaimed.

"Logistic band I love you!" someone shouted from the left side.

A sudden rush of nerves hit my heart as I saw Rexon with his bandmates.

I couldn't blame their fans for getting so excited whenever they see Rexon's group. After all, they were all good-looking, with Rexon being the most handsome of them all.

They sat close to our table, and their fans approached one by one, hoping for autographs, but they were stopped by a girl whom I didn't recognize.

"They're here to eat, not to give autographs," she curtly said, taking a seat next to their guitarist, Jeff.

I assumed she was one of their P.A's, hence her strict guard over the group.

"Wow, they really have such a strong presence, huh?" Japs commented, lounging lazily as if he had lost his appetite.

"Maybe you're drooling from staring so much, huh?" Clara teased him.

"What's wrong? It's not every day we see a handsome guy on campus!" he retorted.

"Excuse me, I wouldn't trade my Alex for them!" Terry fired back, rolling her eyes at Rexon's group.

I just smiled at their banter and glanced at Rexon's group. I felt a bead of sweat run down my back as our eyes met.

Shit! Out of all the people in this canteen, why is he looking at me now? I couldn't move as he locked eyes with me, causing my lips to part in astonishment.

"You might melt." Terry's teasing remark caught me off guard, making me quickly lower my gaze.

Glancing back at him, I saw him already engaged with his group, a slight smile on his face.

As we headed to our last subject in the afternoon, we crossed paths with the group of guys.

"Hey, Lara!" I heard one of the guys greet me.

I simply glanced at them, but furrowed my brow when I recognized one of the guys there.

My face flushed with embarrassment as I approached their area. Damn it! My day was going so well, why did he have to show up now, right as the class was about to end?

"Oh, is that Dawzon?" Clara whispered to me, sounding uneasy beside me.

"I don't know him..." I quickly responded, raising their eyebrows at me.

"What do you mean you don't know him? You've known each other since enrollment!" Japs remarked in surprise.

"Isn't he Rexon's brother? The one who carried you to the clinic?" Clara added, her voice laced with excitement.

"Yes, but I don't have time to get to know him!" I curtly replied before briskly passing their group.

"Apparently, Logistic has a practice today, want to go watch?" Clara invited me after our last subject.

My face immediately lit up at the proposal.

"Alex has soccer practice today," Terry mentioned while applying lipstick.

My face brightened even more, knowing I could escape the boredom of watching Alex's practice.

Terry glanced at me before speaking, "Alright, you go ahead, I know where you're headed." She said sharply.

I couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction, "Why don't you join us instead?" I suggested with a wide smile.

"Over my dead body! I don't want to be in a crowded place with their fans. Just seeing Alex, my love, is enough for me. I don't need the extra competition." With that, she swiftly stood up and left us.

"What a snob!" Clara remarked.

"See you tomorrow!" I called out as she walked away.

"Let's go?" Clara asked, dragging Japs along.

We all headed to the covered gym to watch the Logistic Band's practice.
